The most recent Friendship Games have just finished, with Crystal Prep's star academic Twilight Sparkle nearly ending the world. Abacus Cinch doesn't care about that; she merely wants Canterlot High School to forfeit the Games, claiming that the use of magic is cheating. Before anything else can be said, a new arrival appears, and Abacus Cinch gets a rude awakening.

Pinkie Pie is bored out of her mind. Antics ensue as she visits everypony in hopes of entertainment, but they're all too busy to entertain her.

The newly-crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle returns home to Ponyville... Where the citizens bow and scrap at her feet, to her frustration. Twilight just wants to be treated the same way she's always been, but how can she make that happen?

Twilight, believing something has happened to her memory, seeks out Princess Celestia to see if she recognizes it and can offer a cure. But the answer lies far deeper in the root of her nature and her life as the Princess of Friendship than she would have ever expected.
