The Harvest Moon Festival: Kelp Town's most spectacular celebration for citizens of all races.
Gina's night was going perfectly until a mean, annoying earth pony came along to ruin her good time. Now nothing can make it better.
Absolutely nothing.
Written for the Everfree Northwest Pre-Con Contest.
Having come back here to write a short recommendation of this piece, I am astonished to discover that no one has commented. This is a tremendously good short, and I can't believe it's been so overlooked.
5860627 Not much advertising, published on a Tuesday night, completely OC, and I don't have a big following, and it never gets updated because it's already finished.
That's not a formula for success.
But I'm glad you liked it.
I originally read this a few weeks ago as part of the contest judging, but was too busy to comment at the time. I just wanted to come back and say that this was one of the stories that really stood out to me. I loved the odd feeling we get here. It's pony, yet it's from such a different perspective that it feels odd and strange. Beyond that, it's a great little slice of life in a curious place and the overall themes of growing up and doing something slightly dangerous with friends just work here. So yeah, you didn't win the contest, but I wanted to know you still did a great job!
Very cute. I'd like to know more of the Griffon world that Gina comes from. She certainly a feisty little one.
PS - I got here from Meridian Prime's recommendation of your story.
5933059 Your comment means a lot to me. As one of the less popular writers, it's not often that I get such in-depth comments. It's good to hear that my stories are enjoyable and even memorable.
Now I feel like I can get a toque and a long scarf, grow some facial hair and start yelling "YOU DON'T GET MY ART!" at critics.
