Easily, I didn't even think about how much more applicable that one was to the story. It's practically the inner monologue. Old Friends fits, too, and works as a companion piece to Bookends. That's what I was thinking, clearly too intensely.

By the way, having just slogged through the morass of End of Ponies for the first time, (and I say that in such a way as to mean "crinklecut fries on cheese was that ever a lot to read and wrap my head through") speeding through and reading all 500k+ of it this week, and only adding 24 new stories to my "Read Later" list, I say this:
1: Only 24?!
2: That's quite the remarkable storytelling ability you've got here, SSE
3: EoP is maybe half done? And BP is nearing its end? (Cue blank look followed by moment of lightly snapping)
