A most wonderful proposal

Lyra woke up she got out of bed yawning she went to brush her mane and teeth and when she finished she looked in the mirror and said to herself "alright todays the day you can do this" she went to her room and used her magic to put on her saddle bag and the she picked up the ring box and held it in front of her face opening it looking at the ring the diamond was in the middle of two gems one blue and one yellow the colors of each of their eyes she closed the box putting it in her saddle bag.

There was a knock at the door lyra went and opened the door seeing Octavia and vinyl scratch she smiled at them and Octavia asked her "are you ready for today?" they were the only ones she had told about her plan she nodded trying to hide how nervous she was vinyl saw this and put her hoof on lyra's shoulder

"Its okay to be nervous I was when I proposed to tavi and she said yes" lyra smiled remembering vinyl and Octavias wedding but she didn't know if bonbon would say yes like her "sorry but I have to go i'll tell you how it goes later"

they nodded and she left closing the door behind her running to meet bonbon at sugarcube corner for their date day she passed by other ponies but didn't pay attention to them not even looking at their faces today was too important she could feel her heart beating like it was about to burst out of her chest when she saw sugarcube corner and slowed down and walked inside and she looked around and saw bonbon she felt calm seeing her bonbon made her feel at peace.

Bonbon walked to her smiling "hi lyra wanna get breakfast?" lyra nodded bonbon smiled walking with lyra to get some sweets from the cakes pinkie pie was at the counter when it was their turn pinkie smiled at them and said
"Hi lyra hi bonbon what can I get you guys?"
Bonbon replied "I'll have a strawberry cupcake" pinkie nodded getting one out
"And you lyra?" lyra replied
"I would like a oatmeal cookie" pinkie got one out they both paid and left and walked through town window shopping they finished their sweets and took a walk to the park lyra used her magic and made a flower crown putting it in bonbons mane she smiled at her lyra felt her heart skip a beat

they went back to town when all of a sudden a bunch of apples with stem legs and arms and mouth ran through town lyra and bonbon didn't notice at first but when they did they both felt a small twinge of panic as they saw ponies running in terror lyra turned bonbon to face her bonbon looked at her confused lyra got on two legs getting out the ring box holding it in front of bonbon in her hooves opening it "bonbon will you marry me?"

Bonbon turned away and lyra frowned thinking she was leaving when bonbon turned back at her with an open ring box as well "only of you marry me" she said to her lyra started crying as did bonbon they hugged each other and kissed the chaos around them disappearing all that mattered was that they had each other

One year later

Bonbon looked at lyra they were both in their wedding dresses they were smiling Octavia was bonbons best mare while vinyl was lyra's derpy carrot top lily valley minuette amethyst star were bridesmares lyra and bonbons other friends were all in the seats doctor whooves had a box of tissues pinkie was crying as were the other mane six though rainbow dash tried to hide it rose was also crying it was truly a beautiful wedding flowers were everywhere white streamers were on all the chairs there was a sign that said "pick a seat not a side either way its for a bride" the cake was made by the cakes and pinkie pie there was a swirl of pink of turquoise with two mini brides on the top and candy drops on it this was truly an amazing wedding mayor mare walked to the brides and said "today we are gathered for the union of bonbon and lyra heartstrings they have both prepared vows

Lyra was the first one to their vows "bonbon if you had told me when I was a foal and ashamed for liking mares that i would marry the most beautiful and amazing mare in equestria i would never have believed you bonbon when we met i was in that dark place when we met you showed me that i have nothing to be ashamed of and showed me love when i needed it the most without you i don't know if i could ever be happy you always make me feel safe and happy even when we argue because i stay up late reading about anthropology or when you do your job dispite how dangerous it is i know we will never have to be alone again i love you and i cant wait to be your wife"

Lyra looked at bonbon bonbon was in tears and was smiling it was her turn she began "lyra i love and trust you more then anyone else my life would be empty and bland without you in it on our first date when i got home and told myself 'this is the mare i will marry' i am so happy i was right your the light of my life and i don't want to even imagine my life without you in it the way you get so absorbed in your books the way you always taste test my food and how your eyes always sparkle when you play the lyre and write songs for me that always show how much we love each other this is the best day of my life"

both mares were in tears as was mayor mare who wiped her tears away "do you bonbon take lyra heartstrings to be your wife in sickness and health till death do you part?" bonbon said
"I do" mayor mare looked at lyra
"Lyra heartstrings do you take bonbon to be your wife in sickness and health till death do you part?" lyra said
"I do" then mayor mare said
"with the power vested in me as mayor of ponyville i now pronounce you wife and wife you may now kiss the bride" lyra and bonbon kissed and held each other everyone cheered and they both walked to the ceremony in the park

Lyra and bonbon were at the brides table when lyra was pulled into a tight hug she looked up it was her vinyl with Octavia beside her vinyl said "i told you you could do it congrats" Octavia laughed
"Yeah congratulations" lyra giggled pulling out of the hug
"Thanks you were" right and after a while it was time for them to go on their honeymoon they hugged their friends and family saying bye to them

They boarded the train to take them to their honeymoon in the crystal empire they went to the caboose to wave bye to everyone lyra stood beside bonbon they kissed before waving bye as their picture was taken they went inside later to start the rest of their lives
