Chapter Six: The Last Saga

When Sonic enters the laboratory room, Dr. Robotnik attacks him by using four large engine pistons. These pistons are able to easily crush Sonic against the ceiling or floor. Every time two of four pistons come out; one decoy, and one with Dr. Robotnik laughing inside of it. Sonic must attack the piston with Dr. Robotnik in it. Each time the pistons move, Sonic is able to attack Dr. Robotnik once. However, the player has to be careful depending which pistons will come out attempting to crush Sonic. Also, between each piston cycles, there is a small electric generator creating four spark balls that descend from the ceiling towards Sonic, who must dodge them. When the generator is creating and aiming these spark balls, the player has to choose a place to stay to avoid them. Due to the absence of rings, touching a spark ball results in instantly losing a life. The player can target them to the center of room and then do a Spin Jump to dodge them completely or can stay at one far side of the room and move to the other as the spark balls are fired. After this, another two pistons will appear, and the battle keeps repeating the pattern. Like every other boss in the game, Sonic must hit Dr. Robotnik eight times to finish off the doctor for good. After landing all eight hits, the pistons start exploding and Dr. Robotnik escapes from the room. Sonic must follow him, as Dr. Robotnik hops into his Egg Mobile and starts flying away. During this time, the player has two choices although it does not affect the outcome of the game; either the player can let Sonic jump and finish off the Egg Mobile causing it to explode and slowly fall down into the bottomless pit at the end of the zone or the player can also simply let Dr. Robotnik go.

A small electric generator created four spark balls, which floated towards Sonic, who avoided them as Dr. Robotnik continued attacking Sonic. "Curse you, Sonic!", Dr. Robotnik screamed as he fell to his death. Sonic opened a ring portal and went back to Twilight's castle, where the celebrating heroes were waiting.

"No more Eggman in your world, little buddy", Sonic said to Classic Sonic. Classic Sonic gave a thumbs up and ran through the ring portal, which closed behind him. Sonic held the seven Chaos Emeralds and transformed into SuperSonic. He used every bit of energy he had to repair Equestria after Chaos's rampage. "Chaos... CONTROL!" Equestria was enveloped in a dazzling light. After what seemed like an hour (though it was actually a minute), Sonic floated down to the ground, the Chaos Emeralds back where they belonged... on Mobius. Sonic's allies left through a ring portal. "Equestria is my home now." However, Shadow and Silver walked through the portal and it closed behind them. Spike flew over and he and the Mane Six joined the trio of alien hedgehogs.

"We're staying with you", Shadow said.

"This world might need more than one alien hedgehog to protect it", Silver added.

"We're in this together", Rainbow Dash said.

"We got your back", Applejack added.

"Indeed!", Pinkie Pie added.

"They're right, you know", Rarity added.

"Yay", Fluttershy added.

"We're a unity", Spike added.

"Thanks to you Sonic, Equestria has been saved", Twilight asked. Kokiri walked over and hugged her father. The other hedgehogs, Spike, and the Mane Six all joined in for a group hug.

In 1991, a legend was born. Destined to save the universe from an evil scientist, this spunky little alien has gone on many adventures throughout his lifetime, but this was by far his most epic journey yet. While some villains saw him as a simple bump in the road, they soon learned that he was a superhero destined for greatness. He's made friends. He's made enemies. Enemies have turned into friends. This time, he found a home and formed a family with a mare he deeply loves. The World Rings were brought back to the world of the Arabian Nights. Infinite was finally destroyed. The Deadly Six all met their ends. Metal Sonic was no more. Chaos was finally calm. Dr. Robotnik finally died. And it's all thanks to this legendary alien superhero who stood and laughed in the face of both imminent doom and danger. This legend's name... is Sonic the Hedgehog.
