No Horror Contests Going On... · 9:10am Oct 13th, 2020
I've checked blogs, groups, and I even went to the fimfiction discord to ask if any horror contests are going on and it seems there is not a single horror fic contest going on at all. It shouldn't upset me as much as it is but i'm super disappointed.
My reasoning is pretty selfish but still. Just recently I got into the writeoff group. 2 events in and I realize I can actually finish a story under pressure. It keeps me focused to have a hard deadline and pushes me into writing which is something I'm not at all comfortable doing. Not like drawing. I can draw forever on a whim but with fanfiction or writing in general it's too easy for me to give up. Competition seems to adjust my brain chemistry just enough that stress turns into fun.
And October is my favorite month of the year. I was kinda hoping there would be a spooky story event for it this year...besides the one that happened in April.
