    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

    Welp, another year older and...

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

So, let's talk about the vaccine... · 3:34am Apr 15th, 2021

...which I'm getting tomorrow.

Yep, I'm getting vaccinated, and let me tell you the list of side-effects is essentially the the TOS for most of the parties I went to while I was at University in the UK. (minus mononucleosis and... a few others.)

Now, I relish the thought of injecting myself with Bill Gates' secret microchip pet project to use the Jewish Space Laser to control all of those foolish enough to believe in social distancing, science and wearing masks for our sake and that of our fellow human beings, but 5G is coming regardless and we will eventually have to submit to our snow-bringing overlords.

But let me put on the tinfoil hat for a moment here, and suggest that perhaps, just maybe, this shit's for real and that polio didn't just one day decided to retire and leave us alone. If that's the case... taking a shot for the team doesn't seem too bad.

I miss hanging out with Rob, Admiral, OutofworkDerpy, Zyrian, and many others. I think... even if I do end up feeling like I went to one party too many (is there such a thing?) it might be worth it.

So, who else is getting it or got it already?

Yeah, already got mine. I sadly have not gotten a demon arm yet

Got mine two months ago. The second round kinda sucked. Starting about 12 hours after the shot I had aches, chills, and fatigue for about a day and change, but really not that different from a flu shot.

Got mine yesterday! Next dose will be mid-May, process was smooth as butter. I have a long history of problems with needles, especially intramuscular injections, yet this was the easiest shot I've taken in years.

I'm also getting my first shot tomorrow. My doctor sister-in-law implied it might make me grow a tail, and I'm totally onboard for that side effect.

5497995 Dude I was telling my girl that I'd be down for the horns and tails if it did!
5497994 that's reassuring!
5497993 that's what I hear from most people.
5497992 here's hoping tho

Just got the second dose, felt like a troop of boy scouts used my spine for knot tying.

Hopefully getting mine soon. Waiting until the general population is allowed to register and the date is coming up. I'm looking forward to being able to go to indoor spaces that aren't my own home, once we get to that point.

Planning to get mine soon-ish. I was only waiting for the initial demands/restrictions to die down so I could get it without fuss. Combining my age, health, and lifestyle, I'm about as low-risk as they come, so I saw no reason to rush.

Haven't been vaccinated yet... but I've also had extremely minimal exposure to anyone in the last year or so. I think I've only gone further than the parking lot outside my apartment two or three times in that time, and the only time anyone entered my apartment was when I had to have maintenance over.

I was relying on public transportation, and right now that seems like a really easy way to catch COVID, so not leaving my apartment was a pretty easy decision (and I was already working at home, or I wouldn't be able to do this).

My parents and I got the second shot two days ago. All it did was give me a lump and make my shoulder extremely sore for about a day. It was a little worse than the first shot. I get a flu shot every year, and the soreness was definitely worse than those had ever been. It honestly wasn’t a big deal, though.

My mom got the aches and chills that seem to be common, but she wasn’t bedridden or anything, just uncomfortable. Her first shot only gave her a slightly sore shoulder.

Both of my dad’s shots did nothing to him. He had no side effects whatsoever.

Here’s hoping your shots go smoothly!

Edit: Oh, and just to specify, I got the vaccine from Moderna.

Got my 2nd dose 12 hours ago, planning on working through any side effects tomorrow since it's just an immune response. Many people in my family neglect their health then suddenly reject the vaccine out of fear and not laziness. Then when they do get a serious illness they lament how it could have been prevented or how they will never financially recover. Some day in the future those videos about how people in victorian england were killing themselves will be about how people in the turn of the century were still eating garbage and doing other incredible behaviors.

I'm halfway through myself, with the finisher coming Friday.

The covid microchip implant actually exists, but it isn't in the vaccine shot.

nitter.himiko.cloud/pic/media%2FEy5O0hPWEAIMnMC.jpg%3Fname%3Dorig

My demographic isn't cleared for the shot in my region yet, have to wait for higher-risk people first.

I get my second dose of Gay Agenda this Saturday. Funnily enough, aside form some soreness in the arm and the barest hints of nausea for a few hours, I felt fine. However my sister and brother-in-law were both laid out in bed for a day after.

I fully support the vaccine, and think everyone should get it—aside from the J&J one which apparently can cause blood clots?—but some things confuse me. Like, in June, I'm undergoing a series of procedures that require me coming in and being anesthetized for like half an hour three days a week for the whole month. And every single time, I have to show up at 0600 for a COVID test. Again, every single time. And... why? I got the vaccine, so what's the issue? The part that sucks the most is that because I get knocked out, they won't let me drive myself. So I have to ask my mom to pick me up at like 0530 to drive me to the hospital.

5498007 that jar seems awfully full for someone that gets one out of a thousand almost right, but regardless, as you pointed out, it's not the vaccine.

