It wasn't as good as the movie, it wasn't as good as (much of) FiM, but it was well above the "this is a total disaster" threshold. I've recently rewatched "What About Discord?" so I feel I have a fair idea of what a truly bad piece of Pony is like, and Make Your Mark was not that. Y'all may not know it, but I'm a veteran of the long war pony game since G1. Trust me, I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly, so I figured I'd give my hot take on the newest iteration of pastel equines.

The G5 movie exceeded my expectations, introduced a number of interesting characters, and was a fun, entertaining movie.

It’s hard to say whether these were supposed to get out, but apparently some Hasbro investors have been sent concept art for the reboot of MLP expected next year (or possibly 2022). I gotta say, some of the design choices are... interesting , but on the whole, this is CGI I can get behind. I especially like the more integrated castle/city dynamic.

Although I'm not entirely fond of the artstyle, it seems pretty obvious upon reflection that the show that should've been the sole focus is "Tell Your Tale"; honestly I think free YouTube shows is the logical place now for shows designed to push toys & merchandise: The audience is just naturally wider that way.

I read on another site that FiM is officially ending sometime next year, and then there will be at least one more official movie, followed by Generation 5 in 2020. I will definitely give G5 a chance, and the rumors about making earth ponies “more interesting” sound somewhat promising. I already think they're fascinating, but maybe everyone else will finally realize how fascinating they are. OTOH, it's possible that earth ponies will lose some of their appeal to me if I have less room to imagine
