In what universe is this not kidnapping?! There is no justification for it. It's one thing if Luna adopted them all. But she didn't. It's why I'm glad this was never going to be something would have ever done in the show.

Well, if the government takes children away because they're not being taking good care of, is it kidnapping? In the eyes of the law, I don't think it is. This happens everyday with abusive parents.
No one cared for them and in the story it is not said if the children were willing or not (and even then, doesn't make it more or less of a kidnapping).
I think the story around children of the night is vague enough to allow for this possibility. Celestia and Luna are the law under a monarchy.

If Luna had any kind of sense, she could have adopted them. Maybe not all of them. But there's no reason why she couldn't have, and who is going to tell her no if she wants to do that with a lot of children?
Celestia might've not been fully on board, but she would have no legal authority to stop Luna. And only then, take those Luna couldn't take care of someplace safe.

Maybe she didn't adopted them because she didn't wanted to see her "kids" grow and die before her. Could be the reason why her and Celestia don't have kids.

Yep. This story was written only 2 years after the original video had come out (oh dear I'm old...). I really liked the video (actually even subtitled it in french lol) so I thought I would pay a little tribute. And, well, it went well with the theme of the challenge.
