Chapter 2 – You're My Li'l Pony, Dash...

“Buffalo CHIPS!” Rainbow Dash screamed, throwing the book against the wall, before collapsing back onto the couch, a pouty frown on her face. “That’s not buckin’ fair!” She pointed out to nopony in particular, before crossing her hooves and lowering her gaze to the ground, grumbling quietly.

She looked up just in time to see another mare round the corner, a concerned expression on her face. “What’s wrong, sugar?” She asked, trotting to the sofa and sitting herself down next to Rainbow, putting one hoof over her back.

“It’s… nothing…” The pegasus whispered, looking up at Applejack before diverting her gaze. “Just a dumb book…”

The earth pony brought her hoof up to rub Rainbow’s ear, and the other blushed heavily, nuzzling against Applejack’s barrel. “Are you readin’ that Darin’ Do book Ah got for ya?” Applejack asked, kissing the top of Rainbow’s head softly. “Ah thought you enjoyed readin’ Daring’s stories.”

Dash looked up at her marefriend, blush still present on her cheeks. “I do, it’s not that… It’s just… y’know how this was the final part of the Cutie Mark of the Covenant trilogy?” Applejack nodded. “Well, I really liked the story line, and I wanted to find out what happened to the characters afterward… I wanted an epilogue… I mean, did Mareion finally admit her feelings for Daring? I really wanna know!”

Applejack chuckled softly, hoof gently rubbing against Dash’s muzzle. “Wait, wait… Yer tellin’ me that ya read a Daring Do novel for the romance?”

Rainbow’s cheeks reached a whole new level of red, and she turned away from her lover once more. “No! I mean, I – I just…” She tried to hide her small smile. It looked much more like something Fluttershy would do than the awesome and amazing Rainbow Dash. “I thought… Daring and Mareion seemed so much like us.”

Applejack rubbed Dash’s hoof lovingly. “And ya jus’ wanted them to be happy? Is that it?”

“It was obvious that Mareion was in love with Daring. All those times when she would stare at her, when she would blush when Daring would talk to her. And Daring never even noticed. I just hoped… I felt so bad for Mareion because… I guess because she was going through exactly what I went through…”

Rainbow sniffled, and Applejack noticed a stray tear falling down her muzzle. The pegasus looked up at Applejack. “I loved you for so long…” She wrapped her forelegs around the farm pony and hugged her tightly. “And I know you loved me, too, but… you never even noticed all those times I…”

“Ah’m sorry, Dashie…” Applejack planted a kiss on her lover’s muzzle. “Ah’m sorry it took so long for me to see it… It’s just… Ah loved you, too. So much, and… Maybe Ah jus’ thought I was foolin’ mahself. That you were too… perfect to fall in love with someone like me.”

“I guess…” Rainbow gently pressed her lips against Applejack’s. “I guess it’s all right now. We both ended up together, and that’s what matters. I can’t think of anypony I’d rather be with.”

“What about Princess Celestia?” Applejack asked with a smirk. “Would ya leave me to be with a goddess?”

Rainbow scoffed, looking up at her marefriend with a disbelieving expression. “Seriously, AJ? Princess Celestia?” She shook her head. “Maybe if she were blonde, and an earth pony, and had her cutie mark redone to look like yours…”

“Ah get the picture, Dashie.” Applejack replied with a quick peck on the cheek.

“I’m with you, AJ. Only you. I love you.”

The two lovers nuzzled before pressing their lips together in a soft, loving kiss. “Ah love you too, sugarcube.”

“Besides… everypony knows that Celestia’s dating Twilight.”

“Wait, what?”
