Sunny…she’s always so optimistic that she can change things here in Maretime Bay, make everypony get along, and prove a point to our system, which is inherently Earth Pony-centric.

I don’t know what the other races are like. I’ve never seen them. But from what I heard about them…I feel Sunny is going to get herself either killed or something much worse should she keep this up. She’s my only real friend here in this town and I’m all she’s got. I don’t think she truly understands how dangerous this world really is.

This is the story of me trying to live up to the mantle of a responsible sheriff, protecting the town, and my friend, even if it means protecting her from herself….

Since magic has been returned to the three pony tribes, Queen Haven has been sneaking out for unexplained reasons. That is, until she's spotted with Alphabittle in secret.

It isn't long before the media in Zephyr Heights goes into overdrive, speculating that the two leaders are a couple and that they're officially going to get engaged. When word of this reaches Bridlewood, Izzy eagerly anticipates planning a wedding.

But Zipp and Pipp aren't as enthusiastic about the whole thing. Pipp especially is less than thrilled with the prospect of her mother marrying somepony else. And it all has to do with what happened to Zephyr Heights' last king.

With the lighthouse fixed and everypony spending some time together, Hitch asks are peculiar question to Izzy about what happened on their quest. This leaves Hitch, and the others, maybe regretting asking that question in the first place.

While Sunny and Izzy were preparing lunch that day, Izzy discovers that she can do more than levitation. This leads to some unfortunate problems around Maretime Bay and beyond.

After magic is returned to Equestria, Maretime bay goes into reconstruction which later turns into a celebration.

After a fly around with Zipp, Sunny is left worried and goes to the place she always went to when in sorrow or worried; Near the coast of Maretime bay, and starts "talking" to her deceased dad.

Hitch overhears and comes by to talk to Sunny.

Hitch and Sunny have known each other for years, having grown up together along with spending their whole lives in Maretime Bay. It's no surprise that the two are close friends, a bond that hasn't been broken no matter what.

So imagine Hitch's surprise when Sunny stops by his office one day with a proposal: She wants to go on a date with him. And she's not taking no for an answer.

With no other options, Hitch agrees to the date even though he's extremely nervous. He doesn't want to jeopardize his friendship with Sunny if things don't work out, and he has no idea what Sunny has planned for him.

"Why am I doing this?" Sunny ponders after another unsuccessful speech. This time, however, Hitch confronted her, her methods, her dreams and threatened their friendship.

Sunny doesn't want to lose his only friend and crush, but she cannot give up on her dream, can she?

This is a what-if scenario, where Izzy doesn't arrive on Maretime Bay after the Annual Presentation at Canterlogic, and Sunny returns home after her conversation with Hitch at her smoothie stand.

Death tag added because of the mention of a dead character and some implications related to that theme.

School has ended and Sunny invites Hitch to come over to play for the evening. Sunny tells Hitch about her dream of unicorns and pegasi being welcomed with open hooves in Maretime Bay. Together, Hitch helps Sunny pretend to fly whilst she dreams of that fantasy becoming a reality.