5498007 Ah shit, well, take care of yourself in the meantime as much as you have/can. I like to imagine we're at least reaching the finish line!

First shot of Moderna today, I feel like a weak guy punched my upper arm 12 hours ago.

I had a pretty convoluted experience with it. The state opened up registration to everyone this past Saturday, which just meant I could get my name on a list and be contacted if i was approved to get an actual appointment. Yet there on the same page was a link to go make an appointment. I thought it would refuse me, but it let me sign up. It was for the J&J version. Nice to be one dose, but it's got a significantly lower efficacy rating than the others. Tuesday morning, the news broke that federal sites would hold off administering that vaccine, and I wasn't sure whether to keep my appointment. There was the possibility of getting the Moderna vaccine on base, and several coworkers had been able to that way, but it involves being ready nearly at a moment's notice. No surprise when later in the day the state decided to suspend giving out the J&J vaccine as well, but they had enough Pfizer on hand to just substitute that. They didn't want to assume anyone would be okay with the switch, so they made everyone register again, but this time I got an official invitation to make an appointment. So... one of the highest rated versions of it, the quicker wait time for a second dose (as I need it before a potential test event I wanted to attend this summer), the one with less severe side effects. I lucked into it, but everything seems to be playing toward a best case scenario. 2:15 this Saturday!

5498008 That sucks man. I believe that even if you're vaccinated they don't count it as a full immunization until two months after the second dosage... I think. And I read the J&J one only had very few cases compared to the astrazeneca one, but the government paused its distribution regardless to double check... either way, I hope they figure out what's causing them.

Caught Covid for Christmas and suffered through it for about two weeks, but Work is pseudo-requiring(*) a shot too, so had my first and my second is scheduled for next week.
-The real thing really hit me like a sledge (probably because I'm older) with being in bed for a full week and pooped for most of the week after. Chaining Motrin and Tylenol made it tolerable. No wonder it kills old people.
- The first shot had me sick for a day, but Motrin and Tylenol allowed me to function. FAR better than the real thing. The wife didn't have any real reaction at all on either of hers.

(*) You have never seen a bureaucrat in action until you've seen one of them dance the We Can't Force You To Get a Shot But We Can Encourage It So Please Do But We Aren't Going To Lean On You Too Much, But Get It Anyway.

Be careful of your deadbeat dad coming to rip it off for more power.

5498012 Best of luck! My mom had the Astrazeneca since she's in Mexico and the second dosage did a number on her. It doesn't help that bloodclots are much higher risk with that one... but yeah, here's hoping for low-to-none secondary effects!
5497997 So I should get a masseuse!
5498000 fair enough, just keep yourself safe man! We still have stories to bring to life here.
5498001 Yeah, public transportation does seem like an invitation to disaster... take care of yourself until you can get the shots.
5498003 I'm getting Pfizer so we'll see, but I can only hope for the less pain-involved result!
5498004 fear is a powerful motivator to think its safer to do the wrong thing
5498005 Good for you, man! Best of luck!
5498011 then again, you are Steel Resolve :)

5498014 I have a bottle of tylenol and other basic stuff at the ready just in case!

I have yet to get it.
MyTurn told me not yet but I heard Californians my age should be able to make appointments on April 15.
But even if I do get it, need to prepare the right time to get it.
I'm still in college so I need to tactically find the right time to get a massive fever.
But hopefully when I'm vaccinated, I can finally go to a mexican joint that has outdoor dining and get myself a blasted drink.

Godspeed on the vaccine Wanderer!

I had mine earlier this year. No more different that my yearly flu shot or my "regular" monthly injections really. Some light soreness on my arm around the injection site, but that was it.

Significant Other had his last weekend when the state opened vaccinations for everyone beginning of April. He had a slight bit of nausea, no more serious than a mild case of car-sickness, for about an hour, but other than that, we have been right as rain.

5498022 Best of luck! Make a tactical calculation so you're suffering through the dates for a homework you might be late on, with a prepared email to your professor explaining that: "it was the vaccine, y'see." And that way you can still party during the weekend! This is not legal advice.

5498025 May it stay that way!

I'm gonna wait a few more months, until it's fairly widely available and not as much of an issue. My grandmother already got it.

5498027
Of course this is not legal advice. kek
This is my last semester until I get out of college if everything goes right.

If not, well

I heard rumors that the online classes will stop and go back to on-campus classes next semester...

Can't take any chances!!!

5498027
Thank you btw though!

Got my first last Saturday, getting the second one on the 30th of this month.

My sis has already had her two jabs, and me bro-in-law got his second today.

Oh, fyi, all of ours have been the Pfizer one.

Got my first short earlier this week, second shot scheduled for May. I am getting to EFNW 100%.

5498020
I am. Grocery delivery and having deliveries left at your door goes a long way, and really, I was already kinda inclined to live like a hermit...

