This is an experiment to tell a story. It is not written like many other FanFic's on FiMFiction. Instead, the story is written as notes, letters, diary entries and other historical accounts. In a sense, it is non fiction used to tell fiction. Have a read and tell me what you think.

This story begins 341 years before the present day. It is a time of industry and innovation. The technomagical revolution has begun, the event that would secure Equestria's place as one of the leading superpowers in the world. However, it is also a time of strife and suffering - conditions are harsh as Ponies are spurned under the heel of progress. One eccentric Pony sets out to change all of that.

What happens instead however, is one of the darkest pieces of history to happen in Equestrian History. Here now is the story of what happened, collected together from the historical accounts of those involved.

Rated Teen because this one is a lot darker than anything I've written before it.

I was never planning on posting comments, but this, THIS, deserves a rare comment from myself and a fave!
I look forward to the continuation with much anticipation!
Also, congrats in starting what I'm sure many people will come to use in the future.

Now this looks interesting, unlike some of the other drabble on the site!

Wow, I've seen this format in a few books, but never like this. Thumb and Fave.

This story. IT IS RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS.

Fav, like, and watch!

Thank you everyone for the comments. If it doesn't look grimdark now, it should be getting a lot darker in later chapters. We had planned this out for some time now. My only concern is if I actually have the chops to pull it off...which is completely untested :twilightsheepish:

eh, grimdark is okay, but throw in some comic relief occasionally. It helps to break the space up and offer some time to recover for the reader.

Wells! WELLS!

GRAHHHH! I love that guy!

1333722 See if you can guess the books. Two are very obvious. One is much more obscure X3

Excellent! This story just keeps getting better and better!

Did you base Verne of Sonny from "I, Robot," by any chance?

1359899 I never thought about that when I was writing, though now you mention it they do sound pretty similar. However, Sonny was not in my head when I was writing Verne at all. I have a bad habit of making coincidences -_-

1359952 Well, they're very, very similar.

Anyway, this is honestly one of my favorite stories on this site right now.

1359992 Glad to see someone thinks that way.

1360054 Well, I'm serious. This is one of the best things I've ever read.

1360062 And hopefully I won't drop the ball before the end. Stuff is about to get real, yo X3

Oh man. Shit just got REAL.

1590192 And where were you when Shit was getting real? X3

So there's a surprise, unexpected spike in viewing around March the 30th. Did I miss something? :pinkiecrazy:
