“What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are.” (The Magician's Nephew)

T

Being tossed into an unknown world isn't a game. Regardless, it is typically a young man's game, barring ancient immortals chock to the brim with equally ancient magiks. So, from a certain point of view, Ron is doing pretty well for a "spritely" 63 year old. Regardless he will have to play the hand he's been dealt, or else die, and likely in a horrible way, regardless of how much his back hurts. Brian, for his part, has at least some youth going for him at 30. But with little more than a love and knowledge of stories to help him out, he's not in the best position he might otherwise be in. Powers or no powers.

Genre: Isekai

I'll give this a shot.

Ok, interesting start.

So this is a one piece based story. Stories based on One Piece are cursed. They all start off well and some even go several chapters very good and grounded, but eventually the curse strikes. They go from grounded and focused, only to jump the tracks and go into the ridiculous and unrealistic to the point where the plot goes out the window and it becomes all about the fruit and the pointless buffs. The writers always forget that the gimmick is not the plot. The gimmick is to support the plot. From that point, the stories always die. Once you find yourself focusing more on what fruit your bringing in next, and how are you going to introduce the fruit, and who are you going to have use the fruit, your stories in trouble because your forgetting the plot.

I honestly hope you can break the curse.
