Well it seems like they didn't make the effort to contact her, so maybe she doesn't. I kind of doubt that would happen based on Wonderbolt academy episode, Pinkie would have got the invitations through.

I get what you're saying, but when a friend is away for awhile, and you have exciting news, sometimes is slips your mind to tell them, because you're so wrapped up in what you're excited about. And the people you'll tell first are typically the ones you're currently closest to.
