Nightmare Night Scares

It was Nightmare Night in Ponyville and everyone was horsing around (HAHAHAHAHA GET IT). Pinkie Pie was spreading paranoia about the legend of Nightmare Night, Rarity was hiding in the second dressing room of the Carousel Boutique eating all the Chocolate dipped sugar cubes she had gotten from Zecora (Cocoa beans only grew in the Everfree Forest so only Zecora knew about them until now) and Rainbow Dash was plotting her somewhat cruel scare tactics for the night such as giving out candied apples with Inferno hot sauce in them, filling the apple bobbing buckets with crystal apples and her favorite the unexpected thunder clap.

Our story begins at Sweet Apple Acres, with Applebloom and Applejack...

"Alright now, y'all make sure ta be home before midnight ya hear?" said Applejack as she walked her little sister to the front door

"Yea sis, no need ta worry yer hat off. I'll be fine" answered Applebloom to reassure her sister of her understanding

"Good, now y'all have fun and be careful" said Applejack as her sister trotted off toward Ponyville

Applebloom was going to meet up with Scootaloo and Sweetiebell at Sugarcube corner. Mr and Mrs cake always gave away ursa size (King size) cookies on Nightmare Night and that was going to be their first stop. Just thinking about the huge delectable pastry made her mouth water and her galloping legs gallop faster.

Meanwhile at Sugarcube corner, Scootaloo and Sweetiebell were waiting for Applebloom and getting impatient.

"Come on Come on Come on... guh the cookies are gonna be gone by the time she shows up" said Scootaloo as she impatiently pranced in place

"She'll be here soon, I'm sure of it" said Sweetiebell looking around while walking in circles

"HEEEEEEEYYYY" yelled a familiar voice in the distance

"Oh thank sweet Celestia" said Scootaloo as she jumped into the air joyously

"Come on, before they give out the last cookie" said Applebloom as she raced past her friends

"Sorry girls, but we don't have any more ursa cookies" said Mr. Cake just as the girls ran up to him

"But... but... but... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" cried out Sweetiebell and Scootaloo dramatically

"Oh calm down Rarity" said Applebloom sarcastically

"I'm sorry girls, I wish I could have saved some for you three" said Mrs. Cake now standing at the door

"All we have left is Pinkie Pie's Super Duper Sugar Ursa Major" said Mr and Mrs cake as they pulled out the twice as large behemoth sized cookie

"It's the only one so you girls will have to share" said Mrs. Cake as she helped Mr. Cake put it into the back of Scootaloo's wagon she had attached to the back of her scooter for all the candy she was supposed to get tonight

"Thank you" said the trio as they made their way to the CMC Clubhouse

Meanwhile in the skies Ponyville Rainbow Dash was still scaring everyone stupid by startling them with an unexpexted clap of thunder and Rarity now had a tummy ache and was laying in bed moaning. Twilight, in the time being, was getting ready for a visit from Princess Luna and was growing more and more paranoid of Rainbow Dash's inevitable pranks.

"Hmmm I still have an hour before she-" but before she could continue a loud crackle of thunder and a sudden flash of lightening startled her

"YAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" yelled Twilight as she ran straight into a bookshelf thus knocking over the books and making a mess

"HAAAHAHAHAHAHA" laughed Rainbow Dash as she flew in through Twilights window

"Rainbow Dash! I could have gotten hurt you know. Your childish joke of scaring ponies half to death is going to hurt someone" said Twilight as she levitated the books back into the right place on the shelf

"Pffft it's a harmless joke what could possibly happen? OHH man you should have seen the look in your eyes just now BWAHAHAHAHA" said Rainbow Dash completely unapologetic

"Ugh I don't have time to play around Rainbow, Princess Luna is coming and I have to make sure everything is in order for her celebration party" Twilight explained as she walked out of her front door

"Hmmm well then I'll just have to go pay Applejack a visit in the meantime then" said Dash just before she flew off into the night sky

Twilight disregarded Dash's comment and went back to her preparations. As Twilight walked around making sure all the vendors and games were set up she checked off each one individually but then she noticed Big Macintosh walking down the road and he didn't look to well.

"Hey, Big Macintosh are you okay? you don't look to well buddy" said Twilight as she stopped him in place to talk

"Nnope, I think I had a bad apple..." said Big Mac as he tried to stay standing

"But all the apples in Ponyville come from the apple family farm and I know your granny smith wouldn't miss a single bad apple" said Twilight worried about the other apples in the town

"Eyup... must've been that candied apple I got from Rainbow Dash" said Big Macintosh just before he fell to the ground

"BIG MAC... GET UP... SAY SOMETHING" said Twilight as she shook Big Mac who was now laying on his side

"...Eyup" said Big Macintosh calmly as if he was alright

"Uhhhh uhh PINKIIIIE PIIIIIE SPIIIIIKE" Twilight called out as she looked around for them

"Ohhh they have to be around here some where" she said growing more and more worried

"TWILIGHT SPARKLE hehe what's *GASP*" Pinkie stopped just when she saw Big Macintoshs face

"WHAT WHAT WHAT, WHAT'S GOING ON" said Spike as he ran up to the Twilight and Pinkie

"I've seen this before, it's happened to me plenty of times. He ate bad inferno hot sauce, he'll be fine but we need to get him to a hospital to get his stomach pumped" explained Pinkie Pie

"Can you two take care of him? I need to go get Rainbow Dash before she gives out anymore poison apples" asked Twilight as she stood up

"Sure thing just GOOOO" yelled Pinkie Pie

With that said Twilight flew off into the distance hoping she could catch up to Rainbow Dash in time, but back at CMC Headquarters the Crusaders were facing there own crysis.