I do need to get my glasses replaced at some point and don't know my prescription, but they are usable, if in bad shape.

5498029 I would check if you can register for a message when it's available for you. If the J&J is not available in the future, that'd be two shots and the time saving might be worth your while.
5498032 Here's hoping for a smooth experience!
5498033 awesome! Most of my family has gotten it or is in the process of.

I'm on the list, I'm also one of the at-risk individuals, so I'm worried about those flu-like symptoms since even the normal flu could likely kill me. lol

5498036 The cons will keep suffering unfortunately, but we need to see what happens! We need to keep the fandom alive out there!
5498040 That is one of the things that sort of freaks me out.... not for myself, but for people I know. Stay safe.

Wait, you believe that Bill Gates is real? Wake up, sheeple. Bill Gates was invented by Windows 98, the first sapient OS.

So there are several side affects i have heard first hand or second hand. One of them was head aches and just feeling overall just horrible. That was from a teacher who got it.
And for the over thing is that you do have a possibility of getting Covid even after taking the vaccine

Wanderer D

5498044 The vaccines are pretty high up in immunization, and obviously the more people are vaccinated the effectiveness increases past that 95%/97%
The secondary effects for the vaccine are unfortunately real, but are objectively a minor inconvenience vs the real risk of death that comes from CV-19, right? Feel shitty for a couple of days vs face down naked with a tube down your throat pumping oxygen into lungs that can't take it? I'll feel shitty for a couple of days.

5498043 Bill Gates is a symbol. A banner. The deep fake Windows created to pretend to be human.

The side effect list is every random ass symptom that got reported in a certain time frame after the test group got it. You’ll be fine but take the day of and the day or two after off in case you have one of the stronger reactions which shouldn’t get much worse than feeling like you got a flu for a day. Arm soreness and fatigue are real common the day after. Regular, gentle massage on the shoulder helps with the soreness. Sleep off the fatigue. ‘

If you feel a sudden urge to purchase Microsoft products that’s not the vaccine. That’s Bill Gates.

My grandma already got the vaccine and, aside from needing to lie down for a day or two, she's feeling just fine ^_^

5498013
The safety and efficacy data reports are up on New England Journal of Medicine website for free. For Pfizer and Moderna they counted all the cases a week out from the second shot. the test group of 25kish people had 95-98% less cases of covid compared to the group without vaccine (also 25k ish people). The single shot vaccines seem to prevent 75-ish% of cases give or take 5-ish percent which is basically the same as a single shot of Pfizer or Moderna so idk why such a big deal is being made about them. Anyways the vaccine takes your chances of getting symptomatically Ill from low-ish to super low but not to zero. Also afaik currently inconclusive data on whether or not you can still catch the virus and pass it to someone else after you have the vaccine which may be why some hospitals are still requiring multiple swabs before procedures. Too many vulnerable people there to risk it.

NEJM also has case reports for the J&J and Astrazenica clotting incidents. J&J had like 6 cases out of almost 7 million shots. Astrazenica had 5 in 130k-ish. Dunno about J&J but 3 of the 5 Astrazenica were females on either contraceptive or hormone replacement. For whatever reason a week or two out from the vaccine they started making antibodies that bind to and activate your own platelets so not only did they clot everywhere there was also no platelets left to stop the natural tiny bleeds that you get and fix all the time. Big hemorrhagic strokes in most of them. No bueno.

This is not financial advice. I like the stock, Buy GME. Hodl.

Final dose next week. Then it’s just hopin the damn thing doesn’t mutate enough to sidestep the vaccine on us. :rainbowdetermined2:

I'm with the team first dose atm. The damn car line was miles long here in Eugene OR but the walk up line got me through pretty quickly.

getting mine done this Saturday :yay:

I wanted to get the Pfizer first shot last Friday, but my allergies have been so bad for a few weeks. I couldn't honestly say no to the symptoms list in the questionnaire to get it when they ask if you've had a runny nose. Of course I have, and I already got tested twice! Trying to get that under control so they don't turn me away on site. I might have to get a doctor's note or something.

Thought I want to put out there:
I think the reason the mRNA vaccines and similar ones knock people down a peg is because they basically work like a virus. With "traditional" vaccines the bits of virus are made in a lab to later inject into you. With these new types your own body is used to produce the viral vector (like the spike protein). So, your body has to expend energy to make the thing that then provokes the desired immune response to protect against COVID-19. That's obviously going to be harder on people, but it's probably less costly and quicker to make because they're outsourcing most of the production to you, see?

I got my two doses last month through the VA. First one made me a little sore but I did okay. The second on kicked my butt and put me in bed for a night and a day. But I've got my card and I'll be heading Everfree!

Yeah, got the J&J last week. Felt tired for a day, slept the whole time, was fine the next day.

Yeah I got my J&J last Friday. Was sick for a couple days but other than sore arm I feel fine after it all.
