Chapter five is up! Now that I'm done with the Howie Tern interview, I may take a slight break from Frisky Fillies, at least until I finish Adventures of a Teenage Foalsitter.
EDIT: Thanks for helping Frisky Fillies make it back into the featured box again!
1086532 Actually, Howie's opinions on homosexuality mirror the views of irl Howard Stern. Several are direct quotes, as a matter of fact. I will agree though, Stern can can be an abrasive blowhard most of the time.
I wouldn't worry about Fluttershy. She may call sex hotlines to role play her secret fetish, but I doubt she listens to Howie Tern.
Omg I love this story so much u really did ur research on howie I mean all of what you wrote was pretty much what he sayed about bronycon and cloppers I love the irony in this, great job bronystories. And thanks for welcoming me to the site im still figuring out how to use things
1086582 I'm not his number one fan, or anything. I can't stand to listen to the man's show in real life. I only did what research I had to do to make sure I accurately represented his feelings regarding homosexuality and cloppers (or fappers, in the story version.)
If you want to write "Howie's Appaloosa Adventure" featuring a pairing between the griffin and an amorous cactus, then be my guest.
...I don't even NEED to analyze the title here, but for the sake of those that don't see how obvious it is. OneWrongTern Only oneHowie Tern that Lyra and Bon Bon got wrong on first impressions
You're right in that blog post; this is indeed the most meta thing in L&BBOJ.
1086574 Yeah I had heard that and I think that's pretty cool but at the same time I take a lot of issue with how he presents himself and so for me regardless of how openmindedness he's still a jerk. Glad to hear flutters will manage *grin*
At first. The Griffin I thought was going to be a prick. And then...you twisted it around. Seeing as that's a real person it's...interesting. Besides...I had to have a laugh at the end with what Lyra said. Made me bust up. Good on you dude.
I haven't actually heard Stern all that much, but from what I can gather the whole issue on Human lovers and Fappers seems like a mirror version of people's views of Bronies and Cloppers in a sense.
There is something incredibly therapeutic about reading a ponified version of a real life thing that completely demonised ponies. Its like, so meta it hurts, but it makes for awesome comedy!! All in all, very clever.
1087014 When the Howard Stern brony-bashing broadcast first began to circulate throughout the fandom, I couldn't listen to more than three minutes of it before it made me physically ill. When I decided to incorporate it into L&BBOJ 2: Frisky Fillies, I knew I'd have to force myself to listen to the whole thing. I had to make sure that the characters were accurately reflecting their real life counterparts.
As a result, several lines of dialogue are direct quotes from the original broadcast. I can't make up something as stupid as Robin being legitimately surprised that bronies have 'a community.' That level of idiocy only happens in real life.
Wow. Well done, as usual. Noticed that you used the phrase "reach out and touch someone" and wasn't sure if that was intentional. Howie also uses the word "someone" when he's talking about Arborcon, but, again, since he's a griffon I don't know if that's intentional.
Also, I saw that you typed out "4,000" using number characters, but the convention I've heard is to use words if the number can be expressed in one or two of them. But that's just nitpicking.
Fantastic work with this; a step up from last chapter, even. Are you think of bringing more meta content into Odd Jobs?
This is actually really good. I still dont like Howard Stern for attacking the brony comunity like he did but this puts a brand new light on the otherwise blackhearted radioman this was good and i think i am gonna take a second glance at that cadence story of yours
1087162 Yeah. And all that's just style stuff; you're allowed to do it either way. I've heard only writing one to ten, or one to one hundred. The two-word way is just one I've found that seems to make the most sense.
1087704 Aw, shucks. I didn't start out with a goal to redeem Howard Stern. As I researched him though, I saw how perfectly well his complex character worked within the Odd Jobs universe.
1088260 "THIS CHAPTER REVERSED IS TOO ACCURATE BUT ALSO INCORRECT. It scared me TBH." Que? Thank you for the feedback, but could you please explain what you mean by that sentence?

