With Jacob gone, Bella’s lying on the ground, waiting to die. With Bella whining, I’m sitting in my chair, waiting for the book to end. Edward asks her what’s wrong, and when she explains, he says Jacob’s “cunning”. The reasons are weird and I don’t care. Edward asks Bella if she really thought Jacob would go out in a blaze of glory to clear the way for him. Given that Charlie is the only character with something approaching a human personality, that option shouldn’t be discounted out of hand.

Bella drives home and heads to her room, sobbing. I couldn’t care less. She realizes she’s been a horrible person, trying to stay with both Edward and Jacob even though she knew that was impossible. Come the end of the party, Bella’s still panicking about the wolves joining in. She thinks they’re “just oversized, over-muscled children”, completely forgetting that they can turn into bear-size wolves and have already killed at least one vampire. In the opening paragraph, it’s mentioned that the youngest werewolves are only thirteen. Why didn’t anyone wolf out while the Cullens were hanging around? Maybe it’s not vampires that triggers the change, but hostility, since they started changing when the murderous Victoria started hanging around Forks. But that would be attributing intelligence towards this series.

I have begun work on my latest chapter of The Farmer and the god, and so far i like how it is turning out. I have been lucky to have gotten some feedback and i am taking it all into account when i write.
