11445007 well, if she would see one of the soldiers still having morales (or whatever would be the right term here) would she care/spare him, or would it not matter for her?
11445009 It wouldn’t matter if the soldiers did show some morals. At the end of the day, they chose to help/serve Fiery Kickstart and support his darwinistic ‘breed-more-soldiers’ ideology. The are the enemy. It’s as simple as that.
11445053 Depends, Moonlight would likely kill anyone that abused Marathyssa or if necessary, but since she was raised in the military and considered it her family, I believe she would hesitate.
11445090 Pretty much the same, Moonlight would consider them enemies, as she's never trusted Fiery even before his plans were revealed, and his soldiers enforce his will.
11445122 Well, she's been facing more seasoned soldiers, rather than the cadets she spent time with, some of which have died or sided with Shining and are likely confined to quarters/imprisoned.
Part 1: (cause I'm definitely not doing this in one go and I've already lost 2 bullet points on my phone oof)
(1) I really like the dynamic between Lightning and Deinos, they're very well written. Like he's been feeding her, keeping her safe from all hostiles, is against the current state of both The Hive and The Army, and hasn't immediately fucked her. Within this world, I think he's one of the better characters morally in comparison to many others.
I also like that he's the Iclyn and Arcanum to Lightning Spark. But he feels more like a wake up call to Lightning compared to the others who start at a bit more hostile foot.
And he's a useful recap for readers as to what's going on in the background while naturally bringing this info to Lightning. Noice.
Yeah, Lightning and Deinos really work well in the story.
(2) Considering that in Shining Force unicorn horns were also made, as well as Foal Bearer connecting a unicorn horn and pegasi wings to her body, I simply thought it was just the manipulation of magic itself. But now it seems it's more on the line of the soul itself being distorted, forced to keep on living in limbo so that it's magic can continue to exist.
I also like Deinos dilemma of who could he go to help figure out how to free these souls trapped in the unicorn wands.
Wait, were the souls from Beatrix's world released? Or are they still trapped? Or do they function on a different rule of law?
(3) And now for clop! And these two were meant to be banging each other
I like how even though it wasn't her intention to ride Deinos's full size she ended up doing so anyways! She must've been *stretched*
I like how the scene transformed when Lightning asked Deinos if he could change into Web Spinner. Feels very wholesome. Though I do find it funny seeing Lightning react to Web changing into Midnight, but it's like how she said. That Web was the only one who seemed to care for her when she came out of the hive.
And honestly, that's kind of true.
How big is Web Spinner btw?
And yeah, this scene is *very* hot. And I guess it's good that Deinos can't knock up Lightning, though I wonder if that could still be a possibility somehow. Cause I ship them.
(4) Considering that drones are indistinguishable from each other, his prior experience with changelings, his fate of his mother etc, I can't blame Midnight for trying to kill Deinos, who I gotta say held very well against him. He could probably 1v1 Midnight and Equinox based on him slowly overpowering Midnight, tanking their attacks, and almost ripping Equinox's bones from their sockets.
But maybe Midnight should take moments to think? Cause now he's getting to the point where he can't simply go Hyper willy-nilly. He's now at a point where his Hyper strength is slowly losing its power, either because of his age or his soul simply unable to maintain such stress as it used to, or both.
I would compare Midnight to the First Super Saiyan Vegeta described in DBZ who ended blowing himself up with his power. I mean, in theory, if Midnight trained his soul, he *might've* been able to reduce the year loss, if not completely remove that worry. His body and soul would be properly trained to handle the stress.
It's a good thing Lightning wasn't knocked out by Deinos's intense fucking, as she was able to stop everyone from killing each other with her Onoma! And she apparently can control the cosmic storm?
Seems she, the pendant, and maybe the souls of this world could help fix the dimensional tear? Worse case scenario, this dimension will get sacrificed.
11447932 In my old lore the unicorn horns contained residual magic, these are likely upgraded since the Cult of the Nemesis has more knowledge here and thus can trap souls of those they're taken from in them...
Oh, and everyone dead pretty much went to pony heaven at the end of Shining's Force 2!
11448221 My initial characteristic for him was that instead of changing into ponies/animals, he could transform into military based vehicles like a tank or helicopter. Admitted a cool concept, but had a real hard time fitting that into a setting that’s still pretty magic based like Midnight’s world.
As for the actual question, Deinos’ full height is about 8’4”, so I recon his dick size is between 14-16 inches.
11448386 He identifies as an Apache attack helicopter!
There are steampunk style designs pulled into Midnight's world (such as Moon Hammer's designs for his works), so maybe Deinos could turn into a clockwork vehicle?
So here is the thing. The Cult of Nemesis seems to be dogmatic and mysterius, with some entity guiding them.
I wonder how this world survived so long without developing gunpowder or medium to long range weapons?
Not every unicorn or pegasus can learn to be proficient enough at Magick to use it in active combat, it takes a rare combination of intelligence and viciousness that isn't available to everypony.
War Mages at least in my settings are more like Demolition Experts and Weapons Smiths than active frontline soldiers. Most of the time due to how long it takes to train them, and how valuable the knowledge they tend to study is in the first place.
In his youth when he was in the Gallic Foreign Legion Folklore hid that he was a proficient Magus from a family of Druids with a Spiritual Medium mother because he was suicidal and also didn't want his intelligence and knowledge to be weaponized.
And this is validated when he is captured, imprisoned, and forced to make a solution. He is at fault because his solution was freaking Flesh Melting Gas, and he learned in the battlefield that he was in fact afraid to die.