new chapter :D
This confuses my perception of reality.
oh dat title pun
That was priceless, mostly the end, hilarious
*Grins* Very nice. Stern irl is still a flankhole I think but I like your take on him here. hope Fluttershy isn't too traumatized though.
AWWWW YEEAAAAAA!
Wat

Are you trying to make me not hate Howard Stern? Because I still think he deserves to be sodomized with a cactus.
1086582

One Wrong Tern
Only one Howie Tern that Lyra and Bon Bon got wrong on first impressions

1086582 haha stole my line there i see
If not thats a hilarious coincidence
Howie took a knock at Fluttershy and maybe even Rainbow Dash.
I am having Bird and Lion Stew tonight.
All in all, great chapter!
Had me laughing all the way.
At first. The Griffin I thought was going to be a prick. And then...you twisted it around. Seeing as that's a real person it's...interesting. Besides...I had to have a laugh at the end with what Lyra said. Made me bust up. Good on you dude.
Wow, that turned out really god. Of course, I thought Lyra was really going to tear into him, literally.
...how many times has this been featured? i swear ive seen this up there at least twice
on topic: woo update!
I haven't actually heard Stern all that much, but from what I can gather the whole issue on Human lovers and Fappers seems like a mirror version of people's views of Bronies and Cloppers in a sense.
One of the best chapters yet, keep it up.
...
Somehow you just made me redeem a character I thought it was almost impossible to.
Partly, anyways. Jesus.
This story delivers. Keep making it.
There is something incredibly therapeutic about reading a ponified version of a real life thing that completely demonised ponies. Its like, so meta it hurts, but it makes for awesome comedy!! All in all, very clever.
I'll be watching you for sure!
I hated that fucker even before that idiot at Bronycon

1086493 the original end was going to be a bit different. luckily i was able to convince bronystories to change it

Lemme add 'dedicated' right next to 'clever' in my previous comment then. I have yet to bring me to listen to the real thing
1087063
What can I say? You helped me to end with a joke, which is always the preferred way to go out.
1087115
I suppose I can tweak the numbers so that they're written with words. I'm just so used to the AP (associated press) style of writing.
(In AP style, only numbers greater than ten are written in numerical form.)
EDIT: It now reads "four thousand."
This is actually really good. I still dont like Howard Stern for attacking the brony comunity like he did but this puts a brand new light on the otherwise blackhearted radioman
this was good and i think i am gonna take a second glance at that cadence story of yours

"this was good and i think i am gonna take a second glance at that cadence story of yours"
Yay!
1087115
In mixed company, someone is the preferred word to use. Otherwise, I try to stick with somepony.
1087194
1087083
Oh God that Gif just made my day! Is it fromScrubs?
Still laughing.
1087207
Aha. Very nice. Griffons must feel weird when "somepony" is the commonplace form. Those specists.
1087261
Twilight knows how to be inclusive whenever Spike's present.
Did..you just make me feel a shred of respect for a Howard Stern Expy.
My god! How does one get to such a level of excellence?
1087598
Not knowing when to quit!
Seriously though, thanks for the kind words. What about this particular chapter did you feel elevated my writing to a higher level?
1087676 The ability to give the image of a character then completely change it within seconds, along with natural comedy that does not feel forced.
1087704
Aw, shucks.
I didn't start out with a goal to redeem Howard Stern. As I researched him though, I saw how perfectly well his complex character worked within the Odd Jobs universe.
That was a good chapter, got a good couple laughs out of it.
THIS CHAPTER REVERSED IS TOO ACCURATE BUT ALSO INCORRECT. It scared me TBH.
Also,
"You only like lesbians because we turn you on," Lyra said, her body shaking with indignation..."
*shifts nervously in seat*
oh god. why is this so funny? When he talked about sex on the toilet, i just lost it.
1088260
"THIS CHAPTER REVERSED IS TOO ACCURATE BUT ALSO INCORRECT. It scared me TBH."
Que?
Thank you for the feedback, but could you please explain what you mean by that sentence?
I lol so hard when I finish reading a new chapter of this story, please keep up the great work.
