This is the comic I dubbed. The twelfth panel apparently is so salacious it has put my YouTube account 'not in good standing'. Though, personally, I think the sudden influx of anti-AppleDash people leaving comments on the video in the last few days has more to do with it.

This has really frightened me. I follow the rules. I always do. Yet people who don't like my videos based solely the pairing can get them pulled and may end up getting my account deleted if they try hard enough. I love making fic readings and comic dubs, but the aggravation I've received from people this month (which has not been a good month IRL anyway) has made me question whether I should bother anymore.

I hate February.

Don't hate on February; I saw that dub and you did a very good job with it--something to be proud of!

There will just be some haters in the world regardless of how you act or what beliefs you cling to. Hold your head up high and know that you have friends that support what you do the world over.:twilightsmile:

The wonderful world of copyright.

I can see why you're getting upset and frustrated. Anybody who doesn't is blind, really.

But please, keep on doing your readings and comic voice-overs. Don't let yourself get discouraged by things like that. Don't let some idiots get their ways because they have learned to push a button. There are far more out here that enjoy your videos and appreciate the work you're putting into them.

To hell with all anti-AppleDashers... or anti- any pairing people for that matter. :ajbemused:

I always like to believe in the overarching good of humanity, but those select few people who dare to be stupid make it very difficult at times...

Keep up the good work Scribs, and anyone who doesn't appreciate your work can just eat a lemon.

You cannot give up, ms. Obabscribbler! If you give up, you let yourself down, and you let the haters win! So one comic got you flagged?Who cares? You can't let it get to you, not even in the slightest. You should be proud of what you have done, and move on to something else. I haven't seen the comic dub yet, but I've seen one or two other vids that pop up in my recommended-for-you list related to you and they are very good.

In fact, for your next comic dub, there is a guy I really think you should have voicing in. He's aspiring to become a voice actor and I think it would really mean a lot to him if he got a head-start in his dream by doing some VA for someone who had recognition, if you understand my meaning.

His name on this site is ColossalParadox, if you'd be interested in getting an audio sample from him.

Anyways, you can't let this bring you down. You are the Obabscribbler! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back in the saddle!

Your Fan,
UniqueSKD

p.s - hopefully this will put that smile back on your face!

And if you aren't smiling by now, I'll track you down and do whatever it takes to get your happy face back on again!

All these haters, just like rats scurrying arund everywhere. Sometimes they hate because it's just not their thing. But if it wasn't their thing, they wouldn't have gone and made their hate evident. They had to knock something down just because it was standing. Envy is the force that drives even the closest of friends and family apart. They don't like it because they know deep down, they will never be as good as you.

I know it's hard, but just keep doing what you do. You've ceated a group of fans that greatly appreciate your work. If you leave now, you leave us brokenhearted, We will have lost some serious talent. Don't give up. Keep tryin. Prove to them you can rise above their crap. But above all else, do it because it's what you love to do, and no one should have the right to stop you for what you love doing.

Ah have never read that comic before... That was beautiful...:fluttercry:

Why would they flag that when theirs so many other terrible things on you tube? is it because it has a reference to angels in it? whatever the reason that's just sad... that touched my heart and ah know its done the same to others, all say it again that was truly beautiful...

Whatever happens you have my support all the way...

Not the best occasion, but thanks for linking that comic I hadn't seen yet. Lots of feels.

(The whole concept of ship-hating seems pretty baffling. Why is it such serious business if a non-canon story pairs up fictional characters differently from how you like to pair them up?)

What the hell is wrong with bronies and ponies these days... Celestia. Ugh, I liked that video! I looked beyond the shipping part. It was great! Many Bronies these days :facehoof:

How the actual fuck does anything about that comic violate community guidelines? I just don't understand people sometimes. I really don't. *sigh*

That being said . . . don't let them scare you off. If you enjoy doing readings, then continue doing readings. For every hater, I'm sure there are a dozen people who enjoy what you do and appreciate the care you put into your readings.

Dispute it, then. You can always dispute strikes.

Well now I'm sad... mostly because I read the comic again and I was reminded how much I loved your reading of it... As for the flag you got over your reading... I feel freaking sick. Seriously my stomach is doing cartwheels because of this...

It can't just be me that can't help but smile every time you put up a new reading or comic dub. Sure there are fics you've read that I haven't enjoyed(like two I think... maybe only one...), and there are certainly fics with shipping pairs that I personally don't like, but I'm going to stand by my principles and love and tolerate the crap out of the people involved because they had the courage to put something they created out in the world for everyone to see.

I'm sorry if I end up ranting before this comment is finished... I still haven't settled my stomach...

So yeah appeal that strike. Sure the panel in question might be inappropriate to some people, but I have seen far worse things on YouTube than a loving couple embracing.

I think I'm broken... I can't get angry or hate the people responsible for your flag. I just feel like crying... Before I became a brony I was kind of lost, but it was literally one of your readings that brought me into the fandom... well that and a song. I guess it's normal to feel sad when someone you care about is hurting. I know I can't fix the problem, but I hope you know that you have support from people who wish they could take away everything that is working against you.

There will always be haters, but the rewards that come from creation outweigh their negativity. Good Luck!

A couple of things to keep in mind.

1. You've probably been doing this long enough to know, but artists need to develop a thick skin, out of necessity. You'll always have critics, some more vocal than others. But you'll also have people--the vast majority, I suspect--who support you, and appreciate what you're trying to create.