Midnight for all his apocalyptic war background along with Lightning Spark, and several other characters too have not experienced a Weaponized Industry.
None of them have experienced the horrors of Machine Guns, Tanks, Chemical Weapons, Weaponized Zombies, Disel-Punk Cyborgs, Sapient Alien Shrimp-Mushrooms that have ships and can even fly in space without them, or Death Rays.
11448795 That is true, when World Wars 1 and 2 happened, it was so impactful that it shaped the world afterward. Until that point, every new, deadlier weapon was viewed as a way to win, no matter the cost. but when the price began to become so high that millions died, in painful deaths, it tore down a lot of things and made nations unstable.
Ah, I almost forgot you have the Cult of the Nemesis as well in your world. How different is it compared to Beatrix's? Or I guess this version of yours is a sort of upgraded threat?
I was brought in to Beatrix's universe before knowing a lot about it.
But to be frank I have every cult, alien and terrestrial species, and Magick found in the Cthulhu Mythos in the Of Heroes and Monsters universe. Not to mention a magical system loosely and sometimes closely pulled from the Occult traditions from our own world.
The Thule Esoteric Order in The Symphony of Canterlot is based both in the real world Thule Society and the Conspiracy Theory version of the Freemasons
The Mi-Go are wholly an H.P. Lovecraft invention and they are the first Aliens in Sci-Fi to Abduct and Experiment on Humans. For further information here is the Audio Book version of the original H.P. Lovecraft story "The Whisperer in Darkness".
11448795 Shadic has argued societies depicted in my lore would've likely developed more advanced weaponry, my excuse is a combination of magic making it less necessary and not wanting entire cast to be wielding guns. (Boring imo.)
However, there are mages that specialize in behind the scenes stuff, such as making runes that empowered Shining Armor's equipment. Also, I've noted there are cannons, ballista, crossbows, etc. here. Explosives also exist here.
In the case of the Cult of the Nemesis, they've come from Beatrix's world, each world has a different 'tech level'. (Cyberverse where Kitsune comes from is very advanced for instance.)
11448867 I don't remember well, but I think I might've said something else? The only thing I remember is how I speculated how Shining Force's world could've acquired military technology, cause such a process would normally take a long time. Equestria is not an industrialized country. Sure, they were able to achieve some form of it in the Crystal War Timeline, but that was with Equestria united using all of its resources, but here they're not.
Sci Twi probably has a monopoly on military tech given that she would have to have subdued the military powers of her world to conquer it. Unless humans don't invent weapons which is basically the most un-human thing ever. Humans like to go to war, and without magic, they would use bullets. But yeah, Sci Twi would have a monopoly over human weapons as even if Time Turner reached the idea of creating guns, I think it would be really hard for his forces to acquire said weaponry due to lack of factories in Equestria.
Until I guess they're able to successfully raid one of Necro Twi's depots using purely magic. Casualties would be high, but I imagine this would explain why Shining's army doesn't just, die. That and pockets of civilizations would try and industrialize, but I still doubt that they could, unless you count Las Pegasus, but Shining's Forces didn't know about it.
Ah, now I remember what I talked about. I was talking about how guns could've entered the lore of Shining Force.
And honestly, now that I'm revisiting this topic, now I wonder why their military technology isn't that advanced. Sure, with Shining's army I would scoff at the idea of them creating tanks, but Sci Twi? If she did conquer her own world and face their military, she should have tanks, airplanes, and other powerful things!
I guess the Necronomicon scoffed at the idea that it'd need technology to win when the solution was magic.
But I do agree that seeing the entire cast using guns while a Necronomicon, a deadly magical artifact, exists would seem so out of place. I think a reasonable explanation is that within Beatrix's world, guns and magic are equally as effective. In the world of BABS, magic is weak and it forces people to create advanced technology. And yes, in Shining Force there are many moments of gear getting magically enhanced, specifically Rarity upgrading Shining's silver armor (before he gets plowed by War/Big Mac)
11448907 Yep, another thing I forgot to add is that of course as shown with Wispy/Kitsune, advanced tech breaks down easily around magic, as they're like oil and water. Likely attempts at making guns and the like have blown up in the faces of inventors?
However, tech that has a more fantastic bent (such as clockwork tech) is far more resistant to such breakdowns?
11448907 The Necronomicon was made up by Lovecraft in fiction in a time where guns where available and with enough money you could buy a Tommy Gun from a frigging hardware store.
11448915 Which in my twisted brain doesn't make much sense. Wizards in a weird way invented gunpowder here in our world. But then again in fiction where Magick and Tech are two sides of the same coin and Magick IS the fuel for all the tech it can be argued.
11448915 Perhaps the reason magic works in some worlds and technology in others is how thick the concentration is.
For example, in a world where magic concentration is even, technology and magic don't need to fight each other.
However, in a world where only magic can thrive, I imagine that perhaps it's so powerful that it becomes what we know as lightning/energy. And thus, when somebody brings advanced machinery that relies on electricity, it can't work because magic literally smothers it or has a weird charge that prevents the machinery to work.
With gunpowder and the earlier versions of electric current, I imagine it just promptly blows whatever is being made into little pieces.
