475179I'd have to partially agree with you there. Really the only bad thing about Discord was change. The only reason ponies fear him is because he represents change. I mean, his chaos never did any actual harm to anypony. If anything, they were just a bit of an elaborate joke.

Well, onto my opinions.
1) Not voting. Even if I was another 8 months older, I wouldn't vote either way. In my opinion, both candidates are complete crap.
2) Princess Luna. I think she would do nicely as head of Equestrian government.
3) Twilight Sparkle. She has awesome organization skills.
4) Discord. For reasons stated above.

And if you were asking for human candidates for Equestrian government, here's my answer to that: BUCK NO! I choose neither. Both candidates are morons that would send Equestria into a dark age worse than if Nightmare Moon, Discord, and Chrysalis ruled together.

He is -chaos- just because he was light and fluffy with his destruction of the landscape and everyone's personal lives this time does not mean it would have stayed that way. Some days he might help them, other days screw around with them, and maybe for fun make them fight or turn them inside out and let them run around like that until they expired somewhere. You cannot be "Refined, Pleasant Chaos", there's no such thing. It completely violates the principle of what being chaotic IS. When he was ruling Equestria, things were apparently so bad that Celestia and Luna had to take him down. They don't seem the type to be power-hungry throne-snatchers, so it had to be for a damn reason.

But no, all the Discordites will go on about is how chocolate rain isn't hurting anyone, and a little change up isn't bad. Because they don't want to bother thinking about the true nature of Chaos or what consequences even his most minor actions would bring. He sure doesn't care about 'details' like that.

No better than the NLR fools going on about how Nightmare Moon was just misunderstood and Celestia's some evil tyrant. Nightmare Moon was an abomination, Luna's darkest thoughts and negative emotions drew an evil entity named Nightmare to her and it preyed on those feelings to possess her, per Lauren Faust herself. Eternal night would have meant the destruction of Equestria, and genocide of ponies. Discord, NMM, and Chrysalis were -true villains- who would have either destroyed or enslaved all of Equestria in either neverending misery or a grisly end. Gotta use some basic reasoning here, can't just go by exactly what happens on the screen because it's meant for little children, and there are just some things you shouldn't show them.

She did what she thought was right, even if it meant banishing her sister to the moon. But Nightmare Moon was misunderstood. The only reason she came about was because ponies didn't appreciate her night that she worked so hard to create. And when she tried to show ponies how beautiful her night was, they called her a villain. They were no better than Luna, if not worse, for indulging themselves in their own pleasures. They did things that would be acknowledged, yet Luna was never recognised for her mastery of the night sky.

Also, with Discord. I will say right now, even without him, there is chaos. There will always be chaos, and there is nothing that anyone can do to change that. And think about this. If Discord did do all those harsh things on a daily basis, then that would soon become the norm. All anypony would have to do is give the chaos a chance. But no, they see chaos and they freak out because of the slightest change to the societal norm.

And for the record, I am a servant of chaos. And a loyal vassal to Nightmare Moon. Slander their names, and you shall pay.

As a non-American it would appear to me that you as a country is in a very problematic financial situation (see: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/United_States_public_debt), largely due to earlier republican governments, with the tax-cuts they've promised financed with non-existent money and all the wars you run. Should China decide they want their money paid back, you'd be broke. Handling the country under those conditions, regardless of political party seems like an almost impossible task, but considering that I think Obama has done OK so far. Like you Bronystories, I am sceptical about Biden, however.

Seeing that Romney has promised to cut taxes further, in a time where your only sustainable option for the future would be to raise taxes to pay off your debt (or at least to keep it from growing further), I don't think you can afford a republican government at this time.

I'm not sure how much you follow how your politics is documented by the world outside the US, but in several polls, both in my country and in many others worldwide, Obama has by far been chosen as the best (out of two bads, some would say) to lead the country for another period. Here in Sweden, the percentage of people who wanted Obama over Romney was 91%. Ninety-one-percent.

Then again, you are only offered two candidates, two large parties, with relatively similar opinions (considering what's out there in the rest of the world). It's almost as if someone figured it would be better to spare the American people from having to make such tough decisions at all
