I write pony words. Millions of them. Some people actually think they might be worth reading. I am very thankful for that. Also, I have a Patreon now?

    My birthday

Today I turned 32. For reference, when I started on this site, I was a simple college student. Now I'm married with 4 kids. Time does fly.

    So I asked Gemini AI...

To summarize the story TD the Alicorn Princess. The result I got was... interesting.

    1. Fimfiction story: This story involves Peter Westmoore, a responsible college student, who is transported to the magical land of Equis and transformed into an alicorn princess named TD. He faces challenges adapting to his new life and ruling his nation.

    So...

As many of you well know, I'm a father of three. A four-year-old, a two-year-old, and a one-year-old. It's pretty great. Can be difficult, but overall a pretty big blessing. How my wife takes care of three kids five days a week is beyond me, as I have a hard time taking care of them two days a week when my wife goes off to work.

    So yeah...

    Editing help

Yes, I'm calling out for editors again. I want to submit a story to the Cozy Glow contest, and I want to make sure that the story I just wrote for it is good, or "wow, that's a jumbled mess of ideas, far too mean, and the ending is terrible."

Let me know if you'd like to help. Any extra eyes would be highly appreciated.

Important questions that bother me and I want answers for. · 12:56am Dec 8th, 2018

1. Are there actually people out there who think that Calvin and Hobbes isn't the greatest comic strip ever?

2. Are there actually people out there who watched the musical Les Misérables who didn't think that Marius and Eponine was the better pairing than Marius and Cosette? I mean, they only killed her off because they didn't want a love triangle, right?

3. How many people know that Canadians are the only species of human hatched from eggs?

4. If Superman's adoptive parents were gunned down in front of him by a mugger, would he also be a brooding loner?

5. How did the Gondorians load their trebuchets with those massive pieces of their city at Minas Tirith?

6. On that note, would Tolkien look at things like the Jackson LotR movies and realize that some things have to be changed for the transition from book to screen, or would he weep to see what they did? How would he view the Shadow of Mordor games?

7. Is Elf an overrated, unfunny PoS, or is it charming and fun?

8. Why on Earth have we not seen bat ponies in the show in a long, long time? And I'm not talking the Fluttershy type.

9. Is it true that all politicians are born from pits like uruk-hai?

10. Am I going to be a good father oh gosh I'm so freaked out 33 days maybe probably earlier jeez oh no.

Ugh. Maybe I'll do a part 2 someday. In the meantime, resurgence is going to update probably tomorrow.

Last few are very true. As for the Elf one, meh, it depends.

4977868
What did you mean very true? They're all questions.

2. Yes, but if Eponine hadn't died then we never would've gotten "A Little Fall of Rain," so it evens out.

3. As a Canadian, I find this joke highly offensive. Everyone knows that Canadians are created from the same industrial process that produces bags of milk.

4. If the current movies are any indication, you only need to kill one of them with a tornado to achieve that.

5. Ancient Maiar secrets known only to Gandalf, passed down from the great Valar Orvalanta.

10. I'm sure you'll be great.

Why on Earth have we not seen bat ponies in the show in a long, long time? And I'm not talking the Fluttershy type.

All I know is that Larson tried his darndest to work them back in, including one competing with a Day Guard to see who could do a better impression of their respective princess in "Slice of Life."

Congrats on your impending fatherhood!

1) No, unless they are subhuman scum
2)Walked out of Les, ONLY play I ever walked out on and got my money back. I could not stand that abortion of play writing.
3)they are?
4)they did that, it is comic called "The Authority"
5)??
6)Tolkien was a hack, and an embarrassment to writers from the dawn of time and into the future.
7)Overrated trash, I agree.
8)I KNOW RIGHT!
9)You are giving uruk-hal a bad name with that comment
10) Dude, every father worries about this. Just do right, teach your kid right from wrong, how to stand up for themselves, and how to win/lose graceful in life. Teach them confidence and they will go far.

Regarding number 9, I know a few Uruk Hai who would be extremely offended by the comparison.

I wish we had bat ponies again.

You are going to be a great dad

Well the fact that yer worried if youll be a good father is enough proof that you will be.

9. Occasionally one manages to make it back to Earth after having a run in with Doom guy.

Tony Benn..

5. Forklift trucks.

I mean, you have an invading army that size and youre throwing chunks of rock at them? At the very least you analyze the optimum size that causes limb break, then throw weak net bags the weight of those chunks and shrapnel them. then when the big stuff comes along, you put on the Tun barrels of boiling alcohol and tar, set fire to them, then launch them. If you set the claypot with water inside just right, you can make a fuel air blast big enough to turn war elephants into salsa. even The Longbow, at that height, would cause problems if fired by the kiloarrow? Then theres the favourite, let them approach the gates of the city via Bowling Alley.

