Nice and toasty hot off the presses, the next chapter is finally here! And it's a big one!
Hey folks! The Porter Robinson show I mentioned in my last post was great, and yes, of course... he did Turing Test's unofficial theme song "Sad Machine."
Yesterday I discussed some of my own success this past year as well as thanking a lot of the people who made 2015 a good first year here on FiMFiction. This time, I thought I'd discuss some of my favorite stories from my time here so far. You can already peruse my Favorites, true, and you can also see my list of Top 5 Recommendations, but I thought I'd go into a little more detail.
“I need breakfast for tomorrow, but I really don’t want to have packaged dumplings for the third time in a row. But I also don’t have enough time to make breakfast in the morning...”
*light bulb*
“I know! I’ll just make breakfast today and reheat in tomorrow.”
“Eggs and milk and banana and flour and sugar and salt, this can’t not go wrong in the slightest!”
...
“I don’t know how to make pancakes.”
“I don’t have the strength to flip them.”
...I dislike Rarity episodes. Quite a bit. I like the series and its characters because they're not superficially girly-girl and stuff, but the Rarity episodes move off in that direction more often than not by the very nature of Rarity's profession. I wouldn't exactly say it's a BAD thing for the show to cater more to its target audience, considering I and most people here are decidedly not such, but I literally do not care about the fashion aspect of this universe. As such, I'm not
Ways to un-stick a stuck story by firemoon42
• Do an outline, whatever way works best. Get yourself out of the word soup and know where the story is headed.
• Conflicts and obstacles. Hurt the protagonist, put things in their way, this keeps the story interesting. An easy journey makes the story boring and boring is hard to write.
Hey, everyone! After ages, I have a new story. This will be my first in a long while and will once again feature a new character.
Anyway, it's back in the writing saddle for 2018 and should mark the start of a new set of stories I plan to write over the coming months. Not to spoil who I've included in this new story for the first time (though you can try and guess if you want to) I will just leave this here.
Hey! Y'all remember how, a couple of times upon a time, I did a drunkwriting thing? Grabbed some fellow authors for an impromptu real-time story collaboration marked by poor judgment and/or alcohol poisoning?
Well, when I say nest week I mean it will hopefully be out for next week. So yeah this new story will be my first in a while and is set to feature a character I've never written for before. That could also be down to the fact that she hadn't been introduced to show when I started too, but oh well.
I've decided to come back to life. It's been a rough few months as I transitioned into yet another living space. I have an apartment again, living on my own, with nothing but my thoughts for company. Nobody here to tell me what's a bad idea, which is why I have a pie cooling on the stove and two cans of sugary drinks next to me awaiting my attention.
Who missed me? Nobody? Good, then nothing's changed.
IN WHICH SHOWER THOUGHTS
So this happened a few days ago and didn't show up on my feed for some reason. It's a short teaser.
The full video will probably come out when the album does in a couple of weeks. So…
Howdy howdy. I've been wanting to review/recommend some stories from the right back at it again shipping contest, because as usual I only ever exit my tiny corner of TWG to go, sneak out and enter in competitions before slinking back into my lair, and as a few of you probably know, I like reviewing and recommending (if I can) stories that turn up there, because contests are fun and I think that
Things have been getting a bit stressful lately... Ugh, so stressful.
I think we could all use a splash of Pinkie's outgoing attitude on this Friday evening.
This week, we return to the land of superdeformed shenanigans, where bubbles from beyond have been wreaking bedlam. Let’s see what there is to see.
