Hop3l3ssRomantic

I'm just a hopeless romantic who usually falls in love with ships that are horrendously overdone, or ones that are nearly unheard of. There is no in between.

Daybreak finds her peaceful life of shining and looking upon Equestria from the night sky ruined when a promise from a very long time ago sends her hurdling to the ground. Now she must learn everything she can from Celestia before Celestia has to ascend back to the heavens where she belongs. The worst part is that Daybreak has no interest in ruling, and would much rather go home then stay on a land of mortality for hundreds of thousands of years. Darker in later chapters, I'm putting a tag just in case.
This story is set in a headcan/au where stars are sentiant (clearly). Based loosely on the book "Stardust"

noo not celestia take me instead

I'm just going to say right now that if Celestia and Luna are essentially ex-stars, how is Twilight an alicorn?

I view Alicorns in two sections, natural alicorns like Celestia and Luna, and artificial or turned alicorns (however you want to say it) like Twilight and Cadance. Neither are truly immortal, but Twilight and Cadance age like normal ponies, while Celestia and Luna would not. In this headcanon Celestia and Luna (& eventually Daybreak) will ascend back into the sky (most likely significantly dimmer) and would live once again as stars until their end.

Where can I read Starlight, and what's it about?

Stardust is one of my absolute favorite books! Its by Niel Gaiman and it's about a half faerie boy (young adult I guess) who goes into the faerie world to retrieve a fallen star and bring it back to the most popular girl in his human town. Stars in the world of faerie, however, are beautiful young women. They are very rare and draw much dangerous attention when they fall.
It is the concept of how the stars work in this book that I draw the main headcanon for my fanfic. I hope you give Stardust a chance, its a really great read.
