How Could the MLP Movie Be a Little Better? (SPOILERS) · 4:04am Nov 18th, 2017

I've seen the movie online, and it gave me those tiny nickly-feelings that only watching a movie about the best generation of ponies would satisfy. Random Fact: Java SE 6 U0, AKA Java/JRE 1.6.0, is apparently one of the last versions of Java to actually live up to its name as "i586-compliant", according to the installer names. There's the x64 version, and the i586 version. Every version of the i586 build I've tried past the original SE6 crashes upon launching a jarfile complaining about CMOV, which is an i686 instruction.

"Teacher of the Month" short thoughts · 5:14pm Feb 12th, 2019

Hasbro has released a new FIM short: Teacher of the Month. It does touch on the story behind Non-compete clause, going more into why Fluttershy keeps getting picked instead of Applejack and Rainbow Dash getting jealous over it (although they still do).

Sharing it so I can also share a couple of minor thoughts on it.

Ember, Cynical, and Charles' Fast Food tier lists. · 1:37am May 3rd, 2019

So... fast food tier lists. They've been popping up a lot on the internet lately, for some god forsaken reason, and it was only a matter of time before me and some of my Skype pals decided to make ours. I made and shared mine first, but because I'm making this blog post, I'll share mine last. After some debating about what goes where, Cynical finished his and showed it to us:

I finally watched Pixar's Soul and Mulan (2020). Here are my thoughts. · 11:42am Feb 12th, 2021

Soul is phenomenal. It resonates to so many adults because of its themes of finding one's passion and enjoying every minute of life. What truly got me was the part where lost souls become disconnected from life the more they can't let go of their anxieties and obsessions.

Film Recommendation Zootopia: A Compelling Allegory and Story upon Race. · 10:14am Mar 16th, 2016

Disney historically has done very poorly upon portraying race. From the racist crows (A reference to Jim Crow) in Dumbo to the whitewashed sanitized Pocahontas that neglected the part with the rape, genocide, and deadly diseases, Disney has many more examples of racial insensitivity to say the least. It's surprising then that they've produced Zootopia, a film that tackles race relations with touching nuance and sensitivity as to be relatable to children and adults. If you haven't, go see it.
