This was awesome we got to learn a lot about both there world's.
Hmm ... No mention of possible communicable diseases or sicknesses either viral or bacterial. In addition, in a completely new world, just eating things is a huge risk, both for toxicity to the human body, mold, spores, etc., that might have a harmful effect on him, and that isn't taking into account whether or not the body can digest the contents being ingested.
I am enjoying both the story and world-building that you're doing. I just wanted to point this out, because it is something often overlooked when writing extraterrestrial encounters.

Certainly true! Though a lot of said diseases are quite specialized, only affecting a single creature. And there's not a lot he can do about it, besides get all of Ponyville (by this point) quarantined. Oh, and Canterlot, since Rare Find got close to him and took the train there.
The second part, food and whatnot; again, certainly true! It comes up briefly in chapter one, again in eight, and slightly more explicitly in eleven. Definitely had some inspiration for that from Admiral Biscuit's story, especially the one about ponies being able to drink methanol (versus us measly humans that have to drink ethanol) and how toxic it is for humans.
I feel sad for her; every night, she has to bring the moon up, the subject of her sister's duty, and every time she does she sees what's happened to her sister - what she had to do to her sister.
I imagine Celestia's learned how to hide her self-recrimination from her subjects, but I can tell it tears her up inside all the same - especially since the thousand years are almost up, and she doesn't know what will happen to her sister after she's freed; will Luna be banished to the moon again? Will she have to be put down, being irrevocably crazed? Or - hope against hope - will she be saved, the two sisters reunited?
Fun random facts…
The measurement of a mile is actually based on a unit called a “Rod”.
A “Rod” is 16.5 ft long.
Four “Rod” give you a “Chain”, which is 66 feet, and this is the base unit most surveyors (at least in North America) use today.
When taking a surveying or wilderness navigation class they actually instruct you to measure your pace (distance covered from when one foot leaves the ground until it returns to the ground) per chain, then use that knowledge to ‘accurately pace’ when in the field with map and compass.
“Rod” is still used in things like Canoe portages, where a map may say the measured distance in both “Rod” and meters / Kilometers or miles.
Ten “Chain” is equal to one “Furlong” (660ft), and one Chain by one Furlong (66ft x 660ft, or 43,560 square feet) is a “perfect Acre”.
Eight “Furlong” is equal to one mile (5280ft).
So, a breakdown for someone that takes 15 paces per chain.
If your intended distance of travel is 2.5 miles, you know that there are 5280 feet in a mile, so multiply 5280 x 2.5 and that gives you 13,200 feet.
Divide by 66 (feet in a chain) gives you 200 chain.
It takes you 15 paces to walk one chain, so 200 x 15 = 3,000 paces.
Then all you have to do is keep on your bearing and keep track of your pacing and you should end up at your destination.
note: Actual land navigation is more complicated than that, but this is the basic idea.
If you want to talk nautical navigation… well that is a whole other thing.
Nautical miles are based on minutes of angle (specifically one minute of latitude), and knots are used to measure nautical miles. (1 knot = 1 nautical mile per hour).

There's a story I read somewhere that when humans come to Equestria, they only live a few years as the ambient magic is as toxic to their cells as living downwind from a nuclear test range.
It's something you don't see very many HiE stories.
So is he like. Still naked? I feel like we're missing a few things here - stuff like his clothing situation, and when exactly Applejack started getting sweet on him.
