Locked in a constant fight between perfectionism and incredible laziness

T

The Great War draws towards it's end.

The forces of the United Ponies Alliance advance on the Changeling heartland.

Before them stands the great Hive City of Vraks, the main producer of almost all war material which fuels the Queens Heer. Vrakian Changelings, renowned for their stubbornness and warlike nature, are unlikely to give up their hive without a drawn out fight.

Hoping to solve both problems, the Equestrian Royal Air Force decides to undertake the largest bombing raid of the entire war. Hundreds of aircraft whose sole mission is to wipe Hive Vraks off the map. Under cover of cloud and darkness, they'll drop thousands of tons of explosives and incendiary devices on the war forge of the Queendom.

One Equestrian soldier gets to watch this raid first hoof.

Next month, I'll do a reading for this story. If that's okay with you?

Well this is beautiful. Phenomenal work; you deserved a spot among the winners <3

Thank you! That means a lot, especially coming from the first-place winner! I'm glad you and others enjoyed the story, even if I felt it wasn't my best.

Trust me, I feel exactly the same as you do about my own victory.

My reading of this story for this year's MoM(Month of Macabre):

This is quite nice!
The beginning part resonated with me very well.
I myself have been on watch before. Not real military, of course, but four hour watches late into the night. Standing or sitting there for hours is very tiring. Really good book! Thanks for recommending it to me!
