As Archimedes before her, though Twilight disturbed her own circles. And then the circles disturbed back. Hopefully they can fix this before her first class, though it would act as a demonstration of one of the most important lessons any magic teacher can convey: Magic is not a toy.
So, Mrs. Velvet, has Twilight ever pulled anything worse than this?
Human Rainbow Dash: Ha Ha Ha! This is so hilarious! Sunset, is there a way to send this to my pony counterpart?
Sunset: I think that is too cruel, Rainbow. Even I don't share Princess Celestia's cake time photos I took.
Human Rarity: This cape was so drape! You need to add frills to make it even minimal fashionable.
Ask doggy Spike: Are you disappointed that you didn't turn into a dragon like your counterpart?
Silly SciTwi! What did you think was going to happen when you shoved magic out like a vacuum chamber?
Interesting, so the effects are similar to what we saw with Brawns? Now she can study herself in a new way!
It certainly seems to indicate how much of this magic is tilted toward chaotic...
To Discord: are you going to get in on any of this action?
Keep going! ;)

9109643 Something tells me Twilight is going to be a little more careful about her magic now.
9109094 Pleats, darling. Frills are last season.
So pony twi x thunderbolt~
9113909 Which one? They're both ponies!
9113938
Why not both! I'm sure Thunderbolt could use the company.
Gah! I swear, self-taught hedge witches... Someone gets ahold of just a little bit of power and they go poking around! This is why the apprenticeship system exists, so that prospective gifted don't accidently kill themselves, and so that magic can actually advance rather than revisit the same basic discoveries every generation.
The Circle was well-made, I'll give her that, a fine application of basic theory. Especially considering that she is essentially self-taught. But she failed to consider the obvious fact that the magic would not simply dissipate. This is particularly damming in that she knows how to build a mana-trap. She's built one before. Not revisiting the concept is an uncharacteristic oversight on her part.
On a related note, despite what movies would have you believe, chalk is a terrible material for a circle if you have any choice in the matter. It's fine for improvised or emergency work, and it does make making corrections easier, but it's so delicate. And as we've seen, circle-magic does not take disruption well. Water-soluble paint would have been better, engravings are good, and metallic inlays are best. But I doubt Twilight has access to sufficient quantities of gold or silver.
9261167 Oh no. Don't use gold. Way too easy for stray elemental forces to melt gold. Then you're back to square one where your circle fails and you just wasted money.

Too bad she didn't ask for advice from sunset. Sunset next to the princess knows the most about magic and probably would have twilight what she thought before her counterpart jumped in to trouble.

Better to put sunset in charge of teaching. She actually knows what she talking about and twilight is the crazy think outside the box and don't think it through enough to make sure it will work and it safe. She is too fearless in the name of discovery and keeps forgetting the reason why we have rules in science is so everyone stays safe and hopefully our experiments will work.
