Chapter one

School was just let out for half term and Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack where walking through the halls as they gossiped about who knows what, when they were interrupted by the site of Rarity quickly making her way towards the girls from around the corner. Rarity wore a light blue top with puffy short sleeves that matched perfectly with her royal purple skirt that was held up with a dark purple belt, she had on gold bracelets on each wrist and finally, her iconic knee high, purple boots. After a few seconds of running towards the girls, she stopped in her tracks in front of them, panting.

"Uh...Rarity, Are you okay?" Rainbow Dash asked as she tilted her head to Rarity.
Rarity soon caught her breath and looked at the girls. Her expression was one of extreme excitement and she was practically hopping up and down as she spoke.

"I just got asked to plan out this years school dance!"
The two other girls looked at each other, confused.

"Isn't this years school dance in a week or so? How are you gonna plan somethin' like that in such a short time?" Apple Jack asked Rarity as she raised a brow. Rarity scoffed at Apple Jack's comment.

"Its what I do, Darling!" Rarity said to Apple jack in an almost sarcastic tone. There was a brief moment of silence as the two other girls looked at each other and smirked.

"Listen, Rarity," Rainbow began. "I know you're exited about this but there's no way you could plan out a school dance from scratch in barley a week." Rainbow Dash chuckled quietly to herself at Rarity's enthusiasm. Rarity's mouth gaped and she laughed sarcastically.

"Of course I could!" She put her hands on her hips as she waited for Rainbow to respond.

"Oh come on Rarity! No one could possibly do that much is such a short time." Rainbow kept her gaze on Rarity as she spoke.

"Do you want to bet on that?" Rarity asked as she smirked at the two girls who stood before her. Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack looked at each other for a moment, smirked, and then returned their gaze back to Rarity, who had remained in the exact same stance as before.

"Yes!" Rainbow Dash extended her arm to Rarity but Apple Jack stopped her quickly.

"Now, Now, Rainbow," Apple Jack began. "What's in it for us?" Apple Jack raised a brow to Rarity as she spoke. Rarity sighed.

"What if...I compete in that race you wanted me so badly to join?" Rarity crossed her arms as she spoke. The two girls looked at each other and their faces lit up.

"Deal!" Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack said in unison as Rainbow once again reached out to shake Rarity's hand but was confused to see Rarity only looking at Rainbows hand. "Uh...Rarity?" Rainbow said, confused. Rarity raised a brow.

"And...if I win," Rarity began as she saw Rainbow lower her hand. "I get to give you two an amazing makeover!" Rarity said as she jumped up and down at the thought of it. The two girls grimaced but soon let out a annoyed sigh and shook Rarity's hand firmly.

"Its on, Rarity." Rainbow said as she smirked.

Four days into the half term, Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack were still confident that they would be the ones to win this bet and they couldn't wait to see the dreaded look on Rarity's face she realised that she would have to compete in a cross country run with the two girls, until they received a phone call from Rarity later that day, that is. Apple jack was the one to pick up the phone and Rainbow just watched in anticipation and her heart sank when she saw Apple Jack's expression go from one of relaxed to one of dread. She hung up the phone and turned slowly to Rainbow Dash who was bouncing up and down in anticipation.

"So? What did she want?" Rainbow Dash asked as she looked at Apple Jack.

"We lost." Apple Jack said mater-of-factly as she watched Rainbow's expression begin to match hers.

"What?! There's no way she actually-"

"Look." Rainbow Dash was interrupted by Apple Jack as she held up a picture of the perfectly decorated hall.

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me!"

Rarity was in the middle of stitching up one of her recently made dresses when she was interrupted by a few knocks at the door of her shop. She set her things down and began to walk excitedly to the door. Rarity swung the doors open to reveal Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack who were standing reluctantly at the threshold.

"Oh, good! You're here!" Rarity said as she began to lead the two girls inside. Rainbow Dash groaned as Rarity sat them both down in two seats in her dressing rooms.

"Rarity...do we really have to do this?" Rainbow asked Rarity hesitantly.

"Of course you do, darling! You lost the bet, fair and square." Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack both sighed as Rarity left to go get some outfits for the girls to try on. Soon enough, Rarity was back with a huge pile of clothes in her hands and she gestures for Apple Jack to stand and follow her to the other dressing room. Apple Jack sighed, lifted herself up from her seat and slowly followed Rarity into the dressing room. She was handed her clothes through the curtains and almost fainted a the sight of the outfit.

