Without further ado, here's the latest data from Rule34.paheal.net!

As of January 10, 2015, here's the state of Rule 34:

Pokemon still holds the lead with 89,749 images. 1,714 new explicit images were added during December, giving Pokemon a 1.9% increase in porn from last month.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is in second place with 63,908 images. 1,300 new explicit images were added during December, giving My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic a 2% increase in porn from last month.

Touhou is in third place with 53,749 images. 639 new explicit images were added during December, giving Touhou a 1.2% increase in porn from last month.

DC Comics is in fourth place with 25,454 images. 142 new explicit images were added during December, giving DC Comics a 0.5% increase in porn from last month.

Street Fighter is in fifth place with 19,834 images. 273 new explicit images were added during December, giving Street Fighter a 1.3% increase in porn from last month.

Naruto is in sixth place with 19,620 images. 195 new explicit images were added during December, giving Naruto a 1% increase in porn from last month.

Marvel Comics is in seventh place with 18,700 images. 162 new explicit images were added during December, giving Marvel Comics a 0.8% increase in porn from last month.

Sonic Team is in eighth place with 18,588 images. 239 new explicit images were added during December, giving Sonic Team a 1.3% increase in porn from last month.

Digimon is in ninth place with 14,065 images. 226 new explicit images were added during December, giving Digimon a 1.6% increase in porn from last month.

Super Mario Bros is in tenth place with 13,218 images. 273 new explicit images were added during December, giving Super Mario Bros a 2.1% increase in porn from last month.

Pokemon has outproduced My Little Pony for five consecutive months. For the record, My Little Pony's current best streak of peerless porn production was from March-October 2013. During that time, My Little Pony managed to outproduce Pokemon for eight consecutive months.
Only 112 images separates Marvel from Sonic Team. Will the blue blur be able to outrun the entire Marvel universe?

Now that we've gone over the monthly update for the top ten porn producers, it's time to analyze the latest data regarding Rule 34 images for the mane six.

As of January 10, 2015, here's the state of Rule 34 for the mane six, according to Rule34.paheal.net:

Twilight Sparkle  has 9,443 images. 205 explicit images were added during December, giving her a 2.2% increase from last month.

Rainbow Dash :rainbowdetermined2: has 7,783 images. 121 explicit images were added during December, giving her a 1.5% increase from last month.

Fluttershy :yay: has 7,468 images. 158 explicit images were added during December, giving her a 2.1% increase from last month.

Pinkie Pie :pinkiehappy: has 6,732 images. 101 explicit images were added during December, giving her a 1.5% increase from last month.

Rarity :raritystarry: has 6,234 images. 125 explicit images were added during December, giving her a 2% increase from last month.

Applejack :ajsmug: has 6,109 images. 100 explicit images were added during December, giving her a 1.6% increase from last month.

Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle have beaten Rainbow Dash in terms of porn production for four consecutive months.
Rarity widened her lead over Applejack. It's also worth noting that there's recently been a porn production paradigm shift amongst the mane six. For the longest time, there were three distinct tiers; three different rivalries. Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash were top tier. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were second tier. Rarity and Applejack were third tier. During the last year though, hings began to change. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash both consistently began to garner lower numbers than they had in the past. In addition, Fluttershy began to see a surge in popularity. Twilight Sparkle's lead only continued to increase. These elements combined have resulted in the three tiers being shifted. Now, the first tier is Twilight Sparkle. The second tier is Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. The third tier is Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Applejack.

It's a new year. A time for resolving to live better lives and be better people. How many of us have made new year's resolutions and are still keeping them? As fans of My Little Pony, we're all very lucky that the series which brought us together put such an emphasis on various positive attributes. I'm of course talking about the Elements of Harmony: Honesty, Loyalty, Generosity, Kindness, Laughter and the Magic of Friendship.

For this month's topic, I would like to discuss a man who was the living embodiment of the Elements of Harmony. Fred Rogers.

Born on March 20, 1928, Fred McFeely Rogers was a puppeteer and ordained minister who became the host of the television program Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. With a degree in music composition, Mr. Rogers wrote more than 200 songs for the show, including the theme, "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood." Mr. Rogers wanted to work in television because the first time he saw a TV show it had “something horrible on it with people throwing pies at one another.”

Mr. Rogers said, “I went into television because I hated it so, and I thought there was some way of using this fabulous instrument to nurture those who would watch and listen.” I can think of another creative individual who was unsatisfied with the status quo of children's programming and did something about it. Thanks to Lauren Faust's efforts in furthering television for young girls, we have My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I've spoken before several times about the issue of feminine traits being derided while aggressive masculinity is praised. Mr. Rogers knew what real strength was.

