So, I thought somebody was wrong on the internet.
So, I thought somebody was wrong on the internet.
I suppose that, being on the Internet and all, I should introduce myself. Hello there, to whomever is reading this. You may call me Royal, RN or Royal Noir. As for my real name... I shall give but one hint: it begins with an R as well. I'm a teenager who just likes to spend their time writing all sorts of fanfiction. I'm new to this site, but definitely not to the MLP fandom. I've been with the show since the end of Season Two.
Thank the mods, my story’s been approved! This is the story I wrote for EFNW’s Iron Author contest last weekend. The one posted here is the edited/polished final draft.
There comes a time in every pony author's life when he must return to his roots. And what better authorial root is there than cuddling ponies? None, I say! Keep an eye out kiddoes, a new story is dropping late tonight/early tomorrow, and it has something for everypony!
Can ask something of folks?
If you need to drop a downvote, please talk to the author? If you don't like the story, if you don't like the direction, even if you don't like the author themselves, please drop a comment or, if you're not feeling too confident, make a private message.
We can only get better if you give us feedback.
And obviously (I mean, considering where we are and the nature of the fandom!), try to do it constructively and politely if possible.
Hello all, I'm back with yet ANOTHER blog post, this time with some good news. I'm home, I had a good holiday with my family, and as of today everything is back to normal once again. I'm finally able to get back to writing is my point, my computer is accessible, and I have the time to write now. The only thing holding back the sequel is me, since I'm sick and lazy. So, I ask you all for a favor, yell at me to get off my lazy butt and to get better so I get back to writing. Thanks!
In my previous Be an Author* blog on Agendas, I wrote that every character has an agenda. You do, too.
You have an agenda.
You always have a reason to write a story. To communicate. If you are successful, you will have gotten your reader to think about... what?
Your message, of course.
I have a story/poem.
It’s written.
However...
It won’t let me submit it.
I’ve gone through and made sure that it meets the guidelines, but it is being troublesome.
Help? Please?
I don’t know what to do..
That’s right, Xepher’s running an Iron Author contest as part of PonyFest online!
If you wanna participate, click here and get signed up now; the contest starts in about a half hour.
Hi, guys. It took me a bit, and I took a few days off in between, but I finished going over and polishing up Swimming Lessons. Ultimately, this is how it went down:
Chapter 1: A 62-word drop in Microsoft Word (Fimfiction says 74 for some reason)
Chapter 2: A 48-word drop in Microsoft Word (Fimfiction says 64 for some reason. Honestly, the vast majority of what I did in this chapter was combining paragraphs)
Why is this called Chaos Edition? Because that's what my life has been like lately, to say the least.
Hello, dear reader!... Or passerby, whichever!
Here is something I wish to discuss. In my story, I write like so.
"Hello, Captain." I say.
"Hello, Generic Bob." The captain replies with a smile.
"Lovely day, isn't it?"
"It is."
"Yeah, anyway, was wondering if I could borrow some sugar?" What did I just say?
Here is the thing. Some people call this format uncomfortable due to the spaces between lines, paragraphs, etc.
After I finished Paging Doctor Sparkle, I set out to do a lot of things on here. Update If You Have a Little Hope more, write some oneshots, even do a Paging Christmas special. I’d like to apologize in advance for not being able to do some of those things.
Oh hey it's a blog post from that guy who doesn't blog post all that often. And not only is it a blog post, it's also apparently my 200th blog post. That's pretty neat. Too bad I don't have anything interesting to celebrate it... as if 200 blarghs into the void was a thing to celebrate or something.
Hi, everybody. Since Book 2 chapter 4 got put up yesterday, I decided to get back to something I was working on before I even split my story in two: back-editing.
I am very sad to report that my Uncle Lee's daughter Brandy passed away last night due to complications with MS, leaving behind three children.
Join me at 6PM, on this night of Halloween fun and scary stories, to listen to a dark tale written by Grimm! It's the longest single-chapter story I've ever done, and a fair amount of work went into it to make sure it all went right, so I'd appreciate it very much if you'd head on over when the time is right to give it a listen! That is, of course, if you're sat on your own in a dark room and trying to suffer through a night at home alone with the lights off and you're not out trick or
I finally had the time to sit down and Finish off this Oneshot I have been writing, I will admit I am not a Good writer and that I am not expecting this story to be all the well received nor am I expecting much out of it due to how short it is.
I still have to go over it for spelling errors and what not, but it will be posted some time tomorrow morning!
Fellow writers/creators SilverNotes and Artemis are in need of financial help.