Apple Jack simply stood in the dressing room doing nothing for a good few minutes as she couldn't believe that she was actually about to wear this, but soon enough, she finally wrapped her head around the fact that she didn't really have a choice and soon began to get changed. She struggled into a pair of white high heeled boots and almost fell over whilst trying to get them on. She put of a fitted, light blue, long sleeve, crop top that complimented her skin tone perfectly, she then put on a white skirt alongside a belt that matched beautifully. She struggled for a good few minutes before she finally put her diamond shaped earrings in. There were two golden bracelets on each of Apple Jacks wrists and finally, a white side scarf. Apple Jack looked into the mirror in horror, she couldn't believe she was actually wearing this. She hesitantly stepped out of the dressing room where Rarity was waiting patiently. You could hear the clinking of the jewels she had on from a mile away and the shine on the white skirt could practically blind someone.

Rarity made her towards Apple Jack to fix up her belt.

"I don't know why you don't wear stuff like this more often, you look nearly as fashionable as me!" Rarity said with a quiet chuckle.

Apple Jack let out a sigh followed by a fake smile.

"Come on!" Rarity said as she grabbed onto Apple Jacks wrist and led her back into the room where Rainbow Dash was quietly awaiting her turn. Apple Jack tried to resist but, her efforts were pointless as she was practically dragged back into the main dressing room. Rainbows eyes widened at the sight of Apple Jack and she soon began to burst out with laughter. Rainbow was basically rolling on the floor as she clutched her middle and tried to compose herself. Apple Jack glared at Rainbow as she slowly began to pull herself together.

"Ah' don't know why you're laughing, Rainbow, its your turn next." Apple Jack said in smug tone. Rainbow Dash almost immediately stopped laughing and her face turned to one of horror. Before Rainbow Dash could protest, she was pulled into the dressing room where Apple Jack had just gotten changed.

Rarity pushed Rainbow Dash into the dressing room and handed her a pile of clothes as she did so. Rainbow Dash closed the curtains and inspected the outfit Rarity had chosen out for her and she felt sick as she looked through them. She let out a long sigh and began to get changed.

She fitted herself into a sparkly, pink, shoulder split knee dress that scratched uncomfortably against her skin as she knelt over to put on her golden, open high heels. Rainbow Dash nearly fell over as she slid on her white fur collar blazer due to her lack of experience in high heels and she felt like she was going to over heat due to the amount of fur on the blazer. Much like Apple Jack, Rainbow Dash struggled to get her heart shaped earrings in, but soon enough, she was wearing them and finally put on her heart shaped necklace and slowly walked out of the changing room to Rarity.

Rarity clapped her hands a few times and squealed with excitement at the sight of Rainbow Dash.

"You look so good, Darling!" Rarity said in an exited tone but Rainbow didn't answer, she simply glared at Rarity as she was led back into the main dressing room. Rainbow Dash looked down as she walked and, like Rainbow, Apple Jack burst out into laughter causing Rainbows glare on Apple Jack to intensify. Rainbow Dash walked over to Apple Jack and sat down next to her as she looked up at Rarity who also seemed to be holding in laughter.

"There, Rarity, we played dress up with you, can we go home now?" Rainbow Dash said in a smug tone as she glared up at Rarity. Rarity walked over to Rainbow Dash an kneeled before her as a sarcastic smirk appeared on her face.

"Darling," Rarity began, "The day hasn't even started yet!" Rarity said as she stood up in front on Rainbow Dash. Apple Jack had stopped laughing at this point as her face was now filled with dread.

"Seriously, Rarity?!" Apple Jack said as she stood up to face Rarity. Rarity smirked.

"Of course, now come on, we need to finish your makeover!" With that, she took both of he girl's wrists and led them into another room filled with makeup and hair products, and much to Apple Jack's and Rainbow Dash's dismay, there was two dressing tables that sat before them. Rarity gestured for the girls to take a seat. They sat in front of the mirrors that sat in a frame with light bulbs inside. The two girls looked at each other, frowned, and then turned their gaze back to Rarity who was stood holding hair curlers and a bag full with makeup. Rarity made her way towards one of the girls, set the makeup bag on the dressing table and plugged the hair curler in.

"Ready?" Rarity said excitedly.

"Mhm." Apple Jack mumbled as she grit her teeth.

"Great!" With that, Rarity walked over to Apple Jack and began brushing and prepping her hair for the hair curlers.