“Most of us, I believe, admire strength. It's something we tend to respect in others, desire for ourselves, and wish for our children. Sometimes, though, I wonder if we confuse strength with other words—like 'aggression' and even 'violence'. Real strength is neither male nor female; but it is, quite simply, one of the finest characteristics that a human being can possess.”
― Fred Rogers

Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood made its national television debut on February 19, 1968. The show’s purpose, as put forth by Mr. Rogers, was to promote: good self-esteem, self-control, imagination, creativity, curiosity, appreciation of diversity, cooperation, patience, and persistence. Special emphasis should be made on the importance of patience. The methodical pace of the show was a marked distinction from most contemporary children’s programs and allowed children the chance to process what was being presented, the opportunity to make connections, and the space to concentrate.
During one episode, Mr. Rogers invited a marine biologist onto the show to put a microphone into his fish tank in order to show the children watching at home that fish make sounds when they eat. While filming the segment though, the fish weren't hungry. The marine biologist tried to get the fish to eat. Mr. Rogers just waited patiently. The crew thought he would want to reshoot the scene, but Mr. Rogers left it as it was because he thought it was important to illustrate the importance of patience.
A Yale psychology study which compared Sesame Street to Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood found that kids who watched Mr. Rogers not only remembered more content from the show, but their ability to wait patiently for treats or adult attention was considerably higher.

Mr. Rogers' personal life was indistinguishable from his televised persona. He was a vegetarian. He didn’t smoke or drink or seem to have any major vices. He also stayed married to the same woman until his death; their marriage lasted for more than 50 years. He was also very fascinated by the number 143. He said it was a very special number that stood for “I love you.” Because it takes one letter to say 'I,' four letters to say 'love' and three letters to say 'you.' For the last thirty years of his life, Mr. Rogers maintained a weight of 143 pounds. Many of Mr. Rogers’ famous sweaters he wore on the show were made by his mother. The reason why he wore sneakers on the show was because they made less noise than normal dress shoes when moving around behind the sets.

Contrary to widespread rumors on the Internet, Mr. Rogers was never a sniper in the military and he didn't wear sweaters to hide tattoos covering his arms and body. Mr. Rogers never served in the military, he never killed anyone and he didn't have any tattoos. About the only even slightly “scandalous” thing Mr. Rogers ever did, which he revealed in an interview, was that he swam laps completely nude nearly every morning of his adult life at various clubs that allowed nude swimming at certain times of the day. There was also that one time where he inadvertently flipped off his audience during a song about fingers.

In 1969, the budgeting for children's programming was going to be slashed in half from $20 million to $10 million. Mr. Rogers was given six short minutes before Senator John Pastore, the chairman of the Subcommittee on Communications, to state his case for publicly-funded educational television. In that short amount of time, Mr. Rogers' "meaningful expression of care" gave the gruff Senator goosebumps. After the case was made, Senator Pastore told Mr. Rogers that he "just earned the $20 million dollars."

In addition to saving public children's programming, Mr. Rogers was also instrumental in saving the VCR and, thus, paving the way for DVRs. For most people, Sony's Betamax is nothing more than a punchline. A piece of outdated technology that was outclassed by VHS tapes. (VHS replaced Betamax, mainly because its tapes had longer recording capability) Yet in spite of falling into obscurity, the technological pioneer Betamax became attached to a court case which played a pivotal role in copyright law.

In 1975, Betamax enabled people to record television programs for the first time ever. Universal Studios and Walt Disney Productions filed a lawsuit in 1976 to halt the sale of the Betamax, claiming that film and TV producers would lose millions of dollars from unauthorized duplication and distribution of their copyrighted content. When the case finally went to trial in 1979, the U. S. District court ruled in favor of Sony, stating that taping programs was fair use, and did not infringe on copyright. Universal was unhappy with the verdict and appealed in 1981 for the ruling to be reversed, which it was. This is where Mr. Rogers enters the picture.

The second round of the Betamax case arrived at the Supreme Court in 1983. By this point, nearly 50 percent of all homes in America had a VCR and sales of videocassettes were competing with theatrical box office. Universal Studios vs. Sony Corporation of America, nicknamed the “Betamax Case,” was argued for a year. Jack Valenti, the head of the Motion Picture Association of America, comparing the effects of the VCR on his industry and the American people to that of the Boston Strangler on a woman home alone. In contrast, Mr. Rogers testified that the VCR would be beneficial for parents to be able to record his program and watch it with their children at a later time.

"I have always felt that with the advent of all of this new technology that allows people to tape the 'Neighborhood' off-the-air ...they then become much more active in the programming of their family’s television life. Very frankly, I am opposed to people being programmed by others. My whole approach in broadcasting has always been ‘You are an important person just the way you are. You can make healthy decisions’ ...I just feel that anything that allows a person to be more active in the control of his or her life, in a healthy way, is important." -Mr. Rogers

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Sony and cited Rogers' comments: "He testified that he had absolutely no objection to home taping for noncommercial use and expressed the opinion that it is a real service to families to be able to record children's programs and to show them at appropriate times." The original decision was upheld. Recording a broadcast program for later viewing, is fair use. Mr. Rogers stood in opposition to a majority of the television and film industry. He showed courage in standing up for the things he believed in.