In a world where only technology exists, there's just so little magic that it can't be useful in any form, think Equestria Girls before the Element of Harmony gets used there. There just aren't enough 'electrons of magic' to conduct any sort of spell. And the inhabitants can't produce it itself. Hence I do finally realize why they say artifacts are the most powerful types of magic, and we see that in G5 where artifacts still have power but all the races lost their ability to use it, their world sucked entirely of magic.
In a world where neither technology or magic works, I imagine just energy itself is dead, neither form can have enough to work. It's basically tribes because there simply isn't enough power to do either. Though I imagine if Beatrix were to land inside one of those worlds, since she has the ability to warp dimensions, I imagine eventually her magic pours into the world enough to help her leave again. But now whatever world she falls in would have a potential kickstart reaction to turn it into a magical one. And same process for if a technological world enters the null electric zone, the energy pouring between dimensions able to fuel the energy needed to begin creating technological advancements.
This is kind of a rough idea of how I imagine magic and technology zones working. Probably needs some edits
11448940 Different lore, magic in mine is depicted as science from an alternate universe which bends the known rules. One inspiration for me was the Doctor Who episode Battlefield, where a demon called the Destroyer is King Arthur's universe equivalent of a nuke. Shadic is right about concentration of magic in the air affecting tech.
A clever mage or inventor could fuse the two (See Moon Hammer combining two sets of magic and cyber wings for Moonlight), but it involves a very delicate balance; equation slighty off and it'll go boom!
11448939 Oh, another thing to keep in mind is that the Necronomicon in my lore is cheekily implied to be written by the author (myself), basically there's only one in my lore and it travels between universes.
11448941 Since we’re on this, I’ll throw in my two cents.
The same thing applies to Onoma’s. They’re inherently at their strongest when there’s less technology interfering with the natural flow of magic. But instead of casted spells becoming weaker, arcane magic draws on the user’s energy until depleted.
One upside from the cosmic disturbance is that the flux between collapsing dimensions allows outside magical sources to refill those reserves very quickly. That being said, it would also aid in things growing more unstable if your a frequent and powerful spellcaster like Beatrix or Tatyana.
11449012 One idea I had is that while Fiery applies flammable material to his sword, the spark that ignites it may actually be an Onoma similar to how Lightning can spark up, with Fiery unaware as he thinks it's simply a sleight of hand trick he's come up with.
Basically, he and Shining potentially cheated in their duel!
Part 2: (5) Wait, how powerful if Lightning Spark's electric storm overcharged with the cosmic storm?!
Looking up in Quora, for an average human, 200 Million watts over one second would be required to vaporize the average human. And even more for a faster kill.
is this how powerful Lightning's overclocked storm is?!
(Nah, given it's a decoy made out of leaves, of course Lightning's lightning isn't that extreme... Right? *Nervous laughs*)
(6) I do wish that Beatrix could see the birth of Aba.
Right now I imagine Midnight is in his 40-50s, approaching Shining Armor's age in SF1-2. He's still strong but no longer in his prime, especially since his soul is slowly losing the ability to handle the Hyper's stress.
The cast reacting to Lightning and Deinos having fucked was funny. Stockholm Syndrome and Iclyn roasting Beatrix lol.
This time the recap of the hidden problems was shorter, which I like as now Beatrix's team know everything that's going on. Which unfortunately means they have no allies.
I wonder how things will go down once Deinos, Equinox, and especially Midnight, wake up.
(7) I like how Moonlight's scene starts with her acquiring the toxins she had hidden, shows how prepared she is. I also like the stallions just gawking at the Crystal maids. My hypothesis is that given Fiery's plan, he knew that stallions are easily convinced with sex, and banging the enemy would be a real turn on for many.
Perhaps he has some real veteran troops who sincerely hated the changelings enough to overthrow their own nation, perhaps those fanatics that charged at Shining Armor or kept fighting even when Shining was tearing them down with his Hyper boost. But I'm guessing he's underestimating how rookie the lust-recruited soldiers would be.
Especially when it comes to defending key targets. He should've made posted veterans to watch over Moonlight, but I'm guessing there aren't many after so many years of war, and those that do exist are doing other things.
Wonder what happened to Thunder Storm's original army. Most are probably dead.
Part 2 End (Cause my phone ended up restarting and deleting (8). I almost lost everything! See, I told you I hate commenting on Mobile!)
(But I guess that means next comment would be about the clop! Huzzah)
11449415 Feel you on losing what I've written, I copy stuff to a program called Writer Plus on my phone.
Thunder Storm's army were likely absorbed into Shining's, since they're less extreme compared to many of Fiery's. And yeah, Fiery is forced to split his soldiers everywhere, which Moonlight and Moon Hammer have taken advantage of to slip by!
11449427 Yeah. And I know Copy and Paste has a a word limit. Always makes me worried.
Ah, I thought Fiery's still contained a great amount of Thunder's troops, those bitter by the loss of their people and their captain. And the more lustful recruits were those Fiery bribed with clop
11449435 Run into that problem myself when Nota and I edit, really annoying.
I'm sure Fiery has tempted some of Thunder/Shining's forces over with the temptation of mares, as Fiery encourages every mare to bear children in return for money. Unfortunately, this can lead to a loss of discipline in his men, as seen with the guards posted on Moonlight.
Nicely done! Cant blame midnight for protecting his sister. I hope though...how she lost her virgnity wont be too akward later or something.
Interesting lore at the start too.
Moonlight having no regret aginst her former comrades, i wonder now something
11444783
Thank you! What do you wonder?
11445007
well, if she would see one of the soldiers still having morales (or whatever would be the right term here) would she care/spare him, or would it not matter for her?
11445009

