Thousands of years following the story of Archmage, Twilight takes on a new student. One who doesn't know the first thing about advanced magic. One who needs to start from Square One.
The walls rose three hundred and fifty feet above the city proper, towering well above even the tallest building inside its protective hold.
Is it bad that when I read this the first thought that crossed my mind is, Well, Twilightcould destroy that easily. Along with the rest of Trottingham if she so desired. It's not bad, right? I do still have some sanity, right?!
4818267 lol btw so totally gonna read the crap outa this read Archmage and it was so good its in my HoF on my userpage so anyone can see its epic maybe this can join it
Outside, Trottingham’s walls were smooth and worn down by millennia of wind and storms.
The magic imbued in the stone kept it strong, and no storm or wind had chipped away at that armor.
I think that these two statements contradict each other. For something to be smoothed it needs to be chipped, the smoothing process cuts off bumps. Yet as the second statement suggests this cannot happen.
Dayum, twilight sure is powerful
I like cobalt... A pony hulk
4777879 :Well yeah, I mean I 'was' offered a spot as an all powerful deity... Or maybe I was tripping balls, who knows?

I love the description of the city
There's strong, and then there's Twilight Strong
Great as always Loyal, I have to say that your ability to craft a city with words is always excellent.
Ah, what?
4778874 There's strong, and then there's Tara St- *shot*
4778647 Favorite movie ever.

I really love your attention to detail. I can't help getting a few pictures of Dark Souls in my head with how you describe the city.
Commence read.
And the world build continues on.

I was hoping nobody'd make the Shingeki No Kyoujin connection. Thus far, no one has.

...I don't even know what you're talking about. I don't really watch that kind of anime. But OK, I'll just go with it.

I can't believe I missed there was a sequel, I'll need to read this.

Yeah, I really suggest Loyal to add links to the original stories so others can know.

There's a section on the story description that says 'This story is a sequel to Archmage.'
With a link.
4803132 Maze Runner was my first thought, to be honest.
<3 Cobalt x Basil
Casil?
Cosil?
Basalt?

5585571 definitely Basalt
5763674 maybe it's more of the structural integrity it protects and anything deemed unnecessary by the spells parameters can fade away in time

The spells are 'that armor'.
