Well, that happened.
I going to guess that Lightning Dust was lying about having a coltfriend, or she wouldn't be trying to follow Rainbow Dash. This story could have ended where it was except for that last line. You can't have Lightning Dust ranting about not wanting to be saved only for her to follow Rainbow Dash and not continue.

Well, it's supposed to be a cliffhanger... sort of. I might write a sequel.
Not much that I'm going to say here, I suppose, but I can see this being the start to a story, or perhaps a series thereof, that's going places. I'm definitely in favor of you going for a sequel to this, although I'm not going to push you; having a backlog like that can be overwhelming, and adding more to it doesn't help.
I hope you do continue this story.