"Uhhhhggg we shouldn't have eaten that entire cookie in one go" said Scootaloo who was bloated and laying in the middle of the floor

"I'll never eat another cookie again" said Sweetiebell who was regretting their previous decision

"Ah think ah may be as fat as Applejack now" said Applebloom who was trying to be optimistic about her new bear belly

"Hahahaha..." all three of the cutie mark crusaders laughed but quickly went back to being in pain

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOO....." moaned a scary and ominous voice

"Very funny Scootaloo but I know that's you trying to scare me" said Sweetiebell who wasn't impressed by the failed attempt

"Ugh that wasn't me, I thought it was Applebloom" said Scootaloo in an uneasy tone

"Girls..." said Applebloom as she pointed out the window

When the girls saw what was outside the window they all almost puked it was a dismembered head with empty eye sockets staring straight at them

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH" all three of the Crusaders yelled as they huddled together in fear

"Ah just want you girls to know that ah love you" said Applebloom

"Ha...ha... hahahahahahahahaha" the disembodied head started laughing

"Would you take a look at the blank flanks crying like little babies" said a familar and annoying voice

"Yea, good one Diamond Tiara" said Silverspoon as she walked in with Diamond Tiara close behind.

"Y'ALL NEARLY SCARED US TO DEATH WITH THAT THING" yelled Applebloom

"And now when everyone hears about this at school you'll be the laughing stock of the town" said Diamond Tiara as she walked by the window.

Little did they know that Rainbow Dash was outside and she was still in the mood for pranking, she noticed that the lantern shining in the clubhouse and saw a golden opportunity.

"Oh man... this is gonna be great" she said as she carefully but quickly plucked a cloud from the sky and gently placed it over the clubhouse. She flew high into the air because she was planning make this night memorable but just as she flew down Twilight Sparkle flew in and tackled her into the cloud, the combined force made a thunder clap that was extremely loud and terrifying and the impact made them both crash through the roof of the clubhouse.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH" all the filly's screamed at once and huddled together again

"Girls I'm sorry for being such a horrible pony to you" said Diamond Tiara as she started crying

"Applebloom I'm sorry for calling you a blank flank and scaring you so badly and Scootaloo I'm sorry for unscrewing your scooter wheel that one time and making you hurt yourself and talking about how your parents fight all the time and Sweetiebell I'm sorry for pouring paint on the dress your sister made you for the first day of school and and an... GWAAAAAAAAHAAAHAAA" Diamond Tiara was literally breaking down in front of everyone from being scared so bad.

"Uhhh girls... what should we do... about her?" asked Sweetiebell

"I don't know... she must have been spooked worse than the rest of us" said Scootaloo

"I feel... kind of awkward now" said Silverspoon

"Well don't just stand there... hug her" said Applebloom as she walked over and embraced the terrified pony

Silverspoon went over immediately and hugged her also, The other girls just stood there for a while before Scootaloo asked

"Why should we? she scared us remember"

"BECAUSE Scoot, she was obviously scared powerfully worse than us. I mean just look at her" said Applebloom as she moved over to show her Diamond Tiara who was still shaking and looking around nervously

"....Your right, I mean she apologized for being rude and I don't think she would have said that if she wasn't scared for her life" said Sweetiebell as she walked over and joined the warming embrace

"We can't do this without you Scoot" said Sweetiebell as she held out her hoof

"Hrrrrmm fine" said Scootaloo as she finally walked over to the huddle

"There there, yer alright" said Applebloom who was trying to comfort her

"Th-th-thank you Applebloom... I'm s-sorry" said Diamond Tiara who was starting to calm down

"RAINBOW DASH DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!?!" yelled Twilight who was furious

"WHAT I DID? YOU RAN INTO ME" retorted the ticked prankster pony

"I TOLD YOU THAT YOUR PRANKS WERE GOING TO HURT SOMEONE AND NOW BIG MAC IS IN THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE YOU GAVE HIM AN APPLE WITH EXPIRED INFERNO SAUCE ON IT" replied the furious filly

"Ohhhhhh... well then I got some cleaning up to do... because I gave a bunch of those out. No wonder the ponies I gave them to weren't running for water" concluded Rainbow Dash

"Wait, Big Mac is where?" asked Applebloom

But before they could continue Princess Luna showed up unexpectedly wearing her Nightmare moon outfit as her costume for Nightmare Night.

"TWILIGHT SPARKLE, LET US COMMENCE IN THE FESTIVITIES OF NIGHTMARE NIGHT HAHAHAHAHA" said Luna who was trying to sound like nightmare moon.

(SSSSSsssssssssssss)

"Hey... what's that sound" asked Scootaloo. The first pony to notice what was making the sound was Applebloom.

"It's okay sugarcube, ah forgive you" Applebloom whispered to Diamond Tiara sincerely

Diamond Tiara had been scared so badly AGAIN by Princess Luna's costume that she peed herself in the middle of the floor...

and Applebloom forgave her anyway

The celebration party for Luna was to celebrate her second Nightmare Night back in Equestria after returning from the moon.

I feel like Rainbow's already learned that lesson. "Wonderbolts Academy" proved that by juxtaposing her with the MUCH more careless Lightning Dust, whose behavior is a lot more in line with the character in this story than Rainbow's.
