I've decided to come back to life. It's been a rough few months as I transitioned into yet another living space. I have an apartment again, living on my own, with nothing but my thoughts for company. Nobody here to tell me what's a bad idea, which is why I have a pie cooling on the stove and two cans of sugary drinks next to me awaiting my attention.
Who missed me? Nobody? Good, then nothing's changed.
I got a new job! Well, I guess it's kind of an old one. Honestly I don't remember if I've mentioned this here yet, but here's the scoop: the company I've worked for the longest, a grocery chain, starting doing an online ordering angle. My original store opened up their department for it in October. I happened to be passing through and asked about it, then lo' and behold, I'm leading a team. Working together with someone who's done this before, I'm in charge of about fourteen people, with goals to press sales figures consistently week after week.
It's not the most lucrative job I've had, but it's a more appropriate challenge for me than renting trucks. Plus I'm finally earning a livable wage again, which is how I got the new apartment. What's great about it is that I've earned it entirely on my own. No handouts from friends or family, no loans, no asking for extensions. Just me and my savings at work. And as long as I can continue to push figures and manage people, I think I'll be set for two years at least. Finally, no more of this moving-once-a-year bullshit.
I've got a handle for this kind of attitude. I'm gonna take 2018. I want to try new approaches to how things go in my life, with an edge toward wresting some modicum of control each time. That includes my passion of writing (and my distraction with media). It's also where I decided to sport a new avatar for the time being. Different than my Discord ones, but hey, I'm not on Discord right now.
So yeah, I'm going to get back into writing, this time for the enjoyment of it. Nobody has needed to help me with my place, my job, or my belongings, so I'm going to approach writing as something that I want to enjoy again. Maybe it'll be something that other people enjoy too.

What grocery chain is it?
I work for the corporate side of Walmart, myself.
Good to see things are looking up. Always best to be positive.

Kroger. Specifically, a Kroger Signature store (has a pharmacy but doesn't have clothing).

Thanks! I'm feelin' pretty good about this setup.
Welcome back.
