11678549 Alright! Time to read the new Lightendark chapter!
(1) Ah, so Brutus created the Mi-Go or at least was studying it before it was stolen and given to Chrysalis? Interesting. But at least now with his help the situation could be improved a bit-
(2) And of course Fiery appears and decides to take Brutus away. Happy to see him again! He might have very rough edges and a very bad moral compass, but I guess that's why I like him here.
Though I love how Brutus interacted with Fiery, it really ticked him off lol. Fiery also really wants to see Chrysalis dead, though I imagine it's more so for personal reasons that he wants her dead than the potential thousands or millions that could die.
And of course, Fiery has the familiar aura of the Burning King, just waiting to be unleashed.
(3) So what, once Fiery does become the Burning King, will he be transforming? Will his rage just consume him enough to be classified as a Burning King type? Did the Burnings King reincarnate Fiery or something? Were there multiple Burning Kings before?
Either ways it's very cool that Fiery is given this possibility of becoming such a destructive being.
(4) Fiery does his best to play a King Sombra move by flaunting his power over Merry. Unfortunately, King Sombra is just such a unique character that it makes anyone else doing similar things feel like a budget version of him XD
(5) He's really off the hinges if he thought that raining down firepower onto the village was the best play. If the Crystal Army and Beatrice teamed instead of making it a chaotic three way then even if the result was the same, there would be much more unity. Since they did not do that, nobody is giving up any of their useful information, making things much more complicated than needed.
(6) Nani?! Subtle scars on his-?! Ok, just how did Fiery get that level of injury in the first place? A fire accident? Explosion? Onoma going out of control when he first discovered it? I'm confused!
(7) Hey! Don't trash talk about Thunder Storm! He's more of a stallion than you, Fiery Kickstarter from Lightendark! The only reason he's dead is because it would've made things so much easier, and that would break the number one rule of Lightendark which is that nothing good or easy happens to the characters!
Even though Thunder is likely to become a weapon that would be used against Equestria, he probably prevented total loss even though it might've seemed like a fiasco!
(8) Hmm, speaking of weapons, wonder what would be Fiery's reaction if a controlled Snowy was ordered to fuck him as a way to taunt the stallion, to show that he had no control, that it was all over, and that he was weak. I already skimmed into the future and saw that Chrysalis took control thanks to some external help (Vox), so I wouldn't be surprised that Chrysalis would used Snowy and Thunder to taunt / fuck Fiery.
And this all pushes Fiery past his limit, all of his rage causes him to become the Burning King. Perhaps Chrysalis gets killed which wouldn't be a huge loss to Omen since Midnight's world is a second theater.
Especially since that would be with the exchange of a revived Burning King
(9) Ouch, Merry sure gave Fiery a low blow. And even though Fiery was being distracted, he blames the soldiers. He might've not have been stupid enough to have been killed by a controlled Tree Hugger, but he basically did the same thing.
At least Merry has the opportunity to give Hammerfall an advantage.
(10) Like seeing the other characters interact. Even though I don't say much about the Demi Humans or Kyube, Kitsuné, etc, I really do appreciate them. They give even more like to Lightendark and I like them.
(11) Yeah, truly Moonlight's POV has been one of unpleasant experiences. Midnight turning into a jerk, Moonlight losing her wings, her trust in Shining, everything just hurts for her.
Wonder if I should write a story where she's the protagonist so that she might be happier? Wait, Wolf Tamed kind of counts like that, and well current ideas for Midnight's origin story seems to indicate that being a protagonist only will lead to more suffering than usual.
(12) Wonder if this Doctor Reanimator will become part of the cast. And of course, nobody on Beatrix's team really takes kindly that Brutus is here.
(13) Lmao, indeed most of Beatrix's team are those who are trying to atone for their sins. Is there anyone who hasn't done anything bad at all?
Probably Eclipsed and Lightning, they're the most recent members. Everyone else did something wrong at the bare minimum to something extremely hurtful on average to something beyond repair at the most.
(14) And now the bomb has been dropped. Brutus showing the photo of him, Tatyana, and Omen reminds me a bit of the memory about Mortis and Shadow being 'friends'.
And of course this leads Beatrix to snap, feel the immense torment from Omen, and accidentally throw Dion into a table.
Yeah, Omen is very dangerous. If the duel against Metatron and Mortis proved to be extremely challenging at many points, then Omen is literally the final boss.
(15) I guess all of the previous lines and connections in the story make sense if they were worshiping She'Ba. Honestly a fitting deity beyond reality for Beatrix's side of the story, given that lust and sex is what her story is about. Metatron / Yellow King was a perfect fit for Zeloph's story likewise.
(16) New rule for Lightendark! Everybody has to screw up in the worst way possible for them or else they're not part of the story! And in this case Brutus created a connection with She'Ba and Omen was given her milk. And he also recreated Tatyana and ended up losing control over her :/
Yeah, this also ties with how nothing good or easy can happen to any Lightendark character. Cause Brutus went through a lot. Feel sad for him.
(17) Hmm, Fiery is not going to be happy when he hears that Beatrix is in Hammerfall and that Brutus promised to defend Hammerfall.
*Cue more reckless destruction
(18) Can't help but say that the things that happen in the Hive, though terrible, are so hot. Some parts do make me feel a bit uncomfortable, but they like all scenes they're extremely well written.
At least Sombra came to save Cerise again? Given what I skimmed later though, eh… debatable.
(19) As much as Sombra and the others throw dirt at Midnight's name (not without warrant, this Midnight has done some bad things), Sombra is literally the true definition of an alpha while Midnight barely hovers in the beta zone.
Sombra saying that he doesn't hide himself under a facade along with the other things he says and does makes him the best non-OC character of Lightendark!
