When Maud Pie was commissioned to perform a geological survey of the stone underlying the Castle of the Two Sisters, she expected to face Timberwolves, hangry coworkers, and lots of silica-rich minerals. But when she stumbles upon a portal buried under the rubble of Celestia and Luna's ancient conflict, she learns that their roles very easily could have been reversed. With nothing but a small pet rock and her trusty core sampling drill, Maud finds herself thrust into a world where magic is useless, water is worth its weight in gold, and survival is far from guaranteed. i love the premise of this story and the execution so far as been superb!! i especially like that you've taken the effort to weave Maud's vast knowledge for geology into the story. i cant say I know how the story is going to play out, (Since magic seems to not work in Daybreaker world, and the obelisks are triggered by it, I can only imagine that Daybreaker herself or some other powerful magic user is going to have to activate it for Maud... that or reinforcements from Equestria pull through) but im very excited to see where this goes!

This is probably one of the best stories I've read on this site recently. An intriguing premise with a nice slow burn to keep up the mystery. The pacing may be slow, but the excellent prose and good characterization is more than enough to keep up interest. I find myself wanting to see where this goes next, and I hope you continue it.
