    Upped to Mature

The patron requested it, so Blue Wedding Belles is now rated Mature, and will proceed under that banner. Figured I should post an alert about that.

So, do you like LitRPGs? Here's one set in the modern day as a catboy (there are reasons for that) discovers a whole new world of trouble, and a job.

All the Hate · 2:39am Sep 18th, 2018

I don't really know how I did it, but I tripped over a nerve and everyone (half of everyone) hated my latest story. It was amazing.

Did you get a peek before I took it down?

I don't quite remember if I did. What was it about? :rainbowhuh:

no i missed it, sorry.

Human is invited to Equestria, goes, finds out he is a powerless alicorn with a grey-tone color scheme. Eventually runs into Pinkie, who gets curious about him. He can shapeshift? It wasn't really gotten into yet.

He is also worse than Hitler, according to some.

I saw it but passed since it didn't really interest me. Sorry to hear it wasn't received well.

I guess it is general hate towards alicorn OC.

Ouch! Sorry to hear man. :(

Didn't get a chance to see it. Granted, the premise wasn't too eye catching to me from the short summary. But damn, not even 24 hours? That was fast.

I saw it but did not bother downvoting, it just seemed like a boring overplayed idea. I only read fics that seem like that if they update daily or have more than 50k words. (because that shows that the author put some serious work into the idea, so they may have done somthing interesting with it.0

I was actually curious about it. Yikes though. Now I know not to post my Alicorn OC idea.

Weekly, and eventually.

I found it confusing. The events jumped with no real explanation and there seemed to be no motivation behind the main character.

Well that is sad. I was curious where you where planning on taking the story as I trust you as an author. Sad that the trolls and the haters never gave you a chance.

Yeah, self-insert alicorn OC HiE is always gonna flop. Sorry I didn't warn you of impending doom.

Did you get a peek before I took it down?

Nope.

The heck? :rainbowhuh:

So... you took it down because it had a 50/50 up/downvote ratio? Or did you mean something else.

4939534
The comments were in strong agreement.

I probably would have read it once it got at least a few more chapters in.

Alicorn OCs as a rule usually dont go over too well unfortunately.

If your character changes into one later on...like they earn it...it can be forgiven for the most part, but starting out as an alcorn is a hard sell.

personally i think you could pull it off, but you will have to suffer through the haters to do it unfortunately.

4939526
Self-insert? I already did a Self-Insert alicorn OC. It's my longest running series.

It had a better vote ratio too. It's still updating, actually.

People are literally paying me to write it.

They paid me to write this too though, so what does that show in the end?

I read it, it's sad that this happened. I had this problem with my story that is similar to what you did. I never took it down.

4939517
There was much to learn.

The interest was not there. The hatred was, in abundance.

4939539
It's extra funny because he was a powerless alicorn that couldn't fly OR do magic.

Most likely many of those that down voted did not even read the story, but instead they just saw the picture of the alicorn OC then decided to down vote.

Just my opinion, but folks seem a little on edge lately. I've always received a few downvotes in my stories, but a quickie I posted this past week had 3 negative downvotes before it had 2 upvotes. I was surprised, as I'd never seen that happen before. This was my first short story after several years. I'm not sure what people are looking for right now, so I'm just going to work out what I'm doing with my longer story that's in progress.

I wish you the best of luck either way, and I say you should keep it going. If you want to publish it, do it.

4939545
Well you could always post it on a different site for those that are interested.

I'm afraid not. I saw the story, didn't have much time then, and marked it to look at more closely later, but I hadn't gotten to that yet when I saw this blog post. What happened?

What the hell? I was waiting for more on that.

4939558
You have an interesting way of demonstrating it.

4939556
Unhappy comments and a near 50/50 vote ratio.

Didn't get the chance to read it, shame you pulled it. Also, the Hitler comments seem a tad overused(did the character somehow commit mass genocide or other similar atrocities in the first chapter. And no, being an alicorn doesn't count) that it makes me wonder if the commenters even read the story at all.

Emtu #31 · Sep 18th, 2018 · · 1 ·

Well shit, I was looking forward to more of it. People need to pull their heads out of their asses and not leave shitty comments.

I like it...

4939581
Ah. Sorry about that.

4939581
it's not 50/50 anymore and the sample size is much too small to be drawing any conclusions, Mr. Silver. Please shrug it off and keep charging forward. Ok?

didn't have the chance to read it (don't read much this days) but post a GDOC link so we might see what all the fuss was about

Didn't some famous butler once say, "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up."

leave it up. pulling it down means nothing unless you care too much about ratings

Afraid I hadn't gotten to that one yet. Sorry for the blowback, though taking the story down might not have been the best response.

4939569
What? You mean faving it?

4939706

You added the story to a group for horrible stories.

Also, again, already did the self-insert alicorn story, this isn't it. It's pretty clearly labeled and everything. I write what I am paid to write these days, which makes me, the author, not the focus.

I saw it and was shocked at the dislikes, I read some of the comments and it looked typical " haters gonna hate" stuff - however I must admit - ever since the "reboot" in silver - Iv'e been gun shy to read any of your other stories.. I really didn't care for that - but that's my opinion and it doesn't make it a bad story .. personally if I thumbs down a story - It's usually for bad writing and/or grammar, or a plot that is just a lost cause - like equestria girls transported to the real world.... Just why.... . Anyway.. I'd never take a story down if you wrote it to be seen - you can't please everyone and sometimes the neigh-sayers will get to it first, oh well life goes on.

4939742
That story was a wild ride. I shall not be repeating it. No reboots or 'it was all a dream' unless we're doing a groundhog day type thing.

Did you know that story is still being updated?

4939734
It's called "publicity". Since I'm assuming you saw the group's summary, it's pretty obvious that I was spreading it. If I was "hating" (:pinkiesick:), on it, then why was I praising your writing in the comments, let alone faving it? Jesus, man up, dude.

Well, nuts.
I saw it, but I was on my tablet. When I'm on my tower, I autodownload new stuff.

Everyone wtf was this story about I want to here from everyone

i wana read it:fluttercry:

I saw it, fav'ed it, was planning to read it, but I didn't get to it before you took it down. I did notice it had a crazy high downvote ratio.

I mean, there are a few people who hate the idea of a HIE turning into an alicorn, but it's so weird to see a ton of downvotes on someone's 72nd story like that, off a 2K starting chapter.

I wonder if someone wrote a blog complaining about it and linking to it.

Edit: Read all the comments above, think that answers my question. Yeah I people who join bad stories groups do so just so they can drive-by downvote, no wonder it attracted so much opprobrium.

Ok, now I'm beyond curious. I really want to read it now.

4939759
Putting a story in a group, made to show people bad stories is not helping it. People will look at that story being in the group, and never want to read it since the group is for stories that are "absolutely disgusting". And I imagine it wouldn't feel nice as the author to see their story being added to such a group.
