As a result of a psychedelic experience with friends, Marcus Szekely makes contact with the recently reformed Discord, who (surprise, surprise) wants Marcus to shake things up a bit for the residents of Ponyville. Being a connoisseur of music of all Earthly varieties, Marcus is able to awaken the Equestrians to the true power of music that nopony has quite managed before due to certain... limitations, along with knowledge of the universe that is awe-inspiring, as well as quite shocking. Expect lots of music links.
Notes: I know the first half of Chapter 1 reads a bit like an entry on the Erowid Experience Vault, but trust me, it's important! As such, however, it may not be quite suited for younger readers. Also, I doubt I will be able to update frequently, what with school and all. Do not despair, though! I will update when I can.

This...shows potential. Are you seeking to just inject our music into there world, or will there be thematic revelation to the music. Although I am curious, given that tastes in music change based on many factors such as culture and mindset, how will the equines respond to the myriad changes in style that human music has gone through, all readily available through our protagonist. Also, what of other cultures, I can't speak for every culture but, will they see representation as well?
3124821 At risk of sounding illiterate, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "thematic revelation". I'm not planning on just blind injection of music. It may occur here and there early on, but it will not be the sole driving force behind the story. I'll also try to bring in other cultures' musical styles. Maybe not right away, but eventually.
Being my first fic, this could turn out well, or it could be complete crap. We'll just have to see!
by thematic revelation, I mean is there going to be a theme to the music that gets used or is it just kinda picked as it comes to you.
3127120 Most of them will probably be randomly selected. By that, I don't mean that random songs will be selected and put where they shouldn't be. They will usually have some sort of relevance to what is going on in the plot, but there probably won't be an overall theme.
He should play "Another Brick In The Wall" just to see Twilight's reaction. "Brain Damage/Eclipse" would remind them of Nightmare Moon with the sun being eclipsed at the end of it, or maybe he could play "Paint It Black".
