Scribblefest 2016 Winners Announced! · 10:03am Apr 14th, 2016
Okidok, at around the same time me and the other admins of HazMat wrapped up our own contest, the results of the EFNW Scribblefest also arrived. There was only one story that got a winning category that I didn't read (the Twilight award, which interestingly was the one I figured two other stories would have a shot at winning) so I can say with pretty reasonable confidence that I'm happy with all the winning entries (even the poem one. I still hate poetry with a vengeance, though, but I do think it makes sense it'd win the Rarity award).

Now then, onto celebrating!
Weatherpony, my own entry, won the aptly named 'BestPony award' (or, to lesser people, the Dash award), which I was aiming for the whole time. It was actually only one of four stories nominated by the judges for that category in the finalists round, which I reckon means it was the one that got re-nominated the most (but I can't really prove that). The judges also had this to say:
This story was almost unanimously liked by our entire judging panel. It has action. It has adventure. It has attitude, but it has heart as well. A truly excellent and fun story to read!
I think that means it wuz gud.
In any case, it was a nice thing to wake up to.
EDIT: as an aside, I do also find it funny that when you do a search for 'scribblefest', a large amount of the related tags are suspiciously HapHazred related:
Which I think makes sense: I mean, I did do about ten blog posts featuring scribblefest related stuff. Speaking of, I'm also going to link to the various blog posts and recommendations I did for entries in the contest. Some of them were really good, too.

I may also do one last one on Raven, since it was the only winning story that I haven't read. But I'm not going to guarantee that: I'm super behind on Goodfic Bin stuff and the guys over there are probably wondering where the hell I am.

If you're interested, I also looked at around 20 of the entries and talked a bit about them in my blogs. If you're looking for any other stories that might be good, you could check there! They range from 'this is awesome' to 'run, dear god, run', but a lot of them were pretty fun.