4977869
8, 9, and 10 are straight yesses.

4977873
2. We'll... Agree to vehemently disagree with that. Very, very vehemently. You say awful, I say greatest musical ever. The 10th anniversary dream cast thing with Colm Wilkinson as JVJ is the best performance of a musical I've ever seen as well.
4. Huh. Makes me think that a lot of comics are just fanfiction at this point.
6. Again, disagree. The fantasy genre as we know it doesn't exist without him.

1. Garfield in his heyday was just as funny if not more.
2. Haven't seen it.
3. I didn't know that!
4. It would be the Injustice games but sooner.
5. What?
6. He'd might see it like how PL Travers and Mary Poppins or he's love them.
7. Overrated, unfunny, and charming.
8. Not enough toys?
9. Maybe.
10. First time fathers have it rough, but you'll get the hang of it.

4977889
1. Blasphemy. Especially if you look at the creators and history of both.

I'll take Garfield over Calvin and Hobbes anyday.

Man do i WISH we had more Batponies. Its a crying shame I tell you!

As a Canadian, I can confirm that we're not hatched from eggs.

We emerge from the ice of frozen over lakes, with skates on our feet, a hockey stick in one hand and a cup of Tim Hortons' coffee in the other

4977895
I was made from maple syrup.

7. Is Elf an overrated, unfunny PoS, or is it charming and fun?

I have yet to meet an elf that doesn't somehow qualify for a long day in the sauna by the trade depot.

:moustache:

I like this comic right now.

I always preferred Dilbert myself.

1. Yes, and they are sad, although Garfield in it's prime was almost as good, at least from the entertainment perspective if not the artistry. I also enjoy Dilbert, Get Fuzzy, Pearls Before Swine, Zits, and Baby Blues, among others.
2. Never saw any of the musicals, but I have seen the incredible movie from the 70s. Best version I've ever seen. The actor that plays Bilbo in LotR is the innkeeper.
3. I was not aware of this. No wonder our cousins are so strange.
4. There's only room for one of those in the world. You know, superman used to be interesting, like in the old cartoons and comics from the 1940s, but in my limited view of the series he became waaaaaay too powerful. Stories about someone with limitless power become increasingly contrived to maintain the plot, usually in the form of endless hostage situations. But then again, I haven't been super involved in the series, so I may speak in error.

batmanisbesthero

5. I have not a clue. Let's call it "dramatic license".
6. Who knows if he would have let it happen in the first place if he was alive. Maybe he would say "go ahead" knowing that concessions have to be made. I personally think Peter Jackson did a ripping good job for the most part (presuming one watches the extended addition of course).
7. Elf almost doesn't work, but perhaps because it gets so close to that edge it works marvelously. It is absurd, silly, and childish, and it takes you along for the ride--with a fantastic soundtrack, I might add. It has so many good gags.
8. Shame isn't it :(
9. For the most part lol. I can think of a very few exceptions though.
10. I'm so excited for you! Just keep your priorities straight and you'll do great!

6. Again, disagree. The fantasy genre as we know it doesn't exist without him.

Quite. Don't get me wrong--he wasn't a great author by the usual standards, but he was an extraordinary creator. I've read LotR four times, and am blown away every time. We owe him a lot.

1 I prefer Hobbes and Bacon.

# 9 Not all. Some are produced by spontaneous generation from moldy oats and old dirty clothes,

4977917
Weren't there only a small handful of those?

1. just off the top of my head, garfield in it's prime, krazy kat, peanuts, and calvin and hobbes are all up there. (XKCD is still my favourite comic)
3. Yes, we are born from the canadian demon geese eggs
10. Yes, you'll be an amazing father!
I̕͏̢̖̣̹̘̜ ̣̝w̻̠í̖̳͓̲̭̹̲l̀͏̡̹͕l̯ ͏̗̮̹͇̮̦c͖̣̺͚̙͓͔͈ò̖̻̭̜̭̟̱̤̰n̜̘͟͡s̴͏̯̳̬u̶͎̜̱̮̞̖m̷̟͠ę̷̢̭̞͍ ͔͈y͕͎̭̪̲̪̰̮o͓̮̤̕̕͠u̴̢͙̥̝̙̬͇̮͠r̛̹̤̰͉͉͔̀ ҉̸̠̖͕͓̜̘̹̤o̢̨̤͚̙͉̜̹̳ͅf̵͉̪͔͕̜̥̫̻̮f̹̲s͈̖̫͖͎p͟҉̹̕r̠͖͕̰͓ͅì̠̲̼̯̝̫͖͡͝n̩͉̩͇ǵ̛͏̻

Start writing your dad jokes right now. You'll be great, trust me.

