Twilight floated a second fritter up to her mouth when she realized the first was gone. “What is in these things?” “Mostly love. Love ‘n about three sticks of butter.”

Blast from the Past: Now 100% Less Likely to Get Me In Trouble

Hey, some of you guys remember that thing I did a long time ago, where I wrote up 50 questions about headcanon and suggested people answer them on their blogs, and then, like, everyone on the site wanted to do it, and then the site mods sent me nice but stern messages suggesting I cut that shit out because it was spamming people's feeds?

    Full Circle

Wanderer D posted a touching retrospective of his time in fandom, and that made me remember the very first I ever heard of the show.

(Potential implied spoilers but maybe not? below.)

Updates and BronyCon info · 1:30am Jul 6th, 2016

So, I have been a very busy person. Below the cut is info on BronyCon and on my upcoming novel. If you're concerned about my lack of pony words and/or blogging, I promise I will be back to that soon. I just have about ten projects going on at once right now.

First, some important BronyCon info:
My panel, Love Blooms Again: More Shipping and Romance Writing in MLP Fandom, will be Saturday Night at 10:30 PM in the Hall of the Sun. I'll be there, along with my fellow panelists MidnightDancer, Capn_Chryssalid, Titanium Dragon, and horizon.

Other than that, I will only be around for Saturday and Sunday, and we've decided it's best if I leave my husband and Trixie home. I'm very sorry to folks who were looking forward to meeting her (or him,) but it's pretty clear that she would have an awesome time for about three hours, then she would be over-tired and scream at the top of her lungs if anything did not go exactly how she wanted, including me not letting her pull people's drinks off of tables. Everyone will be happier if she stays home where she's comfortable, trust me. Hopefully next year we'll be able to make it work.

So I'll be around Saturday and Sunday and actually able to do things! And I'll have presents for people! (Okay, not actually presents, more like "shameless self-promotion.")

See, the other thing I've been busy with is that my novel finally has a release date, August 22, and a cover (but I can't show you yet, because I'm not sure it's 100% finished and I didn't ask my publisher.) However, I am going to have promo material at BronyCon, and I can show you guys what some of that will look like!

These will be little postcard-type things:

(If the text on that second one is making your eyes hurt, here's a link to a larger/higher res version.)

There will also be mini-bookmarks. So if you're a person at BronyCon who likes shiny pieces of paper, or reads books, or knows other beings of any species who read books, I will be forcing them on you.

If you're not going to BronyCon, and you're worried that you will not remember when my book is coming out, don't. You will know. I'll make sure of it. In the time leading up to it, I plan to do several blog posts about things I learned while writing it, about the development, and I plan to release several short stories and minifics that take place before the events of the novel and are spoiler free. I also have review copies going out to a number of respected fandom writers and reviewers, and I'll link to reviews if/when they post them, so hopefully you'll be able to see how other MLP fans like it.

And if you really don't care about these humans I wrote about, I will make sure to use page break wisely so that you can avoid my rambling and don't have to unfollow me.

Whoo! I will certainly be at that panel.

And I'm planning to start on my own novel once I'm done with my current MLP project, so I'm interested in hearing how the process went for you.

Awesome! Can't wait to see you again. I'd invite you to my panel, but it's on Friday.

The process went bumpy for me, but I'll be going into some of that. Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes, or at least decide which ones you want to make.

I think I'm obligated to be at that panel.

Looking forward to seeing you and make sure to give my love to your lovely horsebando and Trixie.

I look forward to meeting you!

Sweet. I'll get to see you again.

That'll be fun.

Can't wait to meet you both!

I have a little secret hope in my heart that we will get to hang out at some point in quieter circumstances and geek out about tarot/paganism things, but even if that sounds like fun I know how convention time can vanish out from underneath (the generic) you, so I know better than to set expectations. I will look forward to meeting you in any case.

And thank you again for the panel invite! I will do my horse-darndest to bring my A game. :pinkiehappy:

It's a bit of a shame to not get to see how much Trixie has grown in a year, but it's entirely understandable why.

Woo!
I miight have to borrow some of your promotional ideas (pretty please) one of these days :scootangel:

Sorry I'm going to miss that panel. Bet it will be fun and informative.

Do you know if the panels will be recorded? I'd love to see yours, but there's an atlantic ocean in the way. :applejackunsure:

I think I might be missing that panel too since there was another one that interfered with it. :ajsleepy:

4071953 From what I understand, all panels are recorded and uploaded to Youtube.

Can't be at Bronycon alas, (stupid ocean and also stupid bank account) but I'm totes into buying a copy of your book when it comes out. Congrats, by the way! :pinkiehappy:

Apparently I was at Bronycon 2014, according to a friend of mine.

If I'm there this year, take a picture - if my doppelganger is adorable and dances to rave music, I might question if I'm a clone or something.

Have a great time, bookplayer! WOO!

This guy who totally looks like me will be there, but he's not me, I swear. Anyway he looks forward to seeing you. Or so I hear.

Reliable sources say he also wants to introduce you to Willow Wren, who wrote "The Season of Grace."

I have the pack of postcards you left in Q&S. I guess I'll scatter them about where I go, like Johnny Appleseed.

4086857 That would be awesome! Thank you! The countryside will be littered with... Well, litter. But litter about my novel!

4089950 How deep should I plant them?