11445050
sure, i just meant, like when clearly hesitating about breeding, or conscripted, not really having a choice
11445053
Depends, Moonlight would likely kill anyone that abused Marathyssa or if necessary, but since she was raised in the military and considered it her family, I believe she would hesitate.
11445088
okay, what if she sees one soldier hesitating t touch Marathyssa or actually cares for her?
11445090
No one is getting spared.
11445091
if you say so
11445090
Pretty much the same, Moonlight would consider them enemies, as she's never trusted Fiery even before his plans were revealed, and his soldiers enforce his will.
11445121
okay, just popped in what if she recognizes one she had befriended/ she has one at her mercy and he begs to be spared
11445122
Well, she's been facing more seasoned soldiers, rather than the cadets she spent time with, some of which have died or sided with Shining and are likely confined to quarters/imprisoned.
11445143
okay. as i said, ws just wondering out loud. could be they try to brainwash the cadets though or smething
11445145
I imagine Fiery is trying to convert/indoctrinate cadets loyal to Shining or doubtful to his side.
11445172
so, cxould be possible?
11445180
Sure, anything's possible, although Moonlight probably won't have that chance!
11445186
okay
Shub-Niggurath?
11447023
Not a direct inspiration, but definitely comes to mind!

Oh, and everyone dead pretty much went to pony heaven at the end of Shining's Force 2!

