Paragraph from the next chapter of Not the Hero · 7:37pm Feb 5th, 2016
I admit it, I spend a lot of time fantasizing about killing Anon. I mean, I’m only going to actually do it if it turns out that I can and it’s the only thing that will work – I’d honestly prefer to stop him without bloodshed if possible. (This is a filthy lie and I should wash my mouth out with apple cider, which I’m doing right now. But there’s a difference between what I want, in my gloriously chaotic and impulsive heart, and what I feel is the best thing for me to do. Admittedly, most of the time the difference is pretty much invisible, but in this case… death is still not chaotic, and I’d much prefer to have Anon alive, humiliated, hated by everypony he manipulated, broken, despairing, and forced to go back to Earth to work as a grocery bagger for a psychotic manager who makes him work unpaid overtime. And then I could go visit him for the rest of his life and taunt him about how he used to be a god and now he bags groceries and all of his marefriends hate him and ritually burn pictures of him on the anniversary of his ignominious defeat. Hey, a draconequus can dream. Either that or throw him into a dimension of madness where his mind will be fed on by a horde of eldritch things from beyond the veil for the next thousand years as he gibbers and screams for mercy in forgotten languages even he no longer understands. One or the other.)
Poor Anon. I, in truth, only hold him partially to blame for all this; he is simply too stupid and ignorant to comprehend what is truly happening. His stupid arrogance is sufficient that he believes that all this is happening solely due to his own skills, charisma and grand destiny.
The real measure of him will come when he is forced to see the truth.
This would please me.
A fate worse than death!
Good to see that Discord can be the better man.
Sometimes.
Occasionally.
Only when it results in greater mayhem.
Now if only Discord could combine the two. I hear the Carcosa ShopRite is hiring...
I call dibs on that one.
Anon can have the other one.
Is anon really beyond hope or are you lazy God of chaos?
Discord will always, neigh MUST choose the path with the most amount/potential chaos in it (even with his mind being screwed with....).
Although I do like the end option of making Anon, and I quote;
It's just somehow very very very appealing to me. Don't know why though......
I approve of both of these. More so the former to be honest. Yeah, the gibbering madness dimension thing is more immediately gratifying, but breaking Anon's powers and forcing him to live with the memories of what he had and what he'd actually done and then ship him back home is just more satisfying.

You say you only half-blame him? I can understand the sentiment even if I don't agree with it. Because the simple fact remains that the whole mess? It's based off what Anon wants to happen. If he'd just put forth a little more effort to question things, then maybe the situation wouldn't be as bad as it is because he'd know something isn't right.
Or maybe he'd just blame Discord for it. I don't know.
I agree. Being stuck as a grocery bagger with the knowledge that all of Equestria and especially the Mane 6 hate him? That's just too much, even for him. /s
Took me a second to realize this wasn't an introduction, but the actual paragraph in Discord's voice. I thought it was an author's commentary about whether or not to kill Anon.
3735567 Me to.
3735567
Same here ... I didn't realize at first that this was Discord writing!
3735567
Yeah, this. Glad I'm not the only one.
'Cause if we were in a position to write the story, we'd all be thinking the same thing.
3736324 I hope she has a plan for how to deal with him. If this is all improv-written we're going to be here forever.

Well, we've got a laundry list of stuff that doesn't work, but we know Anon's powers are sloppy about how they change reality. I also recently noted that they do have a particular limit. Namely, Anon's powers can't just remove things from the world.
That was one of Discord's worries about all the vanished stallions, but it turns out they all just got changed into mares. Also, none of the side or background characters have actually vanished, nor have any locations or records that would prove Anon changed things. Anon's powers seem to function more like a game mod, changing and re-skinning parts of the world, but not able to remove them entirely.
I have no idea how or if it actually helps, but it's something worth keeping in mind. Any limit on Anon's powers is a weakness that could be exploited in the end.
3736792 I suspect that he can remove things, but since he's not in conscious control of his powers they pick the cleanest way to implement what he wants. Actually making all the stallions disappear would have caused all sorts of other changes that would have been even more noticeable, and just making them mares avoids pretty much all of them.
I bet that if his powers were left with no other option they would simply remove things from existence and memory.

I know exactly how Anon will be dealt with, eventually. I basically don't improv-write anything anymore; my writing output improves a lot when I do heavy outlining.
