Chapter 1 pwnage and confusion

Chapter One

Twas a cool evening in the city of colorado springs. I lived in a small apartment in the central part of the city nothing special. I had decent grades, few friends, and a huge obsession of video games. I rarely go outside and never go out of my way to meet up with friends. from an outsider perspective i’m basically a shuden. My name is Jake and this is how my life got turned upside down.

“DOES THOU WISHEST TO BE PWNED!?”

“Easy there Luna9000 its just a game” i replied as i proceed to head shot her character in the face.

“GAAAAH!! HOW DOES THOU DO IT!” She pretty much rips apart my ear drums.

“It’s just a little thing i like to call skillz” I say as cocky as i could.

“Well if thats how thou wants to play it. WE SHALL UNLEASH ULTIMATE DOMINATION!”

“whatever you say luna…” The match plays as you would expect. she got 5 kills and 15 deaths. As victor i decide to rub it in. “So uhh...What was that about pwning?” I wait for her response and a few seconds later.

“Thou art a douche…” i laughed at this but she did not find this funny. she went silent for a while and I asked if she was still there. “yeah...i hate cop…”

“cop?”

“Call Of Pony. We are playing it now.”

“You mean cod for call of duty…”

“where does thou live? It may be called something different from where you are.

“america...colorado” I reply confused. “I think you just have the name wrong or something.” theres an awkward silence and she starts to question me about what its like were i live. I say i live near the rocky mountains and can see the mountain pikes peak from my window.

“Is this pikes peak located near canterlot?”

“Where?”

“...”

She does not respond and i start up another match and ask If she wants to do quick scopes. She finally speaks up after a while and says “sure”. After a few matches (of which i DESTROY her) I decide to call it a day.

“well luna I think I might get off” i say stretching with a satisfying “pop”.

“no, not yet. Thou hasn't played zombies with us yet. we are sure you’ll be quite impressed with our skill. we have achieved round 7 in that game mode.” i face palm with a loud smack.”what was that?”

“Nothing. Hey how about i add you on psn and we’ll play later. i’m gonna pass out in a few seconds”

“but… fine. we guess we should get get ready to raise the moon. we shall see you tomorrow. same time?”

“sure” i simply reply. wait raise the moon? must be a weird saying or somthing. “i'll be sure to stay up later too. see ya luna”

“good bye jake” i turn off my ps3 and put my pajamas on and head to bed. But before i pass out i wonder how she knew my name. my psn name doesn't even have my name in it. and i only just met her yesterday. i decide to just brush it off as i drift into a deep sleep.

Teh Next Day

I got home from a boring day of school and shut my door. I immediately through my book bag on my bed “ill do homework later” with procrastination in full effect i proceed to click the button on my ps3 and i'm rewarded with that little “beep” that i love to hear. I pick up my controller and put my disk in

“does thou want to join us?” a thought popped into my mind. i dont answer as i just think of it as one of those random things that just happens in your mind from time to time. i proceeded to click on call of duty and the game starts up. “We’ll just invite you to a private match” As soon as that thought passes by i receive an invite…What The Fuck? Well this was weird. “What? have you not heard of telepathic communication?”

“Umm...no”

“Well you sir have not been educated in magic have you”

“...”

“Are you still going to join our match?” she questions

“...”

“Yeah why not i guess. Talking through minds is totally normal. I must be going insane.”

“From what we can see your mind is quite stable. Now you should join me.” Ist like she doesn't even care. shes talking through my head and theres no explanation other than “Its magic bro” i decide to join her game and then ask her ‘telepathically’ “so why didn't you do just talk like this earlier?” I NEED A LOGICAL EXPLANATION!

“We don’t know, It never crossed our mind.”

“Whatever, i guess ill just get used to it. i mean don’t get me wrong its pretty cool, just a little weird...sorry”

“Its not a problem but you must join our friend lyra. she’s quite amazing at quick scopes”

“sure why not”

ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES LATER

I clenched my fist in total rage. How could this be happening? Beaten…BY A GIRL! “How the hell are you so good, I didn’t know you could teleport or use lighting in Call of Duty.”

“What’s call of duty? You mean call of pony?” She questioned over the mic. All of this pony stuff is confusing me and I want to know if there just fucking with me.

“So… what’s with all of this pony stuff? Is it some kind of expansion? Is it another version for kids in another country? Because I’ve never seen half the crap you just pulled off.” This lyra girl continued to ignore my attempts to get some answers. “uhg fine ill go tryhard on your ass. After saying that I got a lucky head shot. “YES!” I shouted as I proceed to get teleport killed from behind. “Are you kidding me!?”

“Really Luna? I thought u said he was good. He doesn’t even use magic.”

“Magic? What the hell are you even playing?” I was confused yet again and was ready to flip every table within a three mile radius. I gave up and ended the game and she had her moment of glory. “What a day I guess… GG by the way”

“I know I’m good “she huffed and proceeded to brag about herself. “A great power in equestrian, destine to rule the human realm she said. There’s a moment in a man’s life were one must simply giving a fuck and move on.

The grammar and spelling is terrible, and this actually works in the fics favor when you consider that is the general speak of CoD players.

4119722 Just a heads up bro, we ALL use that excuse for our first fic, and to warn you in advance it never works, most likely, critics much more harsh than me are going to come to this fic, and tear it apart,
But if anything, just take the criticism to heart, and you will probably flourish as a writer

Random thought. If you ever re-write this, make the system a pre-release PS4 that was sent to select testers. Then you can write off the inter-dimensional communication as a glitch. XD

Concept of the story is different, only seen one like it once before, if your gonna continue writing this story try being more descriptive, like what map their playing on and what CoD their playing would help the reader to get a better picture of whats happening, need some work on the grammar and spelling, try getting a prereader or editor. Try to come up with a reason for Jake to be able to connect to the Equestian servers and how the games are compatible, even a cliche reason like,"I won this console off a gypsy so it is magical", this wont get you any more fans of the story, it might even attract some haters if you use a cliche reason, but a reason is better than none at all. One last tip, in future chapters try to give Jake more character, what sort of lifestyle does he live? even just an explanation of the condition of his room or who is in his family would help. Also, since this is your first story try to stick to 3 main characters, prevents the need invent persona's for multiple characters and will help keep your ideas on track.
