Last weekend was another pathetic faux-Halloween. Children were allowed to trick-or-treat from 4-6 PM, to make sure none of them were out after dark, or even in twilight. I didn't even buy candy this year; I just pulled the still-nearly-full bowl of candy from last Halloween out from an end-table drawer. I waited by my door for those 2 hours, and was visited by one group of kids.

I've written a lot of Equestrian dialogue in this story, but never bothered to translate it in the story itself. I wanted to leave it a mystery for the reader---and besides, from my experimentation I found in-story translations to be rather tacky. But now that it's complete (including the paper explaining the phonology, grammar, and so forth), I think it's high time to pull the curtains back and show the reader what the hell the ponies have been saying all along.

It seems like summertime for me is always rife with some sort of misery. Whether it be the heat, mosquitoes, lack of motivation for any writing or artwork, constant bloating myself with tonnes more water than normal, or that bad news seems to just happen often during the summer.