Rarity began parting Apple Jacks hair as Rainbow Dash silently awaited her turn and sat on her phone. The sunlight beamed through the window and bounced off of Apple Jacks blonde hair. She could feel the slight heat radiating off of the hair curler as Rarity slowly wrapped parts of her silky hair around it and Apple Jack simply watched in awe as the curls slowly unfolded slightly in Rarity's hand. Rarity continued this process through the entirety of Apple Jacks hair until her straight hair was completely converted to curly. Before allowing Apple Jack to look for herself, Rarity ran her fingers through Apple Jacks silky hair a few times and added some curl cream before turning her seat around to face the mirror. Apple Jacks eyes widened slightly and she leaned forwards and began to run her own hands through her hair, scrunching it and fiddling with her new hair as she looked at herself in the mirror in awe. "Woah..." Apple Jack said under her breath. Rarity shook her hands in excitement for a moment before smiling at Apple Jack.

"I'm glad you like it, darling!" Rarity said in an exited tone as she took a quick glance at Rainbow Dash, who was still on her phone, almost oblivious to her surroundings. Rarity walked over to the back of the room and left Apple Jack to her own devices as she began to get to work on Rainbow's hair. She walked back over to Rainbow Dash, holding some hair straighteners and a brush in her hands. She lightly tapped Rainbows shoulder, making her jump slightly.

"Oh, Rarity..." Rainbow sighed. "Well...lets get this over with." She said, as she slowly turned her seat away from the mirror to face Rarity, who was sat on a stool behind her, holding smoking hair straighteners in one hand and a brush in the other.

Rarity got to work quickly and began to brush Rainbows colourful hair, It almost glowed in the afternoon day light that seeped in through the windows through the small cracks in the blinds. Rarity sprayed some heat protectant on Rainbows hair and began to part it, wrapping it around the straighteners and twisting them so that there would be a prominent, bouncy curl at the ends. Rainbow Dash waited, not so patiently, for a good half an hour, until Rarity was finished. Before revealing to Rainbow Dash her new hair, Rarity brushed the curls to give it more volume and bounce. She slowly turned Rainbows chair around to face the lit up mirror once again and Rainbows mouth gaped.

"So, what do you think?" Rarity asked, waiting in anticipation for an answer.

"Its...nice..." Said Rainbow Dash hesitantly, hoping she sounded somewhat believable.

"Hmm...good!" Said Rarity after a few seconds of awkward silence. "Ill be right back." With that, Rarity left the room to go and get something, leaving Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash alone. Rainbow leaned over her chair towards Apple Jack, who was sitting all too comfortably.

"Is it over yet?" Rainbow Dash whined to Apple Jack, but made sure to keep her tone quiet. Apple Jack shook her head, sighed, and lifted her arm to point towards Rarity, who was carrying two bags that were full to the brim with makeup. Rainbows eyes widened at the sight of this but she knew it would mean next to nothing if she protested against the rest of the makeover, so she simply gripped the arm of the chair tightly and gritted her teeth as she saw Rarity sit the two bags and a mat that held many different makeup brushes in front of Apple Jack. Apple Jack looked down at the bags and brushes, then back to Rarity who was smiling warmly, clearly eager to continue the makeover. Apple Jack let out a dramatic sigh as Rarity turned her chair to face her once again, holding a small tube of primer in her hands. Apple Jack put on an obviously fake smile, but , Rarity appreciated it nonetheless.

Rarity began to gently apply the primer to Apple Jacks skin, causing it to practically glow as the lighting hit her face perfectly. As Rarity continued to prep Apple Jacks face for makeup, she couldn't help but be impressed by how smooth and supple Apple Jacks skin was, seeing as she spent most of her time in a barn surrounded by germs, it took Rarity by surprise at how seemingly perfect it was. Once the primer had been applied, she laid it down on the dressing table and picked up an eye shadow pallet and a small brush. She lightly grazed the brush over a beautiful light blue shade that matched perfectly with her outfit. She held the brush up to Apple Jacks face and held her chin to keep her steady.

"Close your eyes, darling." Rarity said as she held the brush closer to Apple Jacks eye. Apple Jack closed her eyes and waited for the sensation of the brush dabbing against her eye lid. Once it did, Apple Jack couldn't help but feel relaxed as Rarity applied the eye shadow to her eyelids, painting them prominently in blue. Rarity set the eye shadow pallet and brush slowly back on the dressing table and she picked up some black mascara.

Rainbow Dash, much like last time, was just on her phone as she sat there, dreading her turn.