895 episodes of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood were filmed with the first episode broadcasting in 1968 and the last episode shot on December of 2000 and was subsequently aired in August of 2001. In a world where so many things are mocked and corrupted, Mr. Rogers transcends virtually all forms of criticism. Even Cracked.com, which is known for poking fun at everything, (and has mocked the Brony fandom on numerous occasions), had nothing but nice things to say about Mr. Rogers.

"A lot of people of a lot of faiths are waiting for the Messiah, but even if one arrives, how are you going to tell the difference between him and Fred Rogers?" -Cracked.com

Even the animal kingdom recognized how amazing Mr. Rogers was. Koko the sign-language gorilla was able to tell Mr. Rogers that she loved him coming to visit her. I think Fluttershy would appreciate the affect he had on animals.

Mr. Rogers was a guest star on Arthur. In the episode, Arthur is concerned that his friends will make fun of him if they find out that he likes Mr. Rogers. The message of this episode is even more relevant today, especially for people who enjoy things targeted towards a younger demographic.

Though Mr. Rogers may have passed away in 2003, his legacy lives on in a new series designed for toddlers called Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.

The show gets a nod of approval from Fred Rogers’ widow Joanne. The new show follows the descendants of the original cast from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.

When Mr. Rogers received a lifetime achievement award in 1997, his acceptance speech was one of the most amazing and humble things ever witnessed.

"[Mister Rogers] went onstage to accept Emmy's Lifetime Achievement Award, and there, in front of all the soap-opera stars and talk-show sinceratrons, in front of all the jutting man-tanned jaws and jutting saltwater bosoms, he made his small bow and said into the microphone, "All of us have special ones who have loved us into being. Would you just take, along with me, ten seconds to think of the people who have helped you become who you are ... Ten seconds of silence." And then he lifted his wrist, and looked at the audience, and looked at his watch, and said softly, "I'll watch the time," and there was, at first, a small whoop from the crowd, a giddy, strangled hiccup of laughter, as people realized that he wasn't kidding, that Mister Rogers was not some convenient eunuch but rather a man, an authority figure who actually expected them to do what he asked … and so they did. One second, two seconds, three seconds … and now the jaws clenched, and the bosoms heaved, and the mascara ran, and the tears fell upon the beglittered gathering like rain leaking down a crystal chandelier, and Mister Rogers finally looked up from his watch and said, "May God be with you" to all his vanquished children." -Esquire magazine

Mr. Rogers preached love and tolerance, which has become the unofficial brony mantra.

“I don't think anyone can grow unless he's loved exactly as he is now, appreciated for what he is rather than what he will be.”
― Fred Rogers
“Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.”
― Fred Rogers
“When we love a person, we accept him or her exactly as is: the lovely with the unlovely, the strong with the fearful, the true mixed in with the façade, and of course, the only way we can do it is by accepting ourselves that way.”
― Fred Rogers

In closing, here are some quotes and clips from Mr. Rogers which exemplifies why he embodies the Elements of Harmony.
Honesty:ajsmug:

“One of the greatest gifts you can ever give anybody is your honest self.”
― Fred Rogers
“It's not the honors and the prizes and the fancy outsides of life which ultimately nourish our souls. It's the knowing that we can be trusted, that we never have to fear the truth, that the bedrock of our very being is good stuff.”
― Fred Rogers

Loyalty:rainbowdetermined2:

“Anyone who has ever been able to sustain good work has had at least one person--and often many--who have believed in him or her. We just don't get to be competent human beings without a lot of different investments from others.”
― Fred Rogers
“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say "It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem." Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”
― Fred Rogers

Generosity:raritystarry:

“The real issue in life is not how many blessings we have, but what we do with our blessings. Some people have many blessings and hoard them. Some have few and give everything away.”
― Fred Rogers
“Some days, doing "the best we can" may still fall short of what we would like to be able to do, but life isn't perfect on any front-and doing what we can with what we have is the most we should expect of ourselves or anyone else.”
― Fred Rogers

Laughter:pinkiehappy:

(Rare children's record album from the Mister Rogers Neighborhood television series sung by Jerry Witman.)
Kindness:yay:

“There are three ways to ultimate success:
The first way is to be kind.
The second way is to be kind.
The third way is to be kind.”
― Fred Rogers

Friendship:twilightsmile:

So thank you, Mr. Rogers, for everything.

And thank you for reading to the end of another Rule 34 blog post. May each of us resolve to live the Elements of Harmony more fully in our daily lives. Feel free to discuss your feelings in the comments section.