Also congrats on 100k words here

Perhaps the reason magic works in some worlds and technology in others is how thick the concentration is.

Different lore, magic in mine is depicted as science from an alternate universe which bends the known rules.

Oh, another thing to keep in mind is that the Necronomicon in my lore is cheekily implied to be written by the author (myself), basically there's only one in my lore and it travels between universes.

Since we’re on this, I’ll throw in my two cents.

Very cool! Thank you Nota.

One idea I had is that while Fiery applies flammable material to his sword, the spark that ignites it may actually be an Onoma similar to how Lightning can spark up, with Fiery unaware as he thinks it's simply a sleight of hand trick he's come up with.
Basically, he and Shining potentially cheated in their duel!

Who's to say we can't make it canon?

Fine by me! Shadic's OCs all appear to have elemental themes.
Part 2:
(5) Wait, how powerful if Lightning Spark's electric storm overcharged with the cosmic storm?!
Huzzah)

Feel you on losing what I've written, I copy stuff to a program called Writer Plus on my phone.
Thunder Storm's army were likely absorbed into Shining's, since they're less extreme compared to many of Fiery's. And yeah, Fiery is forced to split his soldiers everywhere, which Moonlight and Moon Hammer have taken advantage of to slip by!
11449427
Yeah. And I know Copy and Paste has a a word limit. Always makes me worried.
Ah, I thought Fiery's still contained a great amount of Thunder's troops, those bitter by the loss of their people and their captain. And the more lustful recruits were those Fiery bribed with clop

Run into that problem myself when Nota and I edit, really annoying.
I'm sure Fiery has tempted some of Thunder/Shining's forces over with the temptation of mares, as Fiery encourages every mare to bear children in return for money. Unfortunately, this can lead to a loss of discipline in his men, as seen with the guards posted on Moonlight.
11449441
Indeed, especially with the newer generation that had 0 knowledge of discipline.
