The season four two-parter finale gave us Princess Discord…
Season five has given us Princess Spike…
… And Princess Big Mac…
No screencaps this time. Though there would be no lack of good ones, wouldn't there? I feel like I only did a big screencap blog yesterday. Oh, wait. If you're disappointed by this decision, feel free to dig through my old blogs. Plenty of stuff there no one ever saw.
Dueling Keyboards has updated with a short inspired by today's episode. If you've already read it, you'll want to take a second look; I've added a capstone scene at the end.
The wonderful KlaraPL has just completed a pic I commissioned of Big Mac and Gilda for the story. I have added it to the chapter, but because people are unlikely to notice unless they re-read the story, I'm putting it in this blog too.
Check out KlaraPL's Deviant Art page!
Pretty Little Marble Pie (on soundcloud)
(As sung from Big Mac to Marble Pie)
You’re a precious stone
And I’m just homegrown
but if you’ll sit with me
I think you’ll see
You’re the apple of my eye
Pretty little Marble Pie
Well, I don’t know rocks
apart from granite blocks,
but when I look at you
I can tell it’s true
Something comes to mind after watching the 'Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep' episode. This idea has been in my head for a while now and I'm glad to take this time to talk about it.
Can an earth pony ascend to alicornhood?
The answer is yes.
So, the eternally awesome Savrin Drake (whom you may also know from Knotcast or from his work with various conventions like Nightmare Nights), did a reading of Happy Hour! And he did a damn good job of it, too!
...you aren't looking for any new ideas for a fic, yet stumble across one anyway?
Like, we're talking a great one here. One that homages the gritty action flicks of the 80's. Think Mad Max meets Escape From New York, with a healthy dollop of The Running Man.
In another time, another place, Equestria was never founded. The pony tribes remained separated and torn apart by war.
A friend of mine, Winged Cat , has done a very nice story. Which in a bit of a darker time for me, brought about a lovely smile and chuckle. The story itself is something that I myself admit to not normally reading, but could use some nice exposure. Its short and simple 2 parts, each to their own. Constructive critique I would hope welcomed. And to give a follow to a very nice artist if its worth a smile or chuckle.
One idea I did have: What if all of the Main 6 were hot for Shepherd, but he's just too thick to get it? Or he was so deep in denial about it (and that he's also attracted to them) that the mares have to escalate things to try and get across their feelings?
Well, the abridged version goes like this:

So it's Father's Day! Don't usually consider producing art in time for a particular holiday, but this was one of the story ideas I had in my mind and it just fit the theme. Someone did comment on why it ended up appearing the day before Father's day, and that's pretty much down to timezones and plans. I'm from the UK, so I'm usually six to nine hours ahead of American users, so if I submitted it in the early morning, it would appear the day before or past midnight on Sunday, and if I submitted
I approached Season 6 with low expectations, because I was concerned that Starlight Glimmer would take over the show and change the dynamic too much, possibly by getting her own Friendship Throne. These concerns turned out to be mostly unfounded. While Starlight has had the spotlight in the past couple of two-part episodes, she has been absent for the vast majority of Season 6. However, the show did lose some of its appeal for me, just not for the reasons I predicted.
Hey! Look what I did for a class assignment.

This is a review of The Howling Pony by Inazuma.
This is the kind of story for which the term "purple prose" was invented. The first line is:
It was a dark and stormy night.