4. Well according the Zach Snyder, Supes losing his adoptive father to a tornado turned him into a brooding loner.

5. The same way most massive projects are done with pre-industrial age technology, lots and lots of cheap labor.

8. Lack of vision, understanding of their own world-building, and adhering to their own established canon. Really, the show has never had a long term plan since Faust left, assuming it ever did. And it's been showing since the end of season 5. Really, most of the species introduced in season 1 and the first half of season 2 have all but been forgotten (Diamond Dogs, zebras, batponies...). It's my hope that the new show will clean a lot of this up, and show a bit more ambition for the show.

9. No, the true process is far more horrifying.

10. There is only one thing to do: panic, panic hard.

1. Only people with no sense of culture or humor.

5. A wizard did it.

6. He let the film rights go for next to nothing because he knew that making a movie out of what he wrote would be impossible.

7. It had Will Ferrell in it. That's all I ever needed to know about it.

8. Because they know that nothing they could ever do with the topic could ever match what we've done.

9. That comparison is insulting to uruk-hai.

10. Congratulations?

1) Sadly, yes.
2) Right.
3) Actually, the same can be said for both Swedes and Danes.
4) No, he'd go crazy and kill everybody.
5) I'll go with MLP's go to explanation; because magic.
6) Probably wouldn't approve of the movies, but would like the games.
7) Charming and fun; so bad it's good.
8) Hasbro fears ugly reprisals and the sheer amount of Rule 34 fan art this would result in.
9) No, a few come from a separate hole underneath the Daily Mail's head office.
10) In the words of Top Gear; 'How hard can it be?'. At least yours won't shoot magical death rays whenever it sneezes.

4977935
Yes, but they were awesome!:rainbowkiss:

4978005
1. The Far Side is an acceptable answer. It's certainly the best single panel comic ever.
7. Even when I was the target audience for Elf, I thought it was awful. It killed Will Ferrell for me for years until I saw Stranger than Fiction.

4978055
Are you saying the Will Ferrell is an automatic yes or an automatic no?

4978121
I have never seen a movie involving him that would not have been improved by a sudden Monty-pythonesque arrest of his character by inexplicable SWAT troopers. like, 5 min into his first scene a pack of police run up, throw him in a van, and take off.

And then the movie proceeds without him as if nothing happened.

1. Are there actually people out there who think that Calvin and Hobbes isn't the greatest comic strip ever?

Yes, although this isn't quite as horrible as it sounds. It only means that many people have different criteria for "greatest" and are not looking at objective facts. I, myself, while recognizing C&H as the greatest, see Far Side as funniest.

2. Are there actually people out there who watched the musical Les Misérables who didn't think that Marius and Eponine was the better pairing than Marius and Cosette? I mean, they only killed her off because they didn't want a love triangle, right?

Never seen it, so can't comment.

3. How many people know that Canadians are the only species of human hatched from eggs?

They are not. It only appears that way because the ice that forms around them often looks like an egg.

4. If Superman's adoptive parents were gunned down in front of him by a mugger, would he also be a brooding loner?

It depends on how old he was when it happened and how he was treated immediately after.

5. How did the Gondorians load their trebuchets with those massive pieces of their city at Minas Tirith?

They used plot hooks.

6. On that note, would Tolkien look at things like the Jackson LotR movies and realize that some things have to be changed for the transition from book to screen, or would he weep to see what they did? How would he view the Shadow of Mordor games?

I have the feeling he was enough of a wordsmith to understand that things would need to be changed, but would be disappointed in how it was changed.

7. Is Elf an overrated, unfunny PoS, or is it charming and fun?

I wouldn't go quite as far as PoS, but then again, I've never watched the movie all the way through.

8. Why on Earth have we not seen bat ponies in the show in a long, long time? And I'm not talking the Fluttershy type.

Because the writers have dropped the ball and haven't written any good episodes for them to appear in.

9. Is it true that all politicians are born from pits like uruk-hai?

No.
Please do not insult the uruk-hai like that.

10. Am I going to be a good father oh gosh I'm so freaked out 33 days maybe probably earlier jeez oh no.

You will make mistakes, but as long as you stay humble and consistently strive to do better, you'll be a great father.
(speaking from experience)

4977977
oops.