(20) Was Cerise being captured canon to Aba's future? Cause if Sombra is successful with his idea of knocking up Cerise, then ahem.
I guess if all else fails, present Aba will end up having a new friend to have?
(21) I'm now starting to wonder what did and what didn't happen in the future timeline. Considering how much more presence Omen and the others are having in the current timeline, it's likely that things were a lot more peaceful in the original one.
Maybe Midnight never committed this level of sins, cause I remember he was hit with at least two sex dreams, one of which Omen interrupted, the other was a reveal to She'Ba.
Maybe Cerise wasn't captured and instead Midnight and Cerise dealt their problems more directly (finally) and things became more manageable. And Penumbra never is possessed by Sombra. Chrysalis probably doesn't become as powerful as she has become?
Shadow probably still dies, it was indeed a nasty move from Mortis, and she's revived like normal.
Beatrix doesn't deal with any nightmares, though I wonder if the Necronomicon was also destroyed in the future.
Just so many things to think about in regards to the future timeline.
(22) So sad that Penumbra was pushed back down and now Cerise is pregnant. Again, I guess we'll be seeing a different future for her, because she's probably now going to get pregnant. Oof.
(23) I don't know if Cerise is capable of having a baby removed and then have made the two siblings with Midnight in the future timeline, which goes to show that Cerise being captured and Penumbra being possessed probably didn't happen in the future and that Midnight's Hyper Stallion problem was solved before his outburst or enough direct action was taken that Future Midnight and Cerise were happy.
Absence of Moonlight's child implies that Midnight did screw up or that Moonlight died, and I find death to be more likely since maybe the relationship could've been potentially salvaged had Cerise and Penumbra not been captured. Which would be sad, another person that had a terrible life from start to end. :(
(24) Oh yeah I forgot about Vox being that thing. I guess Sombra is now possessed. A posser is now the possee.
Of course, Sombra is probably right that Chrysalis would be disposed of if tides shift enough. Midnight's world is the second theater. A way of bringing forward the rise of the Burning King (Fiery) and a possessed Cerise (if my interpretation of the game board was true).
But damn, Penumbra no! Now he won't be able to speak at all in the future! If he's even allowed to live. Cause again, he along with everyone else has an increased chance of dying.
Cause it wouldn't be Lightendark without the rule that nothing good could happen!
(25) I do hope that Sombra will break free and kill Chrysalis! I want that to happen! Or better said I want somebody to kill her whether that'd be Cerise, Midnight, Fiery, someone!
She needs to die, and if it requires sacrificing someone who was meant to live in the future, I'll happily offer Midnight again! XD
*Midnight is currently yelling at me for making that joke for the 100th time. But I'm very sleepy right now, so ideas are starting to become whack.
(26) Cerise has yet to fully corrupt eh? So I guess that'll take one more chapter?
(27) anyways can't wait to read the next chapter!
I guess if there's any theory I should repeat it's that Future Moonlight probably died, Cerise and Penumbra weren't captured and Midnight's Hyper situation was a lot more controlled or damage was minimal. Fiery will become the Burning King after Snowy and Thunder taunt fuck him, because that would be a Chrysalis thing to do. Please somebody just unalive Chrysalis! I'll happily sacrifice Midnight, though another likely outcome is that Cerise kills Chrysalis and becomes corrupted at that moment, pushed so far off the edge. And if Cerise becomes pregnant, this probably proves that the future was a lot more better for everyone until it wasn't and then everyone perished thanks to Future Omen.
11695383 3. The impending return of the Burning King is not so straightforward. 6. A combination of both, perhaps? 7. Since when was that a rule? 11. I don't believe that counts at all. 13. Cerise/Eclipsed Heart. They've had strives of discourse with other characters (notably Zell, Seb, and Equinox) but haven't really done anything appalling on a consequential level. The same can be said for Lightning, the members of S.L.U.Ts, Sixth Measure, and, by technicality, Iclyn. 14. Misconception. Metatron/The King in Yellow was never fought. Just shooed away back to the background, where he will remain indefinitely. 15. I've been building up to She'ba/Shub'Niggurath since the saga started. She's the cause of Midnight's lust-induced dreams. 16. Again, not sure why you're declaring all these 'rules'. 21. We'll get a glimpse of what Abby's timeline was like in a story later down the line 26. Omen's shenanigans with her aren't a form of corruption.
11695383 I've tried to keep a balance between good and bad events in the series, if anything I think casualties should probably be higher considering what's happened but I don't want to casually kill characters with potential!
Fiery's burns will definitely be explained down the line.
Got to work so I can't formulate a longer reply, but I'll add more answers to your comment later!
(6) You haven't decided how it happened? Well I guess it doesn't matter that much, but it's still would be interesting to know more about Fiery.
(7) Well, when has a Lightendark character had it easy within this universe? Maybe I shouldn't have said "nothing good or easy" since good and bad things always happen. But still it feels that in order to be a Lightendark character something bad, really bad, has to happen.
I believe every single main character went through a really bad experience, am I right? Well, how can I explain the side characters?
Cause the Future Aba Timeline exists and the reason she came to the past is because it was the only way for something good could occur cause Omen took over in the future and it's possible everyone is dying, dead, or under his control, with her multiverse under the threat of becoming nothing.
I believe, or at least hope that she's aware of the possibility that just returning to the past alone means her future no longer exists as it's been severed, unless this is a multiverse theory like DBZ. Because if she is aware, that makes her a brave character cause once the past catches up to her, she'll no longer exist.