Rarity opened the mascara bottle and pushed it up and down a few times before bringing it slowly up to Apple Jacks eye lashes. Apple Jack kept her eyes closed, not knowing what to expect. The mascara coated her lashes perfectly, making it easier to see just how long they really were. This step didn't take long as, Before Apple Jack knew it, Rarity had told her to open her eyes and wait there for the next step. Rarity was holding a a bright red, pigmented lipstick. It sat in a gold case and looked very expensive, but Apple Jack didn't dare ask. Rarity tilted Apple Jacks head up by her chin and looked at her as she held the lipstick to Apple Jacks lips. Apple Jack opened her mouth and Rarity began to coat her already tinted lips red. Apple Jack rubbed her lips together to coat them more as Rarity set the lipstick back into the makeup bag.

"Hmm...there's just one more thing we need to do!" Rarity said as she pulled out some red nail polish, almost the exact same shade as her lip stick. Rarity hooked up a blue, UV light into an extension lead. She reached out for Apple Jacks hand and laid it on her own knee as she began to brush the red pigment over Apple Jacks nails. A few coats later, Apple Jacks makeover was finally done. Before she turned her to face the mirror once again, she quickly sprayed some perfume onto Apple Jack and clipped in some diamond shaped hair clips into her hair. After that, Rarity turned her seat around to look into the mirror. Her eyes widened as she inspected herself closely.

"Don't you love it, Darling?" Rarity said as she practically jumped up and down with excitement. Apple Jacks mouth gaped as she looked at herself in disbelief and slight horror.

"Its...ah' cant even recognise myself, Rarity!" Apple Jack said, trying to sound sincere whilst also trying not to lie. Rarity let out a quick: "Hm!" Followed by a sweet smile.

She then turned to face Rainbow Dash, who was surprisingly already looking their way. She covered her mouth with both of her hands and her eyes were watering slightly as she looked towards Apple Jack. Apple Jack let out an annoyed sigh followed by a wave of the hand, signalling to Rainbow that she could have a laugh pass. Rainbow burst out laughing once again, pointing a finger to Apple Jack as Apple Jack sat there, unamused, and waiting for Rainbow Dash to regain composure. After a few minutes of laughing Rainbows laughs died down as she gasped for air and finally let out a long exhale.

"Are ya done?" Said Apple Jack in a smug tone. Rainbow nodded and quickly looked away from Apple Jack, trying not to burst out into laughter again. Rainbows smile faded as quickly as it came though, most likely due to the sight of Rarity standing beside Rainbow Dash with the same two makeup bags and brushes she had just finished up with. She sat the bags and brushes on the dressing table in front of Rainbow Dash and turned the seat to face her as she did for Apple Jack.

"Uhm..Rarity, do I really-"

"Of course you do, Darling. Apple Jack did and so do you." Rarity cut Rainbow off as she had gotten ever so predictable with her complaints these past few hours.

As she did for Apple Jack, Rarity began to apply primer to Rainbows skin before adding any makeup on. Her skin wasn't as impressive as Apple Jacks, but, for someone who has practically spent her life running and sweating, her skin was quite good too. Once the primer was set in, Rarity put it down and picked up the eye shadow pallet once again, dabbing it across a pink shade, tapping off the excess, and grazing it softly against Rainbows eyelids. The colour was extremely noticeable and complimented Rainbows skin immensely.

Apple Jack was sitting in her seat quietly, waiting patiently for the inevitable moment when Rainbows makeover would be done and she would have to sit there, enduring Apple Jacks rude, yet playful, remarks.

Rainbows eyes fluttered as she kept them shut, showing off her long eyelashes. Rarity set the brush and eye shadow pallet down on the bright dressing table and picked up some mascara to compliment her lashes further. She gently coated her lashes, every stroke left them longer and more volumized. Rarity stopped once Rainbows lashes had reached her desired length and Rarity gave her the green light to open her eyes. She was still turned away from the mirror but she could see the light coming from within it from behind her, illuminating the dark corners of the walk in wardrobe. Rarity quickly picked up a pink lipstick that was held in a black matte case, and began to pain Rainbows lips with the colour. Once it was applied, she put some lip gloss over the lip stick to make it stand out more. Rarity sprayed some perfume onto Rainbow and sat some feminine sunglasses on top of her head. Much like Apple Jack, Rarity painted Rainbows nails pink to match her current aesthetic and Rarity was basically bouncing on the spot as she slowly spun Rainbows seat round to face the lit up mirror.

Rainbows eyes widened and she stared through her eye brows slightly, She couldn't think of anything to say, not that she'd even have time before her thinking was interrupted by Apple Jack slapping her knee and laughing hysterically. Rainbow simply glared at Apple Jack, waiting for her to stop laughing and regain control of her emotions.

A few minutes later, Apple Jack had composed herself and the two girls sat in their seats with their arms crossed as Rarity smirked down at them, as little did they know, this was only the start of Rarity's side of the bet.