I think I have to place C&H as #2 if we include webcomics, because XKCD is so far out of everyone else's league.

4978123
Stranger than Fiction is actually pretty good.

1) Yes, but only because they have yet to read it.

2) I haven't seen it so I don't know. Sorry.

3) I did, but only because I've spent a good portion of my life within 100 miles of the border.

4) Yes. He would also be wracked by both survivors guilt and the experience of committing his first murder in retaliation.

5) A wizard did it.

6) I think he would understand most of the changes, but be upset over others. Not familiar with Shadow of Mordor, though so I can't pass judgement.

7) Overrated, unfunny PoS.

8) Hasboro likely thinks they are unmarketable and "not girly enough".

9) You appologise to the uruk-hai, right now, young man! That was uncalled for!

10) You'll do fine. Mistakes will be made, but that is normal.

4978123 4978259

Agreed. Stranger Than Fiction (2006) is definitely not your typical Will Ferrell movie.

It feels more like the kind of story that begins as a novel and never gets a movie adaptation, except that, this time, it did, and they chose Will Ferrell more to counterbalance that perceived risk.

YouTube commenters like to argue over whether it's a movie version of The Stanley Parable or whether The Stanley Parable is a game adaptation of it.

The trailer condenses things in a punchy way which destroys the atmosphere, so I suggest looking at clips like the intro and the you have to die scene instead.

Elf is... less than "okay" but not "bad"
To the important question: You'll do fine as a father if you remember the to use the words "No" and "Don't" while avoiding helicopter mode. Look up details on food allergies!
Also make sure that you and your wife keep up your own relationship; it's going to be a trying time what with having a lot less time and less sleep

For 2; I'd say that while Marius doesn't deserve Cosette, Cosette does deserve love, and that Eponine is probably the most tragic character in Les Mis, but she mocked and abused Cosette the whole time they were kids until Valjean came for her, so Eponine's "On My Own" rings hollow just a bit. Also the Thenardiers can rot in hell, but you didn't hear that from me.

1. Are there actually people out there who think that Calvin and Hobbes isn't the greatest comic strip ever?

Yes. Me. Opus was better, but its okay you like that one more. And I think Calvin's creator is starting up again, like Opus's.

2. Are there actually people out there who watched the musical Les Misérables who didn't think that Marius and Eponine was the better pairing than Marius and Cosette? I mean, they only killed her off because they didn't want a love triangle, right?

I didn't like Les Miserable.

3. How many people know that Canadians are the only species of human hatched from eggs?

No they don't. They spring forth from their fathers heads like Athena, and do so more canadianian then their predecessor.

4. If Superman's adoptive parents were gunned down in front of him by a mugger, would he also be a brooding loner?

Probably not.

5. How did the Gondorians load their trebuchets with those massive pieces of their city at Minas Tirith?

dwarf slaves

6. On that note, would Tolkien look at things like the Jackson LotR movies and realize that some things have to be changed for the transition from book to screen, or would he weep to see what they did? How would he view the Shadow of Mordor games?

"Kind of missed the point there mate."
-Tolkien

7. Is Elf an overrated, unfunny PoS, or is it charming and fun?

Haven't seen it

8. Why on Earth have we not seen bat ponies in the show in a long, long time? And I'm not talking the Fluttershy type.

They pulled a Chengar and wrote them out of existence

9. Is it true that all politicians are born from pits like uruk-hai?

No, their born the regular way, just horrible. Except Trump

10. Am I going to be a good father oh gosh I'm so freaked out 33 days maybe probably earlier jeez oh no.

No idea, but oh God, the bronies are breeding! I thought I was the only getting it on, and I'm careful! I was told the rest of you were incels!

This is a troubling chain of events Bronywriter, very troubling INDEED! THE BRONIES ARE MULTIPLYING, RUN FOR THE HILLS:raritycry:

4977895
did you know that my state Pennsylvania has yins beat by 4 years when it comes to hockey we had it before yins did AND we were the first ones to pay our players starting in 1901

Regarding the last one: I know I'm late to the party (happy belated second birthday to the little guy), but thought I should say you'll be great. Just love him well, don't hold back on the tough love when necessary, and above all remember 1 Corinthians 13 (a.k.a the love chapter). If you can love, all will be well.
4983863
I'm not an incel either, but that's because I don't want kids and not because I've had any successful ventures (although, I am working on it with one in particular).... though the idea of having my own little brony or... well, typical little girl (but perhaps one that doesn't grow out of it)... you have me reconsidering the first part:rainbowkiss:
