The new Big Mac episode... Why bother with shipping when the Miller/Vogel/Haber alliance is willing to throw all ships out of the window at a moment's notice and say "NO! THIS is Big Mac's FIRST CRUSH EVER!"? · 8:01pm May 13th, 2017

Not only that, but to say Big Mac has a crush on Sugar Belle, the bootleg fourth-rate Pinkie Pie knockoff from Glimmertown? The pony he has no way of meeting, no way of knowing about, no reason to love, and no reason to like?

Have you seen the show yet? I know that he is the biggest shipper that every one uses but why is it so bad.
Thought it is a commonly used story trope but at least they use it well. I still would have liked to see CMC hit-men, but to Feather Bang was made to be the antagonist. Well to a point I saw where they made him less antagonistic at the end. They might even build on the episode to make a Apple Jack episode?
Well that just my two cents.

I'll tell you why it's so bad.

Remember that episode of The Simpsons where they "Revealed" that the Principal Skinner we knew all along was actually someone completely different? Remember how everyone hated this pointless move that added nothing to the character and, in fact, took things away from him? Remember how much everyone hated this pointless ratings stunt?

This episode is just like that.

What's the point of shipping or caring about characters in general when their new writer is willing to retcon their past, their personality, and whatever else they want at will? Dragonball GT wasn't this stupid.

This episode, in which Big Mac, the character we've known for years, the character the Miller/Vogel/Haber Alliance seems to have adopted as their personal OC, what with how many episodes he's suddenly getting and how many "Hidden depths" he's suddenly getting and all... Big Mac is having his "First Crush" on... Sugar Belle? The fourth-rate bootleg Pinkie Pie from Glimmyville? The loser that went to Glimmerville, willingly gave up her Cutie Mark(Unless Glimmer is worse than we thought), and only got it back when the real heroes helped her? Big Mac has no reason to love, want, or like this pony. He has no real way to know this character at all, unless you're telling me one showed up in the other's town at some point and a "Crush" blossomed from there. I'm not a dedicated FlutterMac, MarbleMac, or CheeriMac shipper, but this is a major slap in their faces, followed by a good helping of jarate in their cereal bowls, and it's the same to all fans of the show in general. This isn't just "He's paired with her now, deal with it!", this is "He's paired with her now and always has been, this is his first crush, he has no feelings for anyone else and never has, suck it!". This is the writers, the directors, and everyone else telling us that they're willing to do this, they're doing this, and they can do this whenever they want.

4532088 I do see your point. While I agree that other chose would have been better, Though MarbleMac is a little iffy because they might be related. I myself like LunaMac, followed by FlutterMac and finally CheeriMac. It is true it seems like they are punching us in the kidneys, so to speak. While many are, or will, get mad, we have to remember that this season has already changes to the cannon.
I am trying to take a more optimistic view that it is just a one time thing or they will be using this in a future episode. It is an average episode for me.
I do agree that there were better way they could have been done, but I have do like the lesson that they were trying to teach us.
I also wish to believe that those of Glimmer Town may have a bigger story then we know. I mean Double Damion had an accident before being found Glimmer Town.
That's neither here nor there you have brought many good points and I can see your point of view.
Though I see it as, they do own it and they writer may listen but it's their choice what happens not ours.
Thanks for sharing your point of view and what you have to add to this episode.
Thank you

>it's their choice what happens not ours.
Why do people keep saying this?

Lauren Faust wrote something called a Show Bible. THAT is THE Canon, and the animated series we see is an adaption of it. They had to fight to get season 1 made, they were given more freedom once Faust left, and when all the good writers were replaced, it showed.

These new seasons? Jim Miller's fanfictions about his super special mary sue called Glimmer.

Besides, remember the DBZ fans? Remember the nonsense that was GT? GT has its fans, sure, but the fandom as a whole ignored it and kept on making its own fan content.

4532662 Sorry if I offend you. I just said that since we are not writing the show we can't change what is happening.
But you are correct that we can keep writing fan fiction and hope that it will change.
But to be fair to your argument I heard of Dragon Ball GT but never actually saw it.
Thank you for your time to answer by the way. I am glad that you will to help me understand your point of view.
