Applejack, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash really enjoy each other's company. So much so that some ponies are beginning to wonder about them. Twilight and Applejack are a couple after all, so its a bit unusual that Rainbow always seems to be invited along. But sometimes, a couple is more than two.

It's the End. Equestria has fallen. Her lands are black and sick. Her skies are dark and cold. All that lives is dead – or corrupted by a foe long thought gone.

Millions of lives are lost, among them heroes and princesses, with its remaining survivors forced to retreat to their last safe haven. For five years, they have struggled to survive, dealing with sieges, rebellions, starvation, and death. The Pony Race is all but doomed.

But hope may yet live.

Not all of the Elements have perished. Two survive, and these two final bastions of Ponykind will make an effort to ride into the coming darkness to end it once and for all...

...or be swallowed by it like everything else.

Rainbow Dash finds herself terrified of one of her best friends without cause or reason. What follows is how she deals with the unlikely situation with the help of her friends.
Contains unrepentant Appledash, sex themes and implied and inferred violence. Nothing graphic, but probably worth a gore tag.

I would say that my life is cursed, I could never do anything right. The element of loyalty? Bah, I don't think so. I seem to be a coward underneath it all. How can I ever be good enough? What is worth living for? The wonderbolts? Even that dream is starting to grow sour in my mouth. I have no reason of being here. At least... that's what I was made to believe until I woke up.

I had the sweet apple harvest in my grasp. We were happy, the cider we shared was like heaven. Everything couldn't have gone any better than that day I finally confessed to her... but you know what they say. Love makes you do crazy things! But hey! Don't look at me! I wasn't the one growing with jealousy. I had my happiness until it was snatched away in the blink of an eye by a pink embroidered storm.

I wish I could go back... I wish I could change the way things happened. If only I could... then I wouldn't be stuck where I am now.

Applejack has loved Rainbow Dash for years, but she never thought Dash loved her back. About to give up, she gets some friendly advice from Granny Smith and decides to tell Rainbow how she feels, for better or worse.
