Hey All!
I posted a thread for this in The Writers' Group, but apparently it was considered breaking a rule (), so the thread was locked.

There is something inherently sad about something coming to an end. Something unique and wonderful is now over, and I found myself writing this at the airport and on the airplane, waiting, leaving Baltimore, perhaps for the last time. It’s as I do so that I contemplate the past, present, and future both for myself and the fandom.
I'm afraid there won't be a new chapter this Sunday, since Bronycon has taken up most of my time this week.
Incidentally, Bronycon has been a huge amount of fun, albeit exhausting and stressful
I'll get back to my usual schedule next week, and I hope you all are looking forward to the next chapter, cause it's a good one!
Bronycon was a hell of a fun time.
I'm not one to catalogue and do a big recap post, so I'll just leave a few highlights.
*Hanging out in The Fuckhouse with Pearple Prose, Aragon, r5h, and Appletank.
*Meeting a bunch of other awesome and cool people who I'm too lazy to name.
*Getting a print copy of Fractured Sunlight signed by Rebecca Shoichet
*Signing several other peoples print copies of Fractured Sunlight when they managed to track me down.
I've been going to Bronycon since 2015, the year of the largest attendance record. The last one ever is less than a month away. We should honor it by following some of the strange traditions I've accumulated over the years.
some of these are not actually traditions, but by me pretending they are, they become so
So after careful consideration my gf and I have decided to attend brony con . So excited and can't wait to go! Anyone going as well?
"But wait. You just posted a blog about Bronycon."
Next I absolutely want to talk about the merch. Not just because there was a lot, but because I really do think that this stuff needs to be better appreciated, given how much work goes into the art, plushies, et cetra. Of course these people make a butt-ton of money at these things, but I really do think people need to show off all the stuff they got and let people know just how much love went into the merchandise they got.
So, Day one of Bronycon was amazing. Also, I think you guys should see the Panel with all the Mane 6 voice actors. The actor for Rarity said the funniest thing, and Andrea Libman revealed she likes Pony.mov!
Starting Day 1 today. Everyone else is still asleep while I am already feeling the jet lag kick in. 1 cup of coffee down, 50 to go. I'll be wandering around with a group of other people today. I have two panels, one at 3:30 and one at 6:15. At 3:30 I'll be at the community VA panel with Rev897, Meredith Sims, and Wildcard in the Sun room, and at 6:15 I'll be on the SFS main panel in the mane hall. Flag me down if you see me!
As I am sitting in our hotel room writing this, the con has been over for nearly three hours now. It was quite the whirlwind. The SFS crew spent most of the time crawling about the vendors hall when we weren't on panels. I picked up a copy of the Horse Famous card deck and a Horse Famous button (something I wore with irony), as well as a copy of Twilight's Secret Shipping Folder card game, which was equally entertaining. I got a couple of lockets too, said hi to a few artists I liked, and
I'm going to sleep now. Tomorrow, I get to return home.
It was nice meeting everyone. Folks here were really friendly, and I got to see a lot of very smart people say some very smart things. I got to talk with people, not just about ponies, but about all sorts of things. We were all among friends, and it was an enjoyable experience, apart from the odd bit of awkwardness.
I joined the Evil League of Evil in its invasion of a local food court.
Quills & Sofas was the beneficiary of an unusual gift: a manual typewriter left for public use in Quills & Sofas. It prompted an outpouring of spontaneous, mostly anonymous output from the guests.
Here's most of what came out of Friday:
This man is injury-related retired WWE/NXT Superstar, Corey Graves. Why am I posting a picture about him here?
This is why...
Yes, Corey Graves; the tough guy with "Stay Down" tattooed on his fists, has a show on the WWE Network called Culture Shock, and on one of those episodes, Mr. Graves attended BronyCon!
What an incredible experience! As my first Bronycon, I wasn't sure what to expect, but boy did it wow me. While at working registration, I was able to meet so many amazing bronies and get them all ready for a fantastic time at the con. It began with an amazing animation "Good morning Baltimare" and ended with a "ad-lib"ed anthem of Baltimare sung by Cathy Weseluck, performing in the voice of Spike. But it wasn't just the beginning and ending that were fantastic, sprinkled throughout were
Well, the finally Bronycon is literally right around the corner and I am happy to say that I am attending this year! I am rather excited and nervous about this since this is not only my first mlp convention but my first convention ever!!
Anyway, if you are going and you read this. Feel free to say hi. I will be wearing a black and white camoflouge hat. (Pic below) Always up with making new friends.
So I'm going to this thing.
I'll be leaving tomorrow, picking up Trick Question and a friend, and dragging them, along with Drax99 to the con when it starts.
This will be my fifth year attending, as Drax and I have went to the con together since 2013.