Damn, Aba is going to have her life reset, three times now? First was the life she was meant to have, then she became the daughter of Zeloph and Beatrix, and then she became the daughter of Omen, Oona, and Beatrix. And if her future ceases to exist that'll make it a fourth time?
But going back to the main topic, it's hard if not impossible for Lightendark characters to go through their journey and not experience anything horrible.
(11) Hm, yeah you're right. Wolf Tamed was just a short story. So I guess maybe a Moonlight POV should be made???
(13) Is Eclipsed band really part of Beatrix's group? They're on the same side but they're not like in Beatrix's groups which seems to accept those who have done or will be doing wrong so that they could atone their sins. Oh and people who are rude to each other if you want to count Iclyn and Arcanum. And all of these characters also have bad things that have or will happen to them which wraps Lightning into that group since she lost an eye and was a prisoner of war for multiple years.
(14) Ah, well I guess that is true.
(15) Well I don't know much about Eldritch Horrors and Deities. Still I love how you led up to this.
(16) Is there any evidence to the contrary? Nobody in Lightendark has had a long good live, because then it's always interrupted by something terrible.
And Beatrix's entire group is mostly filled with people who want to atone their sins because of a massive screw up they did.
(21) Very nice! Can't wait to see her future and come up with more theories!
11695383 3. I've wondered myself and assume The Burning King is a legendary archetype certain individuals can ascend to.
12. I've considered it, but with the large cast and various mad scientists already in the series (Varys, Viscera, and Kilroy to name a few) I decided against another villain for the moment. I figure if he does appear, it would most likely be a flashback of him releasing a chemical weapon on the day Arcanum and Bloody Merry fought side-by-side in a battle that led to Merry's death.
13. I strive to make most of the cast very flawed while trying to walk the delicate balance of keeping them likable. Of course, Beatrix likes to collect allies that have fallen, partially because she's done many questionable things herself, even if most of them weren't intended maliciously and were more thoughtless. For instance, one of her first major allies was the Smooze, since she identified with an amoral outsider that was figuring out what it was and had done bad things.
Oh, and don't forget, Kitsune and Wispy are ex-assassins so they also seek atonement...well mainly Kitsune, as Wispy wants to compartmentalize their past.
23. Yep, Moonlight's had really rotten luck. Shame as she's my favorite of your OCs, but I tend to put the cast members I like most through hell!
11696085 (3) And now Fiery has the chance to become the Burning King. Was that always the case or in the original timeline (Pre Reset) he wouldn't have become that angry?
(12) Ah ok. Yeah I guess we already have a lot of villains.
(13) Yeah, I do like everyone, though I guess I was a bit miffed when I saw my main OC being a jerk. It's ok, because now I can happily say that he should be sacrificed! XD
(23) bruh. Yeah Moonlight, based on my theory of the future timeline, probably ended up dying in the future since if things were following the current timeline, there should've been an older kid in Aba's drawing if Cerise did get pregnant (which she probably will be and I doubt that Cerise would be capable of aborting and then still giving birth to two kids from Midnight). Since there isn't, Cerise and Penumbra weren't captured and by proxy the situation with Midnight was much more controlled. If this was true, then Moonlight probably would've still been in the herd and the lack of a child from Moonlight indicates that she died in the future, just like how it's being hinted that the Twins that Dion has didn't made it either.
Now everyone has a greater chance of dying! Sacrifice Midnight lol!
Actually now thinking about it, Fiery probably didn't become the Burning King during the future version of the current events, but now Fiery is at more risk at becoming him due to the pressure being much more higher than before. Difficulty went from Death Mode to Nightmare, where death probably is mercy in disguise.
11696104 3. Without the influence of Beatrix and Omen, Fiery and everyone else in Midnight's world possibly end up wiped out, first facing an invasion by Chrysalis and later by Sombra? I'm treating the first Burning King as his own entity, as Nota did give him a backstory and it gives the impression he comes from ancient times?
13. Midnight is still young, so going through a jerk phase gives him a chance to mature. (Think of it as the equivalent of his angst teen phase I guess?)
11696366 (3) Well without any influence from Beatrix or Omen, wouldn't Midnight's timeline have remained unaffected and never had gone through the terrible events that it's now going through?
And as for the Burning King, yeah I guess it could just be a ungodly transformation one who's beyond rage would obtain. But maybe there can only be one Burning King and after being yeeted into a black hole, Fiery now has that familiar aura.
(13) Never thought I would hear that Midnight was in a teen angst phase. Being a Hyper Stallion gave him divorce and infidelity problems. But if he hadn't been a Hyper Stallion he likely would've died very early on. Unless he somehow got an Onoma, but I don't think this world would've allowed him to obtain one in time.
11696440 3. It's possible Midnight's world would die out completely without Beatrix's interference, difficult to say. After all they'd still face Chrysalis and her swarm, followed by the rise of Sombra, events which mashed together in this path. Fiery would remain a wildcard that could attempt a coup anytime during the wars.
13. A common theme in the series is characters who never really grew up and need to mature. Beatrix, Cerise, Midnight, Lightning, and Eclipsed, to name a few.
11695383 You want to get spoiled? Reanimator is Dr. Herbert West fuzed with General Deathshed and Rasputin. Not to mention the endless amount of inspiration from Bloodborne and John Carpenter's The Thing. And easily the single most evil motherfucker I have ever written.
11700656 Did the cover change again? I honestly feel is constantly does every time I look at the story. That and I forgot how the cover looked when I commented on the change.
nice work, as always. and the fault goes again, eh

