Struthiomimus was used instead of Ornithomimus.

The timeframe between the K-T extinction and the present day was 65 million years.

If you’re all wondering “What’s with the narration?”, I combined both the ITV airings of Prehistoric Park, narrated by David Jason, and the Animal Planet airings, narrated by Jim Forbes, with just a bit of my own narration. Just to clear any confusion.

I know, but the Struthiomimus species in Hell Creek was called Struthiomimus sedens, not Struthiomimus altus from Campanian Canada. So I decided to use that species instead of Ornithomimus.

And I did my research on the dinosaur extinction and watched Netflix’s Life on Our Planet, and I can confirm that the K-PG extinction event occurred roughly 66.04 million years ago.

In other words, I’m making the creatures, locations and time periods completely scientifically accurate as possible.

Are you planning to add more adventures after Supercroc? I got a few ideas in mind if you're interested.

Well, I saw a trailer of a documentary called “Forgotten Bloodlines: Agate”. It’s based on the Agate Fossilbeds and narrated by none other than Nigel Marven himself. Maybe I can do a mission into Miocene Nebraska.

Here’s the trailer if you want to watch it.

https://m.

What other prehistoric creatures do you want Nigel and Fluttershy to rescue from extinction after SuperGator {that’s what I’m calling episode 6 because Deinosuchus was actually a prehistoric dino-eating alligator}? Let me know in the comments below!

11755104
maybe they can go after spinosaurus or even velociraptor

11755229
Nigel did have a close encounter with Velociraptors in the Chased by Dinosaurs episode "The Giant Claw", but I might also have him and Fluttershy rescue Therizinosaurus and Deinocheirus from Cretaceous Mongolia, 70 MYA. and the raptor rescue mission could take place roughly 75 MYA.

You know, when I first watched the Prehistoric Park series, I think that line "The meanest and scariest of them all" really showed T. Rex's menacing side. And if you’re wondering why T. Rex ran at 16 miles per hour instead of 40, well, it’s very simple. In the fourth episode of the 2003 series Dinosaur Planet, Little Das' Hunt, it was mentioned that if T. Rex ran 40 to 45 miles per hour, it would've had 80% of its’ muscle mass concentrated in the legs. Physically impossible. Its’ thigh and shin bone were nearly the same length. Meaning T. Rex was moving more like an elephant than a roadrunner.

Here are a few I have in mind:

Spinosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus

Giant Moa, Haast's Eagle

Australian megafauna: Diprotodon, Megalania, Procoptodon ( however, a new prehistoric kangaroo fossil has been found who's size exceeds that of Procoptodon)

Paraceratherium, Daeodon, Hyaenodon

Titanoboa

Australopithecus and/or Gigantopithecus

Megalochelys

Some marine reptiles and creatures like in Sea Monsters, maybe I'll show a list

Pterosaurs: Tropeognathus, Pteranodon, Tapejara, Quetzalcoatlus

Edaphosaurus, Dimetrodon

Scutosaurus, Inostrancevia, Diictodon, Coelurosauravus

Archaeopteryx, Stegosaurus, Anurognathus, Allosaurus, Brachiosaurus or Diplodocus

Ambulocetus, Embolotherium, Moeritherium or Arsinoitherium

Pelagornis, Columbian Mammoth

Anktlosaurus, Iguanodon, Utahraptor, Koolasuchus Leaellynasaura

Euchambersia

Brontoscorpio

Dodo

Therizinosaurus, Protoceratops, Velociraptor, Oviraptor

Megatherium, Doedicurus

Megaloceros

But whatever you wanna do is fine.

11755755
Wow! All of those sound amazing to rescue. I don’t know which one to choose.

11755759
Glad you like them. Choose whatever you want.

I know they gave the Haast's Eagle the name Hieraaetus because it's related to smaller species. But honestly, his original name Harpagornis is much better. I couldn't think of a more badass name for the world's largest eagle.

Could you possibly have Nigel and Fluttershy bring back at least ONE more triceratops (if not more)?
Preferably a young female about the same age as Theo. Triceratops are social animals, Theo will never be happy if he's alone. Same goes for mammoths and terror birds (presumably).
Also let's be real, Triceratops DID NOT behave like a rhino!
At least in terms of how they lived, they were more like buffalo

11755755
Don't forget Amphicyon Ingens and Moropus

11755759
Why not go for the full set?
Prehistoric Park only had 1 season, anything after that is for you to decide.

When I post chapter 2 of this series, you might be surprised about two of the ferocious residents that Nigel ever rescued, because they’re not the only ones of their kind to be saved in this fimfic.

Hey, who knows? Maybe next year, someone on YouTube could do an audio drama of this.

11755921
Hmmm, maybe I might give Theo a girlfriend. But we’ll have to wait and see.

11756022
I think I know exactly what you mean but for the sake of keeping it a surprise for everybody else I won't spoil it

Just posted chapter 2 and hold on to your butts, because there’s a big surprise for you readers. Two predators from the prehistoric past have company with them this time. If you want to see what I mean, then read it and weep with joy.