2. A while back, a guy created a "Every Twixie fanfic ever" vid about Twilight and Trixie, which was animated in Source FilmMaker. Although it was admittedly risque, when it was eventually taken down by YouTube, he expressed his belief that no actual human beings were involved in the process; at no point was he contacted by a company rep to try and sort things out, and his own queries went unanswered. He received an impersonal form letter, just as you did. This jives with what I've heard in the past about YouTube simply taking down videos that are infringing upon copyright or "inappropriate" automatically, to err on the side of caution; so much material is uploaded on a daily basis, and so much of it probably being reported, that it would be humanly impossible to manually sift through them all.

For my part, I love your work, and I know I'm not the only one. I hope you keep doing it for as long as you want to.

YouTube itself is going downhill when it comes to making personal content, I say start finding another service or possibly use mediafire and post the links here if needed. Also try to put in a dispute for false flagging.

I could see this being a copyright violation, because, well, let's face reality here: it really brazenly is.

However, the idea that panel 12 would be overly sexual is... bizarre.

I'm with 1823299 here.

To flag your channel for that is complete and utter bullshit. There is nothing wrong with that panel at all, and while I may not care for Appledash, I'm not going to spam someone's channel with disrespectful comments just because they post it. Dispute it with everything you've got, because this is not okay.

I'm not really one of those with deep speeches, so I say: Don't let this get to you, keep your head up high and keep doing what you love. Because you're amazing at it and nobody has the right to take that away from you.

Youtube is awful. People abuse reports all the time (and I'm positive they don't actually get checked), and they get away with it because they have the monopoly.

Some people just can't stand things that make others happy and want to do their best to ruin it for you and everyone else... don't let this get to you. You've done some amazing work and I'd hate to see it stop because of this.

God damn youtube, don't they know how awesome that dub was!? I'm really sad now:fluttercry:

Don't let the haters get to you Ms. Scribbler. You must keep calm and continue forward!

The anger builds and billows from my intolerance for intolerance. That flag was in no way justified. There are far worse things on Youtube that are far more atrocious that two cartoon ponies in a bed, shielded by a blanket. I could go off an a lengthy rant and I'm really fighting the urge to. I feel for you. The flag was for petty reasons, and the action reflect on those who put the action in motion.
I hate February as well. The constant flood of "Love" - or the parody of it- streams in all forms of media; movies, shows, books and commercials. They reinforce my game plan. DIE ALONE! :ajbemused:

This is why I keep telling people, spread the word, get more people to start using Dailymotion.com

Hell, Knighty still doesn't seem to want to bother to allow embeds from Dailymotion, for whatever reason, isn't that just a few lines of code to allow the embedding of another video hosting site? Especially one being used ever more frequent by bronies everywhere and even more outside the fandom for Let's Plays and more. And assuming that MAYBE he might have a partnership with youtube for refferral links (not sure how analytics and monetization works far this would go) but I don't see the harm of taking that extra time to allow a Dailymotion.com button or whatever to be added next to the Youtube.

IDK, I've tried many ways to link videos beyond youtube, but none work.

The monetization stuff is free to join as well if you're worried about that, upgrading to 1080p if you need for videos is free and hassle-free as well.

Do you and others really want to wait till Youtube decides based on a handful of hostile internet trolls and haters that can coordinate a group attack against one of your videos and make stupid calls? Any soccer mom or some kid can take your hard work down within mere minutes.

Not only is dailymotion faster to upload to, it processes your videos twice as fast too. And the tag features are great. Banding together with other friends to spread the word and promoting the hell out of dailymotion can help in the mass exodus from Youtube dependency to a more open and free community where some overeager Google, who automate everything, doesn't have a say on how you can express your love for something.

Dailymotion.com: It's just the right thing to do. Talk to your friends, talk to those in charge, help us all break out of our over-dependence on Youtube and the constant corporate takeover of what was originally made for the people by the people.

Youtube, is slowly working on transitioning into a pay to watch service. Soon they'll require you to pay if you want to even view or upload videos over 480p.

Give it time...

after looking at the comic all i got to say is wow that truly is weird how that panel would be sexual even though they are covered. i guess those people wanted to hate and all, but dont let that stop you from doing what you do keep being yourself

For some reason, February is always a bad month for ponies. This has been the case since the beginning. The important thing is to tough it out until things get better.

Of course, there's no harm in a hiatus if you really need it.

The thing about haters is, you'll inevitably have them if you're big enough. Between voice acting and original stories, Scribbler is a fandom institution now. The existence of haters means you've "made it". I suspect this is because envy is such a part of western culture; people are often allowed, if not outright encouraged, to hate those who have more of whatever they want.

John Joseco has it even worse. He's got a whole hatedom trying to drive him away from this fandom. They're organized and everything. This is because he's not only popular, but representative of things the haters are against politically. Your haters, however, will most likely lose interest after a while.

Be strong.

I've...never been good with words. Not even in the slightest. I could write something that might help to cheer you up...but most likely I'd just end up ranting.
^-^a
So, instead, here's something I'm mildly good at. I hope it does something to bring a smile to your face.

That's some grade A bullshit right there! :flutterrage:

It'll be a sad day if you let a couple of twits discourage you from doing what you do. You got more fans that love and appreciate what you do than haters out there. Scribbler, fuck the self-righteous trolling ingrates that want to try to ruin things for everyone all for the sake of their subjective, inferior minded moral high ground. Fuck em in the neck and feed 'em fish heads.

With that off my chest, yes, February is a shity month. February froze my car door shut on me. Who needs it?:trixieshiftleft:

I don't really have any specific words of advice, I'm usually better at the hugging part than writing up good support. But I wanted to at least let you know that there's another person here who supports you and loves your work.

 Since it's what I'm good at though... /internet hug.

Sorry Scribbler  Hope you don't have to deal with too much of that.

What to do depends on whether you get ad revenue from YouTube. I doubt you'd get as much from any other platform.
