Surprise!
I know, this is a surprise to just about everyone. My Alpha and Beta Readers included. In fact, they never saw it. Why? Well ... because I wrote it yesterday, in a single sitting, for a contest that's ending today.

My unceremonious return is heralded by the call of a Science Fiction contest! I thought it'd be fun to participate, so I'm here polishing up the last few chapters of my new 6 Chapter fic Victory: Premonitions, in the hope of bringing my rusty skills up to snuff for some much bigger projects yet to be released! It's been a bit harder than I anticipated, as the super-condensed nature of a 20 thousand word fic has proven to be quite the creative restriction, but I've really been liking the

I'm pretty stoked about winning. Since the announcement, I've picked up 4 new upvotes and sadly one angry anon downvoted both Dibs and its parent fic, Don't Feed The Bats. It's all good though. So long as my haters are at my back and never at my front, then life is good, eh? 
So I'm going to start with this, Vonholtz is dead. He died Feb 28th at 11:06am from a Covid-19 induced Stroke and it's complications. he was declared brain dead on Feb 26th.
A Funeral was held for him here:
This has left me reeling for weeks and it has taken much effort to get this far. Please if you knew him go pay some respects if you didn't; then you really did in a way, at the Tabletop Game he played Scopola Mina.

I'm excited to be making progress on actually posting this thing. This whole project has been very exciting. I'm not sure if the Mature rating will stick. I've always had a bad relationship with these online self-rating systems. I'd much prefer an "in progress" rating that was the functional equivalent of shrugging your shoulders and seeing where things go. As it stands, part of me wants to tone down the later chapters and re-concept the scope into something with less adult themes. I'm not

I've checked blogs, groups, and I even went to the fimfiction discord to ask if any horror contests are going on and it seems there is not a single horror fic contest going on at all. It shouldn't upset me as much as it is but i'm super disappointed.