11756073
Sorry for posting this chapter real early, no hard feelings. But I want you and the rest of the Prehistoric Park fans to see their favorite beasts with a third member Nigel could’ve rescued.

I’ll take a break for a while, because on Friday, my family and I are going to Michigan to meet up with family. Until then on Sunday, see you soon!! :pinkiehappy:

11756027
that would be awesome if someone did that because it could get more people intrerested in Prehistoric Park since not a lot of people talk about it

If you’ve all watched Apple TV, then you might’ve seen two shows starring dinosaurs and famous naturalist David Attenborough. They’re called Prehistoric Planet and Prehistoric Planet II. For a little nod of Chased by Dinosaurs, Fluttershy will be going back in time alone to witness the stories of the Cretaceous Period, 66 MYA. I might publish the story by December 5th, 2023.

PERFECT! Well done man! Thanks for including my suggestion
Now we need at least 2 mammoths in addition to Martha (1 male and another female)
I recommend having the individual killed by the hunters changed from Martha's sister to her mother, and having her sister be with her at the time (also injured by the hunters as Martha was)

Besides the cave bear, woolly mammoth, cave hyena, wolves, the Ice Age hunters and Elasmotherium, what other Ice Age beasts do you want Nigel and Fluttershy to see and possibly rescue in Episode 2?

11756141
I might do something like that, and I’ll make Martha’s sister the only one not injured and helping the explorers fend off the wolves to protect her sister. If not, I might have to follow the same storyline as in the original. But if I do include Martha’s sister being still alive and brought back to the park, what should I name her? Any suggestions?

11756248
they could try to rescue cave lion, the irish elk and the American Cheetah

11756250
I don't know, Mary? Marissa? Marcella?

11756331
Good ideas, but one problem.
The episode takes place in ice age Europe, and as its name suggests the American cheetah is found in North America

11756331
If they do rescue the Irish elk I would prefer they rescue a small breeding herd

11756250
Great but how would Nigel and Fluttershy get close to Martha if her sister was there and she wasn't injured? I imagine she wouldn't be happy to see humans

11756342
Maybe during the night sequence, she protects the trio {Sci-Twi, Nigel & Fluttershy} from one of the wolves, eventually warding the pack off and gaining the humans’ trust once she sees their intentions to help her and her sister.

11756348
I guess that makes sense
But maybe have something bigger than wolves show up as well.
Actually as a nod to a previous suggestion have a small group of cave lions attack and Nigel leads them into the portal while Fluttershy stays to protect the mammoths

11756336
11756337
oh right i completely forgot that they would be going to prehistoric Europe maybe they could go get one some other time and yeah a small breeding herd would make sense for the irish elk

One or two of fluttershy's friends could also come a long on certain missions

11756360
Yeah, I was thinking of Twilight for the first trip because in this fanfic universe, her favorite extinct animal is, in fact, the woolly mammoth.

11756248
Megaloceros and the Cave Lion seem like a great opportunity. And perhaps Coelodonta, the regular Woolly Rhino.

Some of the first horses like Eohippus or Propalaeotherium could work since it's an mlp crossover.

Seeing as the next chapter will focus on Mammoth Undertaking, here are my own two suggestions:

1) The first trip Nigel & Fluttershy take to the Ice Age, I might consider changing the setting to ~4,000 years ago on Wrangel Island because this is when/where the last Woolly Mammoths (albeit a slightly smaller subspecies) were before they became extinct. Due to this change in setting, the duo would encounter creatures such as Polar Bears (replacement for the Cave Bear), Arctic Foxes (possible replacement for the Cave Hyena?), Arctic Wolves (replacement for the Gray Wolves), Musk Ox, Reindeer, Walruses, etc. This change would only apply to their first trip. For their second trip (where they get vegetation for Martha), the setting would remain the same (150,000 years ago on the mainland) with maybe a few extra creatures?

2) Besides Martha (Woolly Mammoth) & the Elasmotherium; Nigel and Fluttershy should also attempt to rescue the Cave Bear during the first trip (if I decide to keep the original setting) & a few Megaloceros during the second trip.

And if you’re wondering where the thylacine family and quagga herd live, the thylacine family live near Nigel’s den while the quaggas live at Mammoth Mount.

11756360
And I might also add Pinkie, Twilight and Sunset for Dinobirds with special guests Chris and Martin Kratt, Sunset and Pinkie for Saving the Sabertooth with Saba Douglas-Hamilton and special guest Dave Salmoni, Rarity will join the duo in the Bughouse {just to help get over a fear of bugs} as well as famed YouTuber Coyote Peterson, and for SuperGator, it’ll be all hands on deck, as the Mane Six, minus Pinkie, Applejack and Sunset, go to Prehistoric Texas with special guests Greg Erickson, the returning Kratt Bros. and the Irwin family, consisting of Terri, Bindi, and Robert Irwin. Does that sound like an all-star zoologist cast?

11756742
Wow you are really going all out for this

11756727
I vote stay with the original setting, so they can save the full size mammoth

OOH may i suggest palaeoloxodon falconeri? Smallest elephant ever at 3 feet tall
