Damn.

While I'm not going to upvote just yet (we'll have to see where this story goes first), you haven't failed to capture my interest. :rainbowderp:

Seriously though, Fallout + Trains + Ponies, what's not to love?

Alright that's all I could really think of for now... :twilightsheepish:

Still, I am looking forward to chapter 1, best of luck to ya!

Well CamBreeze. Chapter 1 is out. I hope I didn't disappoint. :pinkiehappy:

Alright this was a great chapter, though before I share my thoughts on the whole thing I'm gonna have to point out a few mistakes actually just two things I found that bothered me first;

He wore a ball cap that had the logo of the Equestrian Transcontinental Railroad on it.

Okay this is just minor nitpicking here but technically the classic blue-white striped railroad engineer cap is a Stormy Kromer cap (see this and wikipedia), though I not really sure if you could make a pony related pun off of "Stormy Kromer", so it may be acceptable (and I also I just realized it could have been referring to an actual ball cap that was some sort of pre-war merchandise for the railroad that he just found and decided wear idk).

He gave 3 quick bursts of the horn...

AGH! THAT SHOULD BE WHISTLE!!! REEEEEEEE... Nah, but seriously though it's a steam engine, it should be whistle.

(I could've sworn I found some spelling errors my first time through, but screw it I'm too lazy to double-check on that)

Okay now with that outta the way this chapter, as I already said, was pretty great. It gave some nice characterization to the crew of the Hellbound Express and did some interesting world building. The imagery was really detailed as well and gave a pretty good idea about the setting as a whole. I also really liked the whole flashback sequence at the end with All Aboard and Steamer as those two were way overdue to be in a railroad related fanfic at this point, seriously those guys have been in pretty much every episode were the Friendship Express appears yet they haven't gotten any sort of charactization, neither in canon or in fan works (okay acutally I've seen some fanart of Steamer on derpibooru but that's besides the point), so It's nice to see them finally be used for once.

So yeah, overall really good chapter and once again looking forward to see where this fic goes next. :rainbowdetermined2: Oh, and I've decided to upvote the story now. :twilightsheepish:

Oh and uh... sorry for all the rambling, I tend to due that sometimes. :derpytongue2:

Damn dude! But thank you for the honest assessment!!

"(and I also I just realized it could have been referring to an actual ball cap that was some sort of pre-war merchandise for the railroad that he just found and decided wear idk)"

You would be correct with this sir. But I will give you the horn/whistle. Advice noted.

I agree that Steamer and All Aboard so very underrated and underused. They will be making regular appearances as we progress through the war.

Thank you! And thank you for the up vote!

Stumbled in from the Facebook group, so hi. Reading this I'm thinking 'this is a pony who knows their trains' and also seeing 3133 as the Heavy Metal Hero from the painting by Rodney Matthews;

Enjoyed this start, definately an interesting viewpoint on the Equestrian wasteland and I'm enjoying the characterisation of this merc train crew trying to distance themselves and justify their actions. Is Coal holding out for Red Eye's rad-engine i wonder.

Also cool to see the flashback to the glory days.

Will read on. Choo choo.