This was a great journal to read on the first day of my period. :raritycry:

Porn and Mr.Rogers in the same blog?

This must be a holiday of some sort.

2714730
I've never cried so much putting a blog post together as I did with this one. Mr. Rogers was too good for this world.:fluttercry:

Commence feels...

Not going to... :fluttercry:

did anyone else, upon reading "A Good Neighbor" think "State Farm is there!"

I actually met Fred Rogers a long, long time ago. I couldn't have been more than four years old at the time, but I remember it. My Dad's an actor, and he was filming something in the same studio as Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. He met Fred and talked with him, and when Fred heard that I was a fan of the show, he invited dad to bring me over for a tour. As you can imagine, four-year-old me was absolutely ecstatic. I got to meet Mr. Rogers and a few of the other folks from the show, and even got to hold the Daniel Tiger puppet.

I consider myself to be extremely blessed to have been able to have such an experience. He truly was one of a kind. I still have a framed picture of Fred with Dad and I from that day.

This was extremely interesting. I knew that Mr. Rogers was an amazing guy, but I had no idea that he had played such an important role in copyright lawmaking.

... I'm going to bed at just after 2 a.m., and feeling very happy... thank you, Bronystories. I really needed this.

How're you doing, man? Holding up all right?

2714933
I'm doing alright. I think that 2014 was rough for a lot of people. Maybe that's why I felt prompted to start off 2015 with a reminder of the potential for goodness that human beings are capable of.

I'm so pleased to hear that you're feeling happy. Thanks for thinking of me!

What, in particular, made you feel happy?

2714926
Thank you for sharing that story!
Interesting bit of trivia: Michael Keaton (Batman, Beetlejuice) got his first job working on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.

I consider myself fortunate in that my life, while far from perfect, is pretty good. Despite this, everything that's been going on in the world as of late slowly made me grow disheartened—so slowly that I didn't realize it had happened. Thank you, Bronystories. I may not have realized it, but I needed to see something good for once, even if I didn't realize it.

This was nice. Very very nice. Thanks for sharing this. ^_^

There's no +1 on this damn thing! :applecry:

Very touching.

Welp. I'm just gonna quietly bookmark this page for the future. I just know it's going to be useful in some capacity one day (or even many).

Porn statistics and Mr. Rodgers. That's one heck of a juxtaposition there. :applejackconfused:

In the first years of my life, my holy trinity of television was Sesame Street, Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood, and another PBS show called Learn to Read. (The latter was intended for immigrants from non-English-speaking nations, but it aired immediately after Sesame Street, so I figured it had the same target audience. It seemed a logical next step: Sesame Street introduced the letters, Learn to Read formed them into words and sentences.)

But I ramble. The point is, Fred Rodgers is one of the pillars of my childhood, one that still stands strong to this day. The man is a modern saint, and I thank you for this tribute.

Mr. Rogers... One of my childhood heroes. Now that I'm older, I can fully appreciate just how great he was.

Not gonna lie, I shed a few tears after reading this post.

Rest in peace, Mr. Rogers. And thank you.

2714951

Heh. Happy on two fronts. This post really had me smiling, because I have very fond memories of Mr. Rogers.

The other? I woke up and weighed in. I've lost somewhere around 7-10 pounds in the last three weeks, just by tracking what I eat and exercising and how I'm sleeping.

I was caught up in the moment with Mr. Rogers. Then I got to this and remembered, "Oh yeah, this is a Rule 34 clop count blog."

I grew up with Mr. Rogers! Yeah, I was in the time where PBS did reruns (I lived back in NY) ofhim after Charlie Rose, and after they took Rogers off, 2 p.m. didn't seem... well... like it was.

2714826 It's okay... you could let it all out... we all can..

2716453
And in case you were wondering, yes. There is Daniel Tiger porn. Rule 34, and all that.

This is everything wrong with the Internet in a single post. This is why we can't have nice things.

2730434
I'm confused. Are you talking about the more than four years of meticulous rule 34 statistics, or the spotlight on Mr. Rogers?:rainbowhuh:

2731024

Just another sad troll. Cheer up man, it's what Rodgers would have wanted. You don't have to hate everything. Try some love.

2769691

No, friendo, I wasn't even remotely joking. Both subjects are undeniably creepy.

Just watched Won't you be my neighbor?, and had to search fimfiction for x-overs. Your blog post was one of the top 3 results.

I have to say, I am impressed. Both with the comprehensive effort into rule34 statistics, and with the quality of your essay on Fred Rodgers. That many of your facts and anecdotes were duplicated by the film 3 years later say quite a bit about your skills.

I will certainly be looking over your other works; blogs, stories, and perhaps beyond. Once I find a writer of skill, I tend to devour all they create. . . But in a good way.:twilightsheepish:
