Princess Celestia has been expecting an alicorn transformation. Imagine her surprise when a no-name horse from another world pips Twilight to the post.

Now imagine how surprised the no-name horse himself must be.

Set around 313: Magical Mystery Cure in MLP:FiM and during 103: Razz in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

It might be the fanciest bed she's ever needed to sleep on, but the thing is, Rainbow Dash can't get to sleep.

Spitfire has some thoughts on why that is, since she can't sleep either. And so, Rainbow Dash takes the plunge into some decisions about where to rest her head.

I'd written this anyway but it is also an entry to to the Right Back At It Again! contest, because sometimes the important moments in a relationship are the conversations you have with each other. It won 4th place.

Becoming a Wonderbolt Reserve is probably the best thing that's ever happened to Rainbow Dash, and she doesn't want her party celebrating it to end. Fortunately Pinkie Pie won't rest until Rainbow Dash decides the party's over. And she hasn't said that yet.

But how should two ponies carry on partying when the rest of the party has gone home? Pinkie Pie knows the answer: a race. In the end there's more on the line and on Dash's mind than simple celebration or victory, though.

It was Rarity's birthday and Sweetie Belle had baked a cake for her, because cake was certainly one of the best parts of a birthday.

As it happened—perhaps unsurprisingly, given Sweetie Belle's certainty—Opalescence thought exactly the same thing. Sweetie Belle didn't know that until it was too late, however.

Spike's fed up of Outer Yakyakistan, a perpetually frigid land of biting wind, blinding snow, and little else. No one actually lives here, not even the yaks themselves. Twilight's company is the only silver lining, but even she can only lift Spike's spirits in short bursts. He wants to go home to Ponyville.

But as they clamber up the final mountain in Outer Yakyakistan, the wind changes. Spike becomes sure that he's been here before. Except... he hasn't. Not in living memory. So why does it feel like he's already home?

While Applejack automatically tunes out the normal background noises of Sweet Apple Acres, out of place sounds always get her attention, even gentle ones. She notices such a sound while heading back home for supper, and finds Fluttershy in the orchard. The reason for Fluttershy's visit turns out to be one Applejack hadn't thought of.