(26) k
Really liked reading this chapter. It was fun!

I offer Midnight as a sacrifice XD
Yeah, that's why I say there are rules in Lightendark, because if you look at it, those rules exist.
Cool, can't wait to know more about Fiery. Can't wait to see more of your responses to my comments!

(3) And now Fiery has the chance to become the Burning King.

11696366
(3) Well without any influence from Beatrix or Omen, wouldn't Midnight's timeline have remained unaffected and never had gone through the terrible events that it's now going through?
And as for the Burning King, yeah I guess it could just be a ungodly transformation one who's beyond rage would obtain. But maybe there can only be one Burning King and after being yeeted into a black hole, Fiery now has that familiar aura.
(13) Never thought I would hear that Midnight was in a teen angst phase. Being a Hyper Stallion gave him divorce and infidelity problems. But if he hadn't been a Hyper Stallion he likely would've died very early on. Unless he somehow got an Onoma, but I don't think this world would've allowed him to obtain one in time.

You want to get spoiled? Reanimator is Dr. Herbert West fuzed with General Deathshed and Rasputin. Not to mention the endless amount of inspiration from Bloodborne and John Carpenter's The Thing. And easily the single most evil motherfucker I have ever written.

Ah cool
11700637
Yep! Sadly, can't find a decent Chrysalis/Sombra anthro pic to use as a cover, so this will have to do!
11700656

Did the cover change again? I honestly feel is constantly does every time I look at the story. That and I forgot how the cover looked when I commented on the change.
